11 Money and Blood
"Farsian we need to get that scroll!" Narsus said.
If their prey had a holy dagger then they needed that blood magic to slay him. Farsian allready knew that but how was he supposed to get 50 gold now? He only had a couple of silver coins on him and Narsus propably wasn't doing any better than him.
"Narsus stay here while I go back to our hideout. If Ebenerz goes then follow him but keep your distance." Farsian instructed him.
Narsus naturally did as he was told and vanished in the shadows to observe their prey. He was still visible but it was considerable harder to detect him now.
Farsian went out of the auction and started sprinting. He was very fast. As he sprinted with superhuman speed there were a few people that saw him sprinting at that speed. They were just curious what or who he was but they could also discover him as a vampire that was troublesome.
Farsian started slowing down and holding himself back so that he could still be seen as a normal human. When Farsian wen't past the shops there was that smell of the half elf again and he almost couldn't resist paying her a visit. But something was off there was another presence near her shop. What was that? He couldn't identify it but it gave him an eerie feeling that he would rather avoid.
He picked up speed again to avoid what ever it was that was lurking in her shop. Soon he could see their inn and after entering he screamed for Kaiser to bring him the gold. They had more than enough gold not counting all the enchanted equipment. But the problem was how much should they bring? It would be nice if they knew how much the price had increased allready. In the end Kaiser and Farsian both took 100 gold coins and headed back for the auction.
At the auction they discovered the hard truth. The scroll was already sold to someone else for 70 gold coins. They didn't know who it was that bought the scroll but luckly Narsus was still at the auction and remembered the smell of the one that bought it. All the wealthy merchants that took part in this auction went to a dining hall to celebrate their new items. Narsus led them there so that they could see who it was that bought their scroll.
"Should we kill them all and take what is ours?" Narsus asked with a hint of blood in his eyes. Farsian also toied with the thought of killing them all. Who knew what riches they all had on them? But they
soon discovered that the dining hall was packed with armed guards. They involuntarily stopped at the entrance in awe of the splendid decorations and chandeliers. Even the guards had red capes and golden armor as decoration. This place was filthy rich!
Farsian soon pushed the idea of a slaughter in the back of his head never to be let out again. What was wrong with these people? Weren't they embarrassed to flaunt their riches like that? They should be at least no merchant makes that much money by staying clean of blood. But all he smelled was the fine dishes and the parfumes of the merchants.
"Let's not kill them I feel that it would be a bad idea." Farsian said after he considered it all.
"Should we splitt up and try to make aqaintances?" Kaiser suggested after they were staying at the door for a while.
"Yes that sounds like a good idea. Should we tell them that we are assassins?" Narsus said.
"Why would we do that?" Farsian didn't know what good could come out of telling someone that they would murder people for money.
"Maybe they have some dirty bussines to take care of and we could help them make their laundry clean." Narsus said. He felt like it was the right thing to do. Who knew how much blood these merchants spilled for their money? Killing people was a bussiness like any other in his eyes.
"Kaiser what do you think?" Farsian asked unsure of how to reply to Narsus.
"Perhaps we could do that but please be carefull of who you talk to." Kaiser replied hesitantly.
