17 Chapter 17: Failed Hun
Now, how can I kill it. This one is smarter than the wolf and stronger. Fire breath won't work. Obviously, I can't use same method that I used with the wolf. So, only way is my mana construct. If I make a spear from elemental mana and manage to pierce its hide and ignite it, it may just work.
First, I convert my mana into elemental one and will it to compress to take a shape of a spear. Pushing all the mana in my vessel. And compressing about one third of it in spears head.
For some reason, beast just watches me while I construct my weapon. And looks at my interchanging colored spear with little bit of interest and caution.
After finishing my spear, I point it at the beast. And as soon as I point at it, it lunges at me with speed and force. I barely manage to dodge to my right and rolls over. Just as I stand up it's already over me and tries to bite my face again.
I push my body to my right as hard as I can but it manages to bite my left elbow and rips my arm off.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH"
I scream from top of my lungs. It hurts so much and fresh blood spurts out of my shoulder.
And as I scream the beast just looks at me while chewing my arm with relish. As I watch my arm travelling to the beast's stomach, something in me snaps.
Something else overcomes my pain. A fury that I never felt before swells up inside me. Almost consuming me, making me lose my rationality and reason. But the pain in my shoulder keeping me awake and lucid. Along with this fire I can feel in my mana vessel something changing.
My mana changing into something fiery. Something like raging fire. As it builds up tension in me increases too.
As it reaches boiling point I simply roar with my very essence.
"ROOOOAAAAR!"
As I roar pitch black flame with smoldering temperature comes out and heads for the beast and burns it. The beast drops to the ground roaring. Rolling over, trying to extinguish my flame.
But even as it rolls over and extinguish my flame I pour over even more flame. Pushing my lungs and mana vessel to their limit. As they reach their limit I can feel both my brain and lungs burning. Starting to tear.
Still the pain in my shoulder and fury in my guts push me to go over the limit. And keep frying the beast until not even its ashes of its ashes remain.
After finally going out of breath I finally stop. And looks over the beast. Its roars already become whimper. Its green fur singed black. But it still lives with fire in its eyes. Glaring at me with red hot fury and hatred.
And as soon as it manages to stand up it comes at me with its last strength. Just as it tries to crash into me I spin around to my right and dodges its charge. After failing its chargeь it crashes into nearby tree because of its inertia.
As it tries to orient itself by shaking its head I thrust my spear into its left armpit with all the power strength I can muster. As my spear pierces its hide and invade its body it roars and tries to dislodge it. But before it manages to I ignite my elemental and makes my spear explode in its ribcage.
"Boom"
Muffled boom sound comes from inside it. And smoke starts to come out form its orifices. And fresh blood spurts from its mouth like a small waterfall. As time passes light in its eyes starts to dim. After about 10 seconds it falls and takes its last breath.
Just as it dies I get the same feeling I got when I killed the wolf.
But even after I killed the beast the fury in my guts is still there. I think it's still there because this fury stems from my own weakness. Even after witnessing that fight over the cliff, even after training to know how weak and insignificant I am. Now that I lost my left arm what can I do.
Even though injury is almost healed what I'm left with is stump. This amputation will be deadly. But since it's gone, what can I do. I just need to learn to fight with one arm then.
Only upside is after killing the beast I can feel my body getting stronger. Even by a tiny bit.
After thinking and calming down, I'm suddenly hit with dizziness form blood loss and weakness after adrenaline wears off. If I could I just want to sleep here. But that would mark my end. I need to go back to the tree or at least cross the little creek.
It's hard as hell to walk with body so tired I might lose consciousness anytime. Every step takes everything from me. If encounter another beast I will be finished.
After struggling with walking for 40 minutes the little creek come into my vision. Maybe because I saw the little creek and relaxed my body gets even more tired.
Just as I come about 20 meters from the creek something crashes into me from my right and throws me like a ragdoll. I think that collision broke most of my ribs on my right side. I don't even have a strength to scream.
I barely manage to open my heavy eyelid and see a creature with ram like horns and razor-sharp teeth. Hah, never thought I would get eaten by a carnivorous sheep.
After ramming into me, ram just swagger slowly to me like it knows that I can't do a thing. Now even escape. Strange that I would think that a sheep has swagger.
Still I refuse to become a sheep stool. As it draws near I crawl to the creek with all my strength. As if it guessed my intention, fucking sheep suddenly increases its speed and stands in front of me. And it tries to bite my face. I swerve my head to my right and dodges the bite but it bites my left shoulder.
Clenching my teeth and enduring the pain, I coat my right index finger with little bit elemental mana I got left with and wills it to take shape of a needle and thrust it into its jugular.
As my finger penetrates its neck it let my shoulder go and tries to back away. Before it manages to I ignites my elemental mana and make it explode.
Even though explosion is almost negligible, considering where it exploded it manages to prove fatal enough to the sheep. As its throat explodes it vomits fresh blood and unexpectedly it actually roars like a beast. Well I suppose it not so weird considering its diet.
As I pull my finger out of its jugular it falls over. My finger is ruined, nothing but a singed meat with bones showing. But it is healing with the speed that I can actually see.
After roaring, whining and whimpering for a while the sheep kicks the bucket. And I get the same feeling, no matter how negligible I can feel my body changing.
I finally manage to crawl to the little creek and almost manage to drown while crossing it. As soon as I cross the creek I lose consciousness.
