Chapter X : Change of jobs
The archers flailed around on the ground like cockroaches after having? an arrow shot at.
But instead of caring about that, I look at my hands.
“This is my power. ....?”
My vision and hearing have sharpened like beasts because my five senses increased.
My moves have become as fast as winds because my agility increased as well.
I can also send arrows farther than a bow because the strength of my arms increased.
And with my increased concentration, I am also able to hit the target without a millimeter of error.
“It’s as if my body doesn’t belong to me anymore. ....!”
However, my fingers felt very uncomfortable.
Because of the decrease in dexterity, I feel like the sense of my sharp fingers, which can thread a needle even with my eyes closed, has faded.
But that’s not a big deal, because I can always get it back.
“Wow, I can do anything with this. ....!”
With an elated feeling, I checked the effect of the other remaining skill.
At the moment, there were three professions to choose from.
While I am deciding which job to change to, some students come out of castel after finishing the party.
“Well, let’s start building a new village! We have to go into the forest to gather materials!
If we don’t finish our houses by nightfall, we’ll have to camp out!”
“I can’t stay out in the open! I’ll be a disgrace!”
“Yeah, only a piece of trash would lie down in the open air!
If you don’t want to be like the trash, you’d better brace yourself!”
Every class seems to be building a place to live first.
A group of well-built men, probably warriors, entes the nearby forest carrying axes.
Since I don’t have the tools to chop down a tree, I decide to become a ranger.
My profession changes from “None” to “Ranger” as my MP decreases 10 points.
The ranger’s occupational skill, “Survival Technique,” appeares.
As soon as I get the passive skill “Survival Technique”, survival knowledge floods my mind.
“.... Okay, first of all, I need to make some tools, a stone knife and a stone axe!”
I follow the warriors into the forest.
As I am rummaging through the fallen rocks, I hear a taunt.
“Hahahaha! What’s that trash guy doing?”
“He’s looking for a rock! Apparently he’s lost his mind!”
While the warriors are laughing and chopping wood, I find a stone that is just the right size to grip and sharpen the blade to make a “stone knife” by repeatedly hitting it against a rock.
After sharpening a larger, flatter stone, I tie it to a large tree branch with ivy plants.
“Okay, I’ve made a stone axe!”
This is my first craft in high school, and it made me so happy that I lift it to the sky like a hero’s holy sword.
Bashi!
My body glistens in the light coming through the clouds.
Suddenly, a window appears in front of me.
“You have leveled up!
I couldn’t help but exclaim, “Oh!” at the unexpected surprise.
I just made a knife and an axe, and now I’ve already leveled up! Maybe it’s because of my ‘Dexterous growth’ skill?
Dexterity has increased by 100 points!
The most you can get from leveling up is 5 points.
And there are more professions that can be changed.
Speaking of “Appraiser”, it’s quite useful in survival.
I immediately try to change jobs.
As a test, I use the “Appraise” skill to examine my own stone axe.
A window showing the appraisal result appears on the stone axe.
Due to various bonuses, it has several times the cutting power of an iron axe.
“.. Several times of an iron axe! Seriously?”
To my own surprise, as I shout to myself with the stone axe in my hand, the warriors come chomping at the bit again.
“Hahahaha, look at that! Look at that trash! He’s so happy with his stone axe!”
“He’s like a caveman! What can he do with that little axe?”
“Gyahahaha. I guess he’d wet himself if he saw fire!”
I ignore the ridiculous laughter and change my job to Lumberjack.
I hold up my stone axe and activate my “Fast Logging” skill at the large tree in front of me.
Ooohhhhhh!
Dogagagagagagaga!!
Wood scraps fall like water droplets and cuts form in the big tree.
The large tree wobbles towards the warriors.
“It’s going to fall!”
As I shout, the warriors run away spiders.
Zuzun!
This caused a huge impact that shook the earth, and the warriors who have failed to escape fell on their buttocks.
“What the hell was that ....? You chopped down such a big tree in just a moment. ....?
“We’re warriors, we can barely chop down a thin tree with an axe..”
“No way! Wasn’t that trash guy supposed to be jobless?”
In spite of their astonishment, I roughly chop the tree into pieces with my stone axe to make it easier to carry.
Can be used for building materials with various bonuses.
