Volume 10, Chapter 57: It’s fine as long as it isn’t strong

Although the condition of the path improved, another problem appeared.

We didn’t know which way to go in order to reach our destination.

According to Greed, if the passage isn’t closed off, then about 2000 meters ahead there should be a passage into a nearby well.

However, once we entered the passage on the side, we found that it had completely changed into a maze, changing direction a short distance inside.

Although we tried to open a hole in the walls, we found that there was solid earth whether trying to go forward or return to the original passage.

We can’t take a direct route in other words.

Really. Why do we always have to encounter these sorts of issues? Why can’t you just let me easily solve a problem?

“Well, it looks like the people who designed the maze decided to not let people go through the walls. We’ll have to find our way through the maze.”

“It’s time for you to rely on me!”

Aliyah said with confidence.

“Just follow along one of the walls!”

“While that is a way......it won’t necessarily bring us to the correct exit.”

“Eh? What do you mean?”

“Think about it.”

I told her.

“We came in through a hole in the wall. If nothing else, should there be both an entrance and an exit?”

“That’s......true.”

“But we don’t know which direction to go.”

Tai Shixi butted in.

“Between the two ways, maybe we want to go to the entrance.”

“Ahhh, you guys are really annoying. You can’t just walk ahead, you have to tear open holes to go forward.”

Hei Luoli grumbled.

“Little White! Take out that hammer I had given you and hit with all of your strength!”

Bai Yueguang, his head filled with black lines, innocently looked at Hei Luoli.

“I......only use swords? Hammers and the like......”

“You don’t use hammers?”

Hei Luoli stared at Bai Yueguang.

“Give me the hammer then and I’ll do it!”

“Fine fine, is it out of the question for me to still hammer?”

Bai Yueguang smiled and took out a meter long mace.

What the fuck. Where’s the hammer you were talking about? How is that thing a hammer?

“I told you that’s enough, if you tear it down then this place will definitely collapse. Even if this isn’t someone else’s grave, if you use a hammer then it will definitely become our grave.”

“That’s right!”

Bai Yueguang quickly agreed.

“Tch.”

Hei Luoli thought about it for a second and clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction.

“Now I get why the Lord Demon King was so familiar with you.”

Greed chimed in.

“You and the Demon King are like one another. You both give off a similar feeling.”

“Well......maybe. But do you know any other ways? The Demon King did ask you to guide us after all.”

“That’s......”

Greed looked down the passage before turning back to us.

“It isn’t that there is no other ways, it’s just going through there would be more trouble.”

“What is it?”

Greed stretched a finger towards the ceiling.

“There is a passage that leads up out of the network. It’s a natural cave, and should have a clearer path than the maze.”

“Say so quicker! Little Bai, hit upwards!”

Heiluoli immediately said.

“It’s just that there are a lot of monsters up there......and they aren’t easy to deal with.”

Greed gave a weak smile.

“I’ve fought them before and they were really difficult. Although they weren’t very strong, their numbers are annoying.”

“So it’s like that......”

I thought for a moment.

“Not strong is fine. Please hit it lightly Bai Yueguang~”

“Yes, yes......”

Bai Yueguang gripped the mace and looked up.

“......奥义·破天!”

“......Arcane · Skybreak!”

Bai Yueguang swong upwards, sending a blue shockwave into the ceiling.

Immediately we jumped into the floor above after the ceiling was destroyed, if for no other reason than to have a quick escape route if the bottom were to collapse.

The area the the ball of light in my hand shone on wasn’t very large, so with a wave of my hand, countless balls of light appeared. I immediately threw them, and the balls all quickly flew out.

“Oh my god......”

I heard Aliyah exclaim immediately as the balls of light were thrown out.

When I looked out I could see countless spiders looking at us from the darkness. I don’t know if they were using a skill to sneak or some special reason but I couldn’t see their titles or names.

But that wasn’t anything to frighten me.

“Super Arcane · Thousand Year Frozen River.”

With a snap of my fingers, the crystals on my magic book shattered and blue magic light swept across the room, freezing the spiders.

In less than three seconds, every spider in the cave had become icy sculptures.

“You see, this is what I meant.”

I said to Greed as I pointed at the ice sculptures.

“As long as they aren’t strong.”
