Harry Potter: Blood of the Dragon

Chapter 273 - 273. Magnus' Boggart

Magnus didn't know exactly that someone was planning to kill him, but he still had some idea that a plan was being hatched against him. For exactly this, he was preparing for the inevitable.

He couldn't make any large scale plans without knowing everything, what he could do was prepare enough to give as much damage to the death eaters as possible. Kill as many of them as possible, and if possible, kill Voldemort as well.

*RING RING*

Magnus picked up his phone. He had sent a text message to Nicolas Flamel earlier, he wanted some things from the old man.

"Why do you want my philosopher stone?" Nicolas bluntly asked.

"I suspect Voldemort is going to attack me soon, I need to create some alchemical bombs and weapons. The stone can help. Or, maybe you can make them bombs for me." Magnus asked him.

Nicolas got serious when he heard about Voldemort, "Hmm... kill that slimy good for nothing wizard. I will make all the bombs you need, boy. Just tell me the methods and the type."

"I will send you the details in a minute. Thank you, old man. I will treat you later." he hung up.

After this, he went to find Ragnar. He needed to replicate the most lethal acid that he had created accidentally. He was going to use these on Death Eaters. He didn't care anymore if the scene would be gory, all that mattered was that each of his moves needed to kill some of them.

"Brother, are you ready to kill that Rodolphus?" Magnus asked him.

Ragnar looked at him with a cold glance, "I've been ready for years now, Mag. But I want a promise from you."

"Just say it," Magnus asked.

"You will not interfere with my fight with him, and anything I do to him after catching him. I want him to suffer, more than any human can imagine." Ragnar requested.

To Magnus, this was his plan from the start, if Ragnar wasn't going to torture him then he would have. "Sure, he's all yours. But you will need some help to catch him first and in that, I can help. Do not underestimate your enemy."

"That I can appreciate." Ragnar agreed to this help.

...

The next day, it was a special class for the DADA subject. Today, Moody had decided to make them use the Riddikulus spell on a Boggart.

Magnus was excited and also on edge. He wanted to see this non-living creature, but also didn't want to show his fears to anybody.

A Boggart was amortal, shape-shifting non-being that took on the form of its observer's worst fear. Because of their shape-shifting ability, no one knew what a Boggart looked like when it was alone, as it changed shape instantly upon encountering someone.

Boggart was considered to be a part of a category called non-beings aka Non-Human Spiritous Apparition. It was a type of magical spirit created out of human emotions. They were notable for the fact that they had no real equivalent in the Muggle world, and their similarity to ghosts, despite never having been truly alive. The current known non-beings are Boggarts, Dementors and Poltergeists.

"Good, now that all of you know how to cast the spell, it's time to face the real thing. In this box is a boggart. I will release it and you will cast a Riddikulus spell on it, turning it into what you find funny." Moody ordered them. historical

Casting this spell was both easy and hard. To cast, the spellcaster must first acknowledge what they fear the most and then visualise it into something amusing. But, the problem was, most people freeze when they see their worst fear.

"Stand in line and come forward one by one." He ordered them.

The class was a combination of Slytherin and Ravenclaw. They don't get much with Gryffindor this year. One by one, they went forward to face their worst fears.

Some had snakes, some spiders, some vampires, there were even mums and dads of a few. Magnus wondered if it was Sirius it might be his mother. Same with Regulus.

Then finally, Severus came forward. As soon as Moody opened the box, the boggart turned into a flat-faced, bald man with snake-like eyes. He was tall and skinny. Magnus knew this was Voldemort, and him being shown in such details meant that Severus had seen him.

"Riddikulus!" Voldemort immediately turned into a little baby sucking his own thumb and making weird noises. A round of laughter ensued, though many were wondering who this being was. Nervously, Severus stood at the side after his turn.

The next turn was Ragnar's. And for this one, Magnus was ready to intervene. Moody as well, knowing Ragnar's history. When the box opened once again, he saw the Rodolphus Lestrange. Ragnar cast the spell and Rodolphus turned into a woman and started to dance around seductively like a hooker.

Magnus took a sigh of relief after this. He was afraid that Ragnar might see his dead mother or something. His already broken mind didn't need this.

Next, finally, Magnus's turn came. Everyone was waiting for this moment as all wondered whom does Magnus fear the most? Not just the students, Moody was interested in it too. So his big mechanical eye was very attentive.

Magnus took a sigh and prepared his wand to cast the spell the second the Boggart started to take shape.

*BOOM*

The box opened and the Boggart started to take a shape. At first, two feet formed, then the rest of the body. It was a human for sure, of the same size as Magnus. Then the head started to form, and just as the blonde hair was taking shape, Magnus sent his spell, "Riddikulus!"

The Boggart turned into a balloon and flew around getting deflated. However, a few people were standing still at the moment. It was Ragnar, Emma and Moody. Severus meanwhile wasn't focusing on it to not give Voldemort an advantage, but, he did notice that it was a human, so he could already guess who it was because he knew Magnus.

~Was... why does he fear himself?~ Moody was utterly confused.

~He... fears himself? Ah... I think I get it..." Ragnar was quick to guess what it could be.

All other students were just wondering what it even was as they didn't get a good look at it. Magnus silently stepped aside and stood beside Moody, letting Emma take her turn.

Yes, he feared himself. Not because he was powerful or because his magic was uncontrollable. But because of who he was. Can you imagine the mental state of a 13-year-old boy who is seen as some kind of chosen one, meant to lead the magic-kind to new prosperity? That's how the wizarding world saw him. Then add more things to that already harsh job and you will get Magnus.

Being the king of the United Kingdom and descendent of Merlin and King Arthur, it was his dream and job to fulfil the dream of a safe and united world.

For that, Magnus works hard, harder than most can see. He makes decisions that have an effect on the entire world. Can he always be sure that all his decisions are right? Never. And that's why he's scared. Scared of himself that one day he would fuck up so badly and it would be unsolvable. That he would end up doing the opposite of uniting the world.

His own strength, his own powers and his own dreams were the sources of his worst fears. A 13-year-old kid, on the quest to change the world.

"Let's resume," Moody signalled for Emma to get ready.

*BAM*

The box opened and the Boggart started taking shape. In an instant, it turned into a human form, lying on the floor, with lots of wounds all over his body, oozing out blood. And to everyone's shock, it was none other than Magnus.

"Riddikulus!" she cast the spell quickly and Magnus' body turned into a clown's body, lying in a buddle of flower petals. She was blushing all this time.

Almost everyone was shocked by her fears. Magnus too, but he could not blame her, maybe she was afraid that Voldemort might get to him and kill him. But... why was she so worried for him?

Moody chuckled and spoke to Magnus in a low voice, "Boy, I may only have one eye but I can already see it. Marry this girl."

[A/N: I'm gonna post some bonus Grandpa Universe fic's chapters about Grandpa's life after the end, he will send his projections to a few worlds such as Rick and Morty, etc. So if you want to read it then just add that fic in your library again.]
