“Let them search then.” Saleen was innocent as he had been learning from Eleanor for the past few days and he had no time for Bifano.

“Master, would it be Nailisi..?” Jola reminded Saleen again. He knew that he could not mess with Nailisi and she could pull more powerful schemes, but Nailisi wanted her own hall. She must be having some sort of secret transaction. The soldiers missing might be related to her.

Saleen creased his eyebrows and told Jola, “Open the door!”

He could faintly feel something was not right. If it was Nailisi’s doing, he had to immediately take action against Bifano. Five thousand soldiers could not be dealt with easily. Most importantly, killing Bifano meant offending the Agares family. Although Cloudflow wanted to take back the power of the Agares family, there were some things that could never be taken back.

In Fire Dance City, Saleen had already understood that concept.

Even if Saleen’s Metatrin City was destroyed, the only thing was that he would have major losses. There was support from Sregl Island behind him and Saleen could rebuild his empire.

Behind the Agares family, there must be some figure with similar power.

Saleen wanted to solve some issues in Holy Rock City and return after. When he moved around outside, he might run into other members of the Agares family. It had to be done in secret. If Nailisi were to touch any of Bifano’s people though, Saleen would not retreat regardless.

Jola pushed open the door alone and there were two-hundred soldiers lining up in order outside the door, it was a big troop. These soldiers were fully armed and they were the most annoying shieldmen. Their magic shields could block against the attacks of low level magic. The previous battle, Saleen could see clearly that Bifano spent a lot of time and effort to deal with mages.

“Who’s the Lieutenant?!” Jola was familiar with Cloudflow and Titan’s army hierarchy, the captain was called a Lieutenant.

“Your Honor..” a low level military officer walked forward.

Jola cut him off and said, “This side of the temple belongs to my master. I do not know what attitude you Titans practice towards mages, but let me tell you, you can bring your people to search around inside. If they’re here, it will naturally be solved by my master and your small duke. If you can’t find anything, all of you will stay here and part with your heads. Please enter.”

Jola then stood by the side and beckoned politely.

What he said was illogical. If they found the missing soldiers in Saleen’s hall, Saleen would yield to Bifano. If they did not, the soldiers would all die. Of course, it was not what Saleen told Jola what to say. Jola was only following Cloudflow’s rules and trying to scare off the normal soldiers.

The captain suddenly looked embarrassed. They did not prevent them from searching, but if they wanted to search, they had to pay a price. He saw Jola’s action, but a Swordmaster who shot five arrows and brought a grand mage under control straightaway was definitely not one that he could win against. The two-hundred people behind combined, might not be able to win against Jola. There were another two grand mages in the hall as well.

If he were to turn around to get more people, that would be different from what was incited by the small duke and it would really piss the young mage off. Coincidently, Saleen had his back turned to the entrance when he sat right in the middle of the hall that was empty as he continued to speak with Eleanor. He did not even turn around. He realized that ever since he had followers, it had been much easier to deal with these sort of issues. Whatever Jola had said, he could not be bothered to tell the soldiers, but Jola could.

It was an undernourished conversation, and a naked threat.

The captain gritted his teeth and bowed lightly at Jola as he said, “Thank you.” Then, he waved and the soldiers behind him walked towards the main entrance immediately. Jola did not stop them, but looked at the soldiers and smiled coldly.

Saleen had spatial equipment. Even if he had killed a few people, he could hide the dead bodies. They would not be able to find anything in the hall. The soldiers came in anyway though. After searching the place, would they resign themselves to defeat and let Saleen slaughter them? Bifano was a little too confident.

Although Jola was not a mage, his hearing was extremely good. There was a soft voice from the captain’s helmet, he obviously had received Bifano’s orders.

Although the space in the hall was not small, Saleen threw everything out and it was empty. The two-hundred soldiers had finished searching within ten minutes and they of course could not find anything.

The two-hundred shieldmen turned around and looked, Jola was holding his sword, guarding the main entrance. He obviously did not intend to let them leave.

“Mister mage, we are..” Lieutenant that led them came before Saleen and wanted to talk to the young mage. Saleen raised his eyes to look at him and cut him off.

“I understand, don’t worry. All of you will die without suffering.” When Saleen finished speaking, the entire hall became heavy with black fog and the magic array on the ground that was activated could be roughly seen. Where Saleen sat was exactly the core of the magic array.

Bifano brought many people and in the enclosed space, how could Saleen not make preparation beforehand? It was a low level magic; poisonous fog. It was not damaging, but the range was wide and the duration time was very long. Casting this magic at such space was terrifying.

Jola left the hall and closed the door. Engulfed in the poisonous fog, he would not be hurt, but it would expend his sword aura.

Eleanor looked at Saleen in shock. She was a grand mage and poisonous fog would not hurt her. She was able to see everything clearly in the fog. Saleen was still smiling as he took action to kill. The young mage was serious when he made a decision to kill.

Sika pouted as she walked towards Saleen and took a seat next to him. The poisonous fog could not go near. It surrounded her body and formed a clear space.

“You really have to kill so many people for Nailisi?” Sika asked unhappily.

“What would you do if you were me?” Saleen asked.

Sika thought about it, but did not say much. If she were to make a choice, she would have done almost the same thing, but not as brutally as Saleen. Nailisi was one of them after all, Bifano’s underlings came in a large number and they probably had no good intention.

Among the poisonous fog, the plaintive cries reverberated in the hall. Some low military ranking officers who were swordmasters had yet to be poisoned, but they could not see in the fog and could only swing their double bladed swords at Saleen’s direction according to their memory.

A high level swordsmen could hold their breath for half an hour, but the poisonous fog could seep through their pores and that was something a swordsman could not resist. After awhile all the soldiers would die of poison without Saleen making a move. These low ranking military officers of course had to give their all.

Saleen smiled coldly. Bifano had six-hundred shieldemen to fight against mages. These armors and shields on heavy infantrymen were all magic equipment. Unless it was a grand mage, a normal low level mage would definitely be killed with maltreatment.

Mages were not idiots that only knew how to release fireballs, the magic resistant equipment was too low of a level. It was technically useless against poisonous fog at that sort of range magic. Even if it was not poisonous fog, another big range burning spell would be sufficient to kill the soldiers under the metal armor with heat.

Metal made magic armor was naturally flawed, it was not reversible with any trick.

Of course, in the mage’s eyes, rhenium gold and zither silver were not considered as metal. Even in the Qin Empire it would not be possible to use rhenium gold and zither silver in army equipment. Even if it was only a two-hundred soldier army.

The Lieutenant was terrified and angry. He was a high level swordsmen and the poisonous fog was yet to affect him, but he could not see anything. He could only hear the breathing of the mage at a spot about six steps forward. He threw his shield and double bladed sword, the took out his saber and took a huge stride forward.

With one stride, he felt both of his legs go numb and then there was an unbearable pain. A sharp object blocked before his feet and cut both of his legs off straight away.

A high level swordsmen that was covered in magic armor, how could Saleen not be prepared? The water current from the calabash had laid in ambush and dealt with the most annoying man quietly.

Sika took a seat next to Saleen. She caught her boomerang and threw it out again. Every time she threw it out, there would be a swordsman that was cut at their throat. Eleanor’s face grew pale when she saw what was happening. She lost her bracelet and she definitely could not dodge Sika’s boomerang. Then she understood that the young mage was really polite towards her.

Everyone around the mage was life threatening and they were all well coordinated.

“Am I too cruel?” Saleen looked to the side and asked Eleanor.

Eleanor nodded and Saleen smiled. He said, “A while back, I was still bothered about this kind of matter, but I thought about it. Some people have done even more brutal things, but earned their place in history. I am still me, as long as they don’t find trouble with me, I wouldn’t do so. I didn’t invite them into my hall. Even before they entered, Jola made it clear.”

“You actually don’t need to feel bad..” Eleanor said halfway and suddenly stopped. She did not know why she suddenly consoled Saleen. Even though she did not hate the mage much, she was a captive of the mage.

historical

“You could tell. Yes, feel bad. Murderers always feel bad. That’s normal. If I don’t feel bad, I will turn into that kind of person that I hate. If I do, that wouldn’t be beneficial for me either.”

Eleanor listened quietly. Saleen’s voice was young, the content that he was talking about did not go with it.

“I let you go because I am still young. Eleanor, you are so lucky.” Saleen sighed in relief.

“Lucky?” Eleanor smiled bitterly. She lost her family and she was all alone. It was impossible for her to return to the elf dimension and her lifespan was still long. She had no idea about the future of the Myers Mainland.

“Saleen, if Bifano were to lead his troops here for an attack, what should we do?” Sika stopped Saleen from expressing his emotions and brought up a very realistic concern.

“What can we do? Nailisi made a move, I have to give her a lesson later.” Deep down in Saleen’s soul, he could feel happiness that was from Nailisi, that was the comfort after a massacre.

As she already made a move, she should not regret it. They only had five-thousand people. They were all in halls that were enclosed. If he defended to the last, they would burn Bifano out too. Saleen was not stupid that he would go and fight head to head. Bifano’s five-thousand selected elite troops could not be easily killed. If the two-hundred people did not get into the range of the magic array, he would have needed to put in more effort.
