Chapter 1197: Selena (11)
Selena had never shown her beast to Xander, because the man didn't want to be marked by her so soon.
Xander didn't want Selena to mark him, because he knew the procession would be very painful and he wasn't sure if he could control himself, or rather control the fire inside him.
It wasn't pain that Xander was afraid of, but the huge potential that there was a chance he would burn Selena that made Xander reluctant to do so.
Therefore, when Selena suddenly ran and transformed into her white beast, Xander was so taken aback, he was shocked to his wits. His complete focus was sucked by the beautiful white beast alone.
Selena had said that the color of her beast was white, like snow, and Xander had imagined the girl in her white beast form, but he never imagined that Selena's wolf would turn out that beautiful.
The white beast was the most beautiful thing Xander had ever seen in his life.
However, his surprise was overruled when he heard gunshots and the white beast roared in pain and fell to the ground.
Blood flowed from her wound.
It all happened so fast, but Xander saw it like a slow motion scene shown in a video.
Only after the first shot was heard and the white beast fell, did Xander realize that someone was after him and Selena stupidly shielded him with her own body.
Xander couldn't think straight as his legs took him to the white beast that was laying motionless, while the people in the van were amazed that Xander was still fine. There was no sign that he had been shot.
Therefore, the shooter aimed his gun at Xander again, but by then, he had seen his target initiating a counterattack.
His eyes blazing with anger, Xander stared at the person and the gun, and in the next second the gun exploded right in front of the man's face.
It caused the man to roar in pain like a wounded animal while the people in the van were confused as to what had happened.
However, they didn't have time to be so flustered, because right after that gun 'detonated,' the van they were traveling in exploded with a loud bang.
Flames erupted in the van's direction, as if someone had just thrown a bomb at it, but it didn't stop there.
When one man managed to escape from the car, his body was instantly charred.
It didn't take long for the man to scorch and turn to ashes.
Xander was completely unaware of what he had done, or perhaps, he did but he didn't want to stop.
This was the power that he had been harboring for so long, the fire that had manifested like a monster within him.
Thus far, Selena had managed to calm the monster down, but not this time. The monster wanted revenge and he wanted blood because those bastards had hurt the single most precious thing in Xander's life.
Now, the blaze not only burned the van, it had spread to every car that was nearby or to the small shops that lined the beach.
People screamed hysterically because the fire just appeared without any source. They were running here and there.
The calm beach immediately erupted in chaos, noises and screams everywhere. No one cared about the sunset anymore.
Because the faint orange hue from the sun was nothing compared to the deadly orange glow they were being bathed in at the moment.
The fire seemed to have its own mind and wanted to scorch anything in its path.
The flames spread to every object or person they could reach and no one knew how far the great fire was.
Xander never tried to release the monster within him and now that he was hurt, he didn't care about his surroundings anymore.
Xander seemed to be possessed by the monster, until a soft voice woke him from his dark world.
"Xander, stop that.." Selena said slowly. She had returned to her human form and was now lying helplessly on the beach sand.
Immediately Xander swiftly knelt beside her and looked at her with an indescribable look in his eyes. He wanted to say something, but all the cells in his body and brain felt numb.
Xander had never faced anything like this before.
"Stop it," Selena said in a low voice. She then let her head rest on Xander's chest. "You will burn the whole city.."
That was right, he could burn an entire city. It was just that Xander didn't care about this city...
The man then lifted Selena's body that felt light and carried her through the flames he had created, while the girl breathed slowly. Her hands drooped at her sides weakly.
Those flames might burn the entire city, but that same fire didn't burn Selena at all nonetheless. The girl walked safely in the flames, in her mate's arms.
==================
The fire that broke out on the beach and surrounding area made headlines that night.
A strange blaze appeared out of the blue, but after fifteen minutes and ten fire engines had arrived at the scene, suddenly, the fire was extinguished.
Not only partially extinguished, but suddenly extinguished without a trace.
Only the remnants of the damage could be seen, which indicated that the place had become a sea of fire.
All the officers who went to the on field investigation became very confused by the phenomenon and no one could explain what was really going on.
Some assumed that there was a gas leak nearby, but upon investigation, the place was not traversed by any gas pipelines, nor was it in a natural place to experience such a large fire.historical
Everyone was worried and afraid of what happened.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities in the fire that occurred, although there were dozens of injured victims who were currently being treated in hospital. There were five men who died on the spot. They were in a car. Eyewitnesses said that the fire started there.
Meanwhile, the man responsible for the incident was now sitting on the floor, clutching his hair in frustration as he waited outside the operating room.
The bullet that hit Selena almost hit her heart.
Xander remained silent there, sitting with a blank mind. He didn't want to give into his fear, because it would make him lose control.
