Chapter 68: Golden Bull
“Wait! You are not serious right?” Wang Hao may be a little perverted, but he won’t let himself become an all-around breeding machine.
“Huh? Is there a problem then?” The man’s eyes started to redden with anger. Electricity started to gather around him as he stared at Wang Hao balefully.
“I already offered you my sincerity yet you think nothing of it!” The man then stepped forward, clearly intent on attacking Wang Hao. The wind whistled, as they started to smell of ozone.
“Wait!” Eleanor, with the her face still hidden, stepped forward. She waved her hands to signal for the man to stop.
“He cannot accept the offer because.... he was already married to me.” Eleanor’s voice continued to weaken as she said that.
“Haha that’s right! She is my wife!” Of course, Wang Hao took an advantage of this. He wrapped his left arm around Eleanor’s body, tightly hugging it. At that time, he could feel her soft and dainty body pressed with him. Her fragrant scent, which miraculously stayed even after all that happened, wafted into his nose. He breathed it in deeply, knowing he can only enjoy this rarely.
Eleanor stiffened at the contact, as she discreetly elbowed Wang Hao on his ribs. Wang Hao then sheepishly pulled his arm away, as he smiled towards the man.

“Well.... If that’s the case, your refusal is understandable. Even with her face hooded, I can still see that your wife is a beautiful lady.” The man then clasped his hands as he bowed slightly. “I am the Chief of this village. I am Chief Fou.”
“Well then Chief Fou, I am Lin Fang, and this is my wife Ellie.” Wang Hao had to use fake names in this situation because he needed to. “This man beside me is my servant, Bone. The two little kids here are Annie and Gary.”
“Haha, you can come in our village now!” Chief Fou enthusiastically strode inside the village, with Wang Hao’s group following him.
“Is it just me, or there is something going on here?” Even with the chief’s jovial mood, Wang Hao could still feel the tense atmosphere in the village.
“It’s because of those damned goldcoats!” Chief Fou bristled in anger. He tightly gripped his spear, as if he wanted to impale those so-called ‘goldcoats’.
“They come here in this village once a week, demanding for us to hand over our village! Of course, we disagreed. But that did not stop them! They said they will get this land at any costs! Of course, I thought nothing about it. Our village has a powerful guardian, and I am sure it will protect us.”
Chief Fou pointed towards the center of the village. There, a majestic statue of a golden bull had been erected. The statue was perfectly made, as if the bull itself was alive and was just coated with gold. Its presence exuded sheer ferocity, as if it was ready to bolt at any moment.
“That is the golden statue that had always been here since the start of the village.” Chief Fou looked towards the statue with reverence. “It had always protected the village from all kinds of invasions. But it has one limitation. It can only make a move once a month.”
“So those goldcoats tried to kill of you, and the bull repelled them?”
“No. It seems like they do not know that the bull can only move once per month. Because of that, they did not dare to attack. But they are intent on acquiring my approval to own the village. That’s when they started using dirty tactics!” Chief Fou started stomping in anger.
“They poisoned our river! That was where we get our water for drinking and cleaning. Good thing only one got poisoned. We then decided to use other sources of water. But the one who got poisoned was my wife.”
“I tried all things to heal her, but nothing seemed to work. When the goldcoats arrived a week ago, they said that they have what I need. A Second Stage Antidote. If I give them the village, they will give the medicine to me. I vehemently refused, of course.”
“Then those goldcoats started offering treasures to the villagers. They said they are going to reward heavily those who can contribute to the village being handed over. And someone F**KING bit the bait! That person said all about the golden bull’s limitation.s Upon hearing this, the goldcoats left happily, bringing the damn traitor with them!”
“Then 3 days ago, a beast swarm suddenly attacked the village. It was unnatural, since beast swarms only appear once every ten years. I am only at the Foundation Establishment Stage, so it was really hard for me to defend the village. The golden bull then made its move, eradicating all of the invading beasts.”
“That was when I realized that this swarm could be orchestrated by those damned goldcoats! They already knew about the one month limitation, so they made the bull make its move. I am sure that what they will do next is to invade this village, since nothing can stop them now.”
“But we will not go down without a fight!” At this point, Chief Fou’s story started to become a war cry. “We have lived for this village, now we will die for it! Haaa!!!”
“Haaa!!!!” All the villagers raised their weapons, clearly itching to fight with the incoming invaders.
“Ummmm....” Wang Hao did not know whether to laugh or cry. They only wanted to rest, yet they still managed to get into a conflict?
“Ah Chief Fou, how about us...”
“Do not worry Lin Fang. Those goldcoats will only invade two days from now. So be rest assured that you will be safe tonight.” Chief Fou patted Wang Hao’s shoulders. “Come, here is your resting place. You can leave tomorrow early, if you want to be really safe.”
Chief Fou brought them inside one of the largest huts in the village. Its inside seems luxurious compared to other huts. Soft mats laid on the floor, clearly made to be slept in comfortably.
“This is the guest quarters of the village.” Chief Fou broke the silence. “Because of your help with my wife, you are all considered as the village’s benefactors. As such, you can enjoy resting in here. Have a good rest!” Chief Fou left, closing the door as he bounded towards his own house.
“Goldcoats huh.” Wang Hao muttered to himself. “Hey wifey, are those goldcoats from the Goldscar Family?”
“Do not call me wifey! I just had to do that to save you!” Eleanor was clearly angry with Wang Hao’s teasing. She huffed as she turned her head away. Wang Hao found this expressions of hers to be really cute.
“Yes, from what I know, those goldcoats Chief Fou was talking about seems to be the Golden Guards of the Goldscar Family. They usually follow a Prince of the Family to protect him. They can also do other tasks that the Family requires from them.”
“Does that mean that this event has been orchestrated by a Prince of the Goldscar Family?”
“Unfortunately, it seems so.” Eleanor sighed in frustration. “We need to leave this village immediately tomorrow, so that we can avoid any surprise attacks.”
“Big Sis, we are not going to help them? They are going to be attacked!” Anna felt that the villagers were too pitiful. “They could die!”
“Anna, we have no way to help them. We have our own problems too right? If we help them, the Goldscar Family might discover that we are here. That will be dangerous not only for us, but for the village itself, since they harbored wanted people.”
Anna just hung her head sadly, knowing her efforts her futile.
Wang Hao patted Anna’s head. “You really are a good girl. Do not worry, your Big Bro will find a way to help them.”
“Really?”
“Wang Hao!” Eleanor looked at Wang Hao suspiciously, as if she was warning him to behave.
“Do not worry Eleanor, I am just going to talk to Chief Fou. I will give him some battle strategies that will help their village.”
“Ok then. But do not promise our participation in the fight ok?” Eleanor knew that they had to repay the favor they owed the village. Wang Hao’s battle advice will be enough. Risking their lives, which were already in danger, will just complicate things.
But before Wang Hao could get out the door, they heard a horn sounding in the distance.
“Ooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!”
An arrogant voice then echoed throughout the village. “Haha! Come out you filthy barbarians! From this day on, this dirty village shall be the property of the Goldscar family!”
Wang Hao and Eleanor could only look at each other with dismay
“We are really out of luck.”
