Chapter 74 - The Second Most Respected Person In The Fu Family

When Fu Hua returned, he felt that Jia Li has become another person. She was emotionless and could only manage to say a few words only when necessary.

After seeing her parents for the last time, Jia Li signed the papers the doctor gave to her before the bodies of her parents were moved to the morgue.

When Jia Li was about to leave, a woman in a nurse uniform rushed over to her side in tears, but she was stopped by the two soldiers standing close to Jia Li.

"Jia Li, it's me. I heard what happened to your parents." The woman said in tears as she was stopped by the soldiers.

Jia Li recognized the woman as her mother's close friend who also worked at the same hospital as a nurse.

"Grandfather, she is my mother's friend."

As Jia Li said that, the woman was allowed to pass through.

The woman came to Jia Li's side and dared not to touch her.

"Jia Li, I'm sorry about what happened. I had a night shift today, so I didn't know about all of these until I came in some minutes ago and heard the news." The woman cried.

"Aunty, thank you for taking care of my mother." Jia Li said.

"Jia Li, how did all of these happen? Your mother called in sick this morning because she was down with a cold, and now, she is dead?" The woman asked as she wiped her tears.

Jia Li clenched her fists ???? beside her and asked as her eyes reddened.

"My mother was sick?" Jia Li asked.

"She didn't tell you? She was down with a cold this morning and she called me to help her take a 2-days leave." The nurse revealed with a pained look on her face.

"Thank you, Aunty, for telling me about this." Jia Li said in a low tone.

"There is no trouble. What are you going to do now? Do you have any family members that can help you out now?" The nurse asked.

"Family member? Aunty, don't worry about me. I am fine. I have to leave now." Jia Li said and turned away.

The nurse could only watch as Jia Li walked back to the people she was with.

Fu Hua, Grandfather Fu, and everybody person there heard the conversation between Jia Li and the nurse.

Such heartless people, they didn't even spare a sick person!

"Jia Li, we are going to the small Villa I have in this city. That was the place I stayed before I had the accident." Grandfather Fu said to lighten the mood.

"I will listen to Grandfather." Jia Li said as she felt pain in her heart.

Fu Hua glanced at her and didn't say anything. It was not in his nature to strike up a conversation and now added to the fact that Jia Li was acting this way.

Jia Li followed Grandfather Fu and the rest to the small villa that was close to the Woods. That place was lonely, but there was space in her head to imagine the kind of place the old man chose to build a house.

Her mind was occupied by endless thoughts and emotions.

As dinner was served, Grandfather Fu called for Jia Li to come over and eat, but she said she wasn't hungry and wanted to be alone.

Grandfather Fu was scared she might harm herself out of grief, so he ordered her servant to send food to her room, and stay there with her.

Jia Li sat on the bed motionlessly. No matter how the poor servant called out to her, she didn't respond.

She sat on the bed and stared into the distance as she thought about her parents.

'Dad, Mum, where are you? Did you both leave me?'

When the servant saw that Jia Li wasn't even paying attention to her, she sighed to herself. She felt like crying on her behalf, but she managed to force the emotions down.

The servant cleared the plates away when the food turned cold. Then she returned and went straight to the bathroom to prepare the bath for Jia Li.

"Miss, I have prepared the bath for you." The servant said to Jia Li.

Jia Li glanced at her without saying anything.

The servant sighed and went to her side. She took the duvet off her body and helped her stand to her feet.

Jia Li let her do what she wanted and followed her into the bathroom like a robot.

"You can leave." Jia Li said to her.

The servant was scared that Jia Li might do something to herself, but Jia Li was adamant about being alone, so the servant left.

She stood right outside the door to wait for Jia Li because she couldn't trust her.

If something happens to Jia Li, how could she keep her life?

At the dining room, Grandfather talked a bit with Fu Hua about the case, before asking him to call home.

When the rest of the Fu family members came home that day, Fu Hee told them what happened.

They were quite surprised by the news. They just left the house in the morning to go about their normal daily life only to come back and hear bad news.

"Grandfather and Brother left with Jia Li?" Fu YingPei asked.

"Yes. She needed someone there to take care of some important matters." Fu Hee replied.

"That girl is so pitiful. She just left her family and her father encountered trouble." Fu ChunHua said with a sigh.

"Fu Hee has father called you yet?" Fu Lei asked.

"No." Fu Hee replied.

"Why don't you call him to find out more about that girl and if they have settled the issue." Fu ChunHua said.

"Father is busy, and he will call when he has settled everything." Fu Hee replied without sparing her a glance.

"Your attitude right now shows that you don't care. Shouldn't you be the one calling to know what's happening over there instead of waiting for Father to call?" Fu ChunHua asked arrogantly.

She was angrier that Fu Hee did not put her in her eyes, so she was rude to her.

"Are you more righteous than me?" Fu Hee asked in a raised tone.

She was annoyed that Fu ChunHua did not know her place.

"You that is more righteous, why don't you do your work? You claim to be the mistress of the house, but you don't act like one!" Fu ChunHua said angrily.

"Are you unhappy that I am the mistress of this Family, sorry, but there is nothing you can do about it?" Fu Hee said.

"You..." Fu ChunHua said while pointing at Fu Hee. She was about to explode when Fu Lei hit his palm on the table.

"What is wrong with the both of you? Always fighting and quarreling, what are you teaching the children?" Fu Lei said angrily.

Fu Hee and Fu ChunHua glared at each other but dared not to say another word.

Fu Lei's temper wasn't good, especially when he was provoked. He was in the army, and so he has a different mindset.

He can't stand two women bickering by his side, especially about matters that didn't make sense.

After Grandfather Fu, Fu Lei was the next person in the family that was highly respected. So, his word and presence held a lot of weight.

After Fu Lei finished admonishing them, none of them dared to speak up again.

Fu Juan sighed. At least, there was some peace now.

She took out her phone and dialed Grandfather Fu's number, but Butler Lu was the one that answered the call.

The call was short.

"Aunty Juan, what did grandfather say?" YingPei asked.

"It was Butler Lu that answered the call. Father is eating and will call us later." Fu Juan replied.

Not too long after, Fu Hua called his father and explained the situation to him even though he wasn't aware of the matter from the start.

His mother would have been the best person to call since she was the only person around when they left. But given his mother's character, he didn't want to call her.

Fu Lei's phone rang, and that garnered the attention of the others.

He answered the call and listened to Fu Hua speak for almost five minutes. And throughout the call, his facial expression did not change, thus, igniting the curiosity of the rest.

After the call, Fu Lei sighed and put the phone away. Glancing at the rest of the family, he saw how eager they were and went ahead to tell them the conversation he had with Fu Hua.

He was very brief with his speech.

Considering how serious the matter was, Fu YingPei was speechless with the way his father described the situation with short simple words.

But because of how serious the matter was, this was not a time for him to make fun of him.

But he still dared not to make fun of his father on a normal occasion.

It's not like he wanted to die.
