Chapter 313 The Fate of ‘The Bridge’ Part 4
Chapter 313: The Fate of 'The Bridge' Part 4
Regardless of fighting against Garvin not so long ago, Kayn still didn't feel the slightest feeling of fatigued inside of him. This was only possible because he doesn't perform any unnecessary action that would consume his stamina and energy needlessly. The result of experience.
Ekin quickly noticed this point and felt confused about it. "How come you're still not tired?"
"I don't waste movements," Kayn kindly explained as he isn't worried that if Ekin knew about it the latter would also be able to do the same. For him to achieve this level of execution, he had to train continuously day in and day out for a whole month, thus it isn't something someone like Ekin can achieve in a snap of a finger.
"I see," Ekin realized right away after briefly observing Kayn.
Clang!
Despite talking, Kayn and Ekin were still exchanging swords.
"How about we postpone this and you continue training?" Kayn proposed jokingly.
"Are you underestimating me?" Ekin's eyebrow began twitching as he felt insulted by Kayn's words.
"As much as I hate to admit it, I have to tell you the truth," Kayn brandished his sword.
Clang!
Right after parrying Ekin's sword to the side, he immediately turned sideways and waved his sword, hence his sword is now pointing directly to Ekin's neck.
"You are indeed weak,"
Iken stared with wide eyes of fear at the tip of the sword that had slightly cut his neck, causing blood to ooze out.
"Even if you train for a whole year, you'd still find yourself lacking," Kayn moved his hand to try and slit Iken's neck.
Unfortunately, Iken moved his head right away, thus evading further damage to his neck. He quickly jumped backward and upon landing he used his other hand to clasp his neck.
"Ah!" Iken grunted in pain as he burned the wound on his neck in order to close it and stop the bleeding using mana.
While doing that, Iken looked at Kayn as he can't help asking. "You could have taken my life right that moment, why did you stop?"
"That's because you are Garvin's men," Kayn glimpses at Garvin who is currently fighting against Moei and Marlon alongside Friedrich. "Whether you live or die would entirely be up to Garvin himself. Of course, it would be a different story if you still try to fight me,"
Iken instantly realized. "In that case, what should I do?"
"I have one of my men on standby not that far away from here to the north. Go find him and form a group together," Kayn was referring to Seven.
"How can I recognize that person?"
"He'd be the one to approach you," Kayn assured Iken not to worry about it. Because Seven has already become his Undead Soldier, he can communicate with the latter using the connection they've established as if telepathy.
"How about Silas?" Iken looks at the direction of Silas who is currently contending against Gilbert.
"Gilbert already said the same to him, and as you can see, he made his decision," Kayn can already guess that Silas decided to continue fighting for the Assembly of Freedom instead of leaving the battlefield.
"How unfortunate," Iken can only shake his head. He can already imagine the reason why. Unlike him who is loyal to Garvin, Silas' loyalty lies to the Assembly of Freedom. That's why he doesn't see any problem leaving their organization as he only follows wherever Garvin goes.
"You can leave now," Kayn motioned his hand.
"I'll remember this favor,"
After saying that, Iken charged toward Kayn one last time.
Kayn instantly understood what Iken is about to do, thus he granted the latter's wish.
With a brandish of his sword, Kayn easily sent Iken flying away towards the forest to the north.
It was such an exaggerating outcome considering how far the forest was and Iken had to purposely allow himself to be sent flying nearly a hundred meters away, but by doing so Kayn created a cover for Iken to escape to the forest without anyone hindering his path.
Everyone was immediately surprised to see Iken flying away by Kayn's attack.
Nobody expected such an outcome to result in Kayn and Iken's fight as all of them believed that it would end in a draw.
And after seeing that Iken didn't appear again after flying away, everyone assumed that he already fell to his death. historical
Realizing that Iken has fallen, every man from the Assembly of Freedom that followed him didn't hesitate to run away.
It didn't take long for the other three deputies to similarly fall to their end. Though, unlike Iken, all three, including Silas, truly died.
Shortly after, the members of the Liberty Squad and Unity Rule also followed. Albeit not all of them as some were able to run away to the rear of their army.
In the meantime, Chief Kylo's face turned uglier by the minute as he watches his men fall one after another. He was completely helpless to do anything as his individual strength can't even hope to compare to Kayn, let alone join in the fight. In truth, he was just a commander, the strategist of this war for the Assembly of Freedom.
And now that his crucial pieces have fallen piece by piece from the board, Chief Kylo slowly realized that their loss is imminent.
"Where on Earth is the Assembly Knights?!" Chief Kylo can't help blaming everything on the members of the Assembly Knights who have yet to make their appearance until now.
Excluding Wesley who has already betrayed the Assembly of Freedom and Magnus who is still missing in action, all members of the Assembly Knights actually came along with the main army to the Hush Village. But just this morning, all four of them disappeared without any notice.
Chief Kylo wasn't worried that they'd betrayed him, but right after seeing that Garvin, one of the most loyal members of the Assembly of Freedom, at least when it was still used to be under his father's rule, suddenly betraying them, he can't help imagining that something wrong must have happened to the Assembly Knights that's why they had mysteriously disappeared. There's a possibility that it isn't only Wesley who betrayed the Assembly Knights.
