Chapter 142 Artifact Resonance
historical
Holding the small box with both hands, Raven stared at the Fragmented Artifact with flickering eyes full of excitement.
The little coin, from a closer look, turned out to be much larger than a normal coin, about twice the size of any ordinary golden coin. Furthermore, now that he had the chance to examine it with his own hands, Raven realized that on both sides of it symbols were carved.
Symbols that he immediately recognized and made him feel a little... shook.
On the golden side of the coin, what Raven could see were seven beautiful stars, their edges colored with whiteness that gave one an illusion as if they were shining, just like any normal stars would in the sky... or on his Fate of Dice...
As for its other side, instead of having seven stars it only had a single one, however, this one not only had its edges curved to the left but also had an S-shaped crack running through its middle, making it look like a star that had been broken into two!
'Just like the pedant on my necklace...' Raven thought silently, feeling even more shaken than before.
However, that feeling only lasted for a few moments before curiosity took over him, making him unable to resist the urge to get a look at the description of this little item that made him feel so weird ever since his eyes fell on it.

When Raven's eyes finished reading everything on the panel, he sucked in a mouthful of fresh air and his eyes widening scarcely.
He was right.
He didn't know how or why, but this coin was something that was in great connection with both his current abilities and Artifact.
'I feel a little creeped out...'
Raven swallowed nervously as he subconsciously went and touched his pedant.
'Dice of Fate that requires luck, Reverse Star-Crossed Necklace that reverses my luck and misfortune, my Avatar Imprints that had been modified to grant me the power to slightly manipulate one's luck, and now this..."
The more Raven thought about how he got his hands on all of those things, the more he felt frightened which only become worse when the conversation he listened to in his sealed memory resurfaced in his mind.
It was almost as if...
"A wonderful item, isn't it?"
Suddenly, Alexios' voice snapped Raven out of his line of thoughts, forcing Raven to shift his gaze away from the coin and onto Alexios, who at this moment smiled at him with joy.
"Though, to think I will be lucky enough to meet with the founder of the legendary Black Moon Guild himself, I am truly humbled." Alexios showed a friendly smile when his eyes were directed from Raven onto Old Dan.
"Haha! While it is true we have achieved a lot of things, we are still very far from reaching a status to be called legendary. Though, I am truly grateful for your kind words." Old Dan laughed, however, from the way he smiled it was obvious that he enjoyed the praise, especially from someone like Alexios who currently had great influence thanks to him being one of, if not the best auctioneer Star Treasury has ever had!
"Sir, the transaction was successful." meanwhile, one of the staff members behind Alexios spoke.
"I see..." Alexios nodded and with a soft sigh that even sounded a little sorrowful, he said, "Now then, although I wish to talk a little while longer, unfortunately, I can't as I still have to take care of a few things. Thus, I have to apologize, but..."
"It's okay. We understand." Old Dan laughed and after bowing a little he left the hall together with Thomas and two children.
As for Alexios, he watched with a calm smile as Raven and the rest walked away before he was approached by a staff member who whispered something into his ear, immediately causing his expression to change and snap his gaze at the spot where Raven's shadow was last seen.
"This is not good news at all..."
...
Walking out of the large and luxurious mansion before climbing inside a vehicle with the coin in his hand, Raven sighed and summoned for 4 jigsaw pieces.
"You have 4 Artifact Fragments?" Luna exclaimed in surprise before she asked, "You really wish to turn that coin into your True Artifact?"
Upon seeing the gazes he got from Luna, his father, and even from Thomas from the rearview mirror, Raven sighed and nodded.
"After all, why would I go all the way to use my powers to get my hands on this thing?"
"So that's how it is." Old Dan sighed.
"I'm sorry." Raven showed a wry smile and quickly used the four Artifact Fragments on the coin.
[Congratulations! You have successfully mended your Fragmented Artifact, turning it into a True Artifact!]
[Do you wish to choose True Artifact: Fortune's Coin as your second True Artifact?]
[Warning! You can only possess a total of 3 True Artifacts!]
When Raven noticed the similar panels in his line of sight a soft sigh escaped his mouth and nodded.
"Yes, I do."
[Understood.]
[True Artifact: Fortune's Coin had been successfully turned into your second True Artifact!]
'Perfect.'
A smile formed on Raven's face when he watched as the coin flashed and vanished from sight, becoming a part of him just like his other Artifact.
However, the next second his smile froze...
[Warning! Artifact Resonance appeared between your two True Artifacts!]
[Because of that now your two True Artifacts will be upgraded!]
'Huh?'
