Butcher Demon

Chapter 283

Chapter 283

◇◆◇

A man sat alone in a spacious private room, facing the table.

He opens the box that was delivered to him and finds a dead spider inside.

It was an odd spider, with two stripes on its back. It looked like a diminutive tarantula. According to the report, this is supposedly a reckless alien that has invaded the heart of Fort 88.

“You let such a flimsy alien reach inside the executive Office..... Penrose, are you finally becoming rusty?”

*poke* *poke*, the man pokes it with a stick.

The spider was stiff with its legs folded. It remained motionless and unresponsive. There was no doubt it was dead as the report said so.

“A fang.... Is this for a poison?”

When the stick stuck the spider’s fangs, a drop of liquid released from the tip.... It was a valuable specimen from a newly discovered alien. The man will examine everything from bodily fluids down to an individual hair on his body.

His name is Damien.

The one who framed Abigail and left her on the front lines.

He is a researcher. And one of his responsibilities was to be the first to investigate the alien specimen that AASPINT collected from the front line. One might say it was to keep the credit for the new discovery to himself, but no one can complain about it anymore. Damien’s promotion to director of the FORCOM Institute is practically guaranteed.

*pat* Damien placed the report on his desk.

The report, which he had just been reading through showed a picture of Yasmin and Dominic. The contents consisted of K.I.A.–a report of their deaths in battle. While their bodies had not been found, it was suggested that they may have been killed by aliens in the chaos of the 88 raid.

“Kuk....”

Damian covers his eyes.

Dominic was his son.

A life created in a test tube – a homunculus, but still linked by blood.

In other words, Dominic was the child of Yasmin and Damian.

Damien and Yasmin were partnered.

“Ku....Ku....”

Damian shook his shoulders and breath rapidly.

Then he lifted his chin high and took a deep breath.

“Kuha ha ha ha ha!!! Aha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!”

He laughed uncontrollably, looking at the ceiling.

“–Finally!! You’re finally fucking dead! serves you right!!”

Damian and Yasmin’s relationship was lopsided. Yasmin was always the one in control.

The two originally met at a forum for many influential scientists. Their relationship was only for him to steal the latest technologies from 88. Damian had planned to do just that. But after several physical encounters, he soon became ensnared in Yasmin’s evil clutches.

With his weakness in her hand, Damien was threatened and forced to be her pawn.

“Finally.... I’m finally free!!”

He pumped his fist in the air.

In the end, he was able to acquire alien knowledge and technology from Yasmin, and with Penrose’s endorsement, he was able to obtain a position at FORCOM and AASPINT, thus rising to the position of Institute Director.

And now, even Yasmin, the thorn in his side, has suddenly disappeared on her own. How did he get so lucky?

Damien skipped around the room, his whole body filled with joy.

Then suddenly, he stopped moving.

There is another obstacle to his peaceful future.

“Abigail.....”

The report also mentions the name Abigail, unknown whether she is alive or dead.

–Everything is an ugly hatred, borne of jealousy.

Perhaps it is a result of his elite upbringing. For him, males had to act as obedient servants, and females had to be his slaves to be controlled as he wished. He would never allow anyone to be more superior than himself. Especially when it came to a woman of unknown origin–.historical

Rumor has it that Penrose is going to launch a counteroffensive by forming a special military unit with surrounding forts. Such a force would be on the scale of a division.

Through AASPINT, Damien has put out a warrant for Abigail “again” for traitorous acts. With everything that has happened, Penrose will not interfere. The 88 Division will be comprised of Fox’s team. He has heard that they are also black ops that secretly handle assassination missions. They will eventually find Abigail and take care of her.

–In fact, Damien had already sent Yasmin a request to kill Abigail once before. The day after the news of her return.

At the time, Yasmin had brushed off the notion. There was no way she could do such a thing while preparing for the election, but when she heard that Abigail was investigating the 89 defense and 89 irregularities, she quickly switched her course.

Yasmin released Garnier from his cell with instructions to kill Abigail, who was sniffing around, while she was trying to eliminate the misconduct of 89 defense.

However, Abigail narrowly escaped the assassin’s blade. It was a swift action by Penrose, who had sensed Yasmin’s assassination plot, and took action to protect her.

Penrose is a man who values talented people. He was not willing to sacrifice Abigail, a valuable asset, for Damien’s personal grudge.

Damien had been Yasmin’s dog, but Penrose remained on equal footing with Yasmin. They kept each other in check for more than 20 years, sometimes working together, at other times crossing paths. He’s doing all that against the prodigy of the Miforsis. This fact alone would attest to Penrose’s outstanding abilities.

“By chance, It would be a problem if you come back again. I’ll make sure you die for sure this time Abigail.....”

Damien cleared his throat in his own room, where no one could hear him.

“–Hm, it’s hard to imagine that she’s in still one piece after that situation, but.... that woman is tough enough to survive being held captive by aliens..... What a cockroach.....”

It was then a sound of thunderclap was heard all over the world.

Damien heard it too. Or better put, he felt it. It was a thundering sound that surged from deep within his body, not into his ears. He immediately sensed that it was a supernatural phenomenon.

Soon after, aliens began to appear in various parts of the earth. This extended not only to the front lines but also to the inner regions. Tension rose in FORCOM as they wondered if a new gate had finally opened behind the front line.

Confusion reigned for several days, but as intelligence began to consolidate to FORCOM, it became clear that this was not an elaborate attack by the aliens.

—The world has been transformed and patched together.

It was hard to believe at first glance, but based on the locations of alien appearances, changes in terrain, and the location of the cities, it could only be interpreted as such.

It was still unclear what the principle behind it was, but earth and the alien’s world were getting woven together in a very complex way — very much like a labyrinth. Even the layout of existing cities had become distorted. One could reach the Australian continent by car from America. The situation was chaotic.

It was no longer possible to penetrate the thick clouds that covered the sky. Communication with the satellite had also been cut off. The universe was no longer observable.

The largest and worst global crisis in the history of the earth was taking place all over the world.

No one knew when or from where the aliens might attack. FORCOM was rather buzzing after being put in such a difficult situation.

–This predicament.

On the other hand, if only we could find the enemy’s base.

We can mobilize all the firepower that humanity has, and use it as a catalyst to lead this war to victory in one fell swoop.

The danger is not only against the human race. Aliens, too, are on the verge of destruction in the face of this situation.

This was like a boxing match in the final round, a close-quarters encounter in which neither fighter could back down. There is nothing left to do but to punch each other until one of them hits the floor.

“–Now if I can take the lead and get through this great disaster and finish off the enemy’s leader!”

Making a fist, his fevered eyes imagine the image of the World Government President raising his fist as the hero who saved the Earth

“Ugh!”

Damien’s face contorts with his chronic back pain, probably from exerting too much force.

He puts his hands on his hips and slowly sits down in his chair.

“–I hope no witch will attack me at this critical moment..”

Laughing to himself, Damien reached for a bottle of scotch.

“Phew, if that woman had flirted with me instead of that scruffy guy, she’d be daydreaming about being the first lady by now.”

He raises the glass and looks through it. The amber liquid shines by the lights from the ceiling.

“–Cheers. Goodbye Abigail my love....”

However, there are many things that even the elite do not know.

Growing up in a close environment, he is not familiar with the kind of knowledge that one would naturally acquire by living out in the wild.

–For example, many insects, not just spiders, use the “feigning death” technique to escape from their predicament when attacked by an enemy.

Feigning death has the outstanding effect of diverting the predator’s attention away.

Damien is smiling widely and sipping his glass of whiskey in the background.

Little did he know that the tarantula carcass that was supposed to be in the box is now shriveled up.

――There is no way that Damien would know that (Heraldic Spider) has the ability to molt and repair all wounds when it is promoted to the upper rank.

Through the amber reflection, Damien only sees a spectacular view of himself.

But above his head.

In the corner of the ceiling.

There, cold compound eyes glint.

An unyielding mini-tarantula with a cross mark inside a circle – the so-called on its belly – nodded its head along with Damien’s words.

“–Abigail....what a good woman. I should have drugged her and fucked her at least once if I am going to kill her anyway.....”

There was no way Damien could have known that this soon-to-be Titan spider was the one who adore Abigail as Big sis (boss) and also understand human languages.

The biggest mistake of his life is that he said about killing Abigail right in front of this spider.

Though tiny, the spider is a fearsome assassin capable of killing prey hundreds of times its size.

–a clear droplet fell into Damien’s glass.

“–....?”

–The next day.

Damian was found dead in his room.

The cause was diagnosed as acute heart failure.

He had been hit by a blade. The Gloden Witch’s unexpected strike had unintentionally left no evidence of her nemesis, burying him from the face of the earth.

It was a suspicious death of the next director of the FORCOM Institute. It should have been a major event, but his death was soon forgotten as local wars broke out all over the world.

Thus, the concept of a front line disappeared after this day when the little Titan successfully infiltrated the heart of humanity.

Aliens draw untapped magic power from the dragon veins of Earth.

On the other hand, Humanity plunders underground resources from the Mines and ore veins of Miforsis.

Each side is now able to obtain what it desires, and the alien war between mankind and aliens reaches a crucial moment.

Later, this moment is recorded in history as <The Thunder Struck>
