Mr. Fang’s Feisty Mistress

Chapter 251 Bedridden

"Liling, if you don't have any work place yet, Wenwen will accept you if you don't mind." Jian Cuifen said as three streaks of wrinkles appeared at the rear of her eyes.

She seemd to like this future daughter-in-law of hers very much, and was willing to assist her in any way she could.

At that suggestion, Fang Huiqing agreed with his wife immediately.

"Just come to Fang group. You were a business major and that too, one of the best graduating students of your set. We will surely need your help at the company." He said with a warm smile.

Instantly, Zhang Liling could feel the warmth radiating from the couple as the spoke to her.

Everyone liked being complimented and also the feeling of relevance.

There is no one who wouldn't like to feel important, and that's just how they made her feel.

Fang Bingwen tilted his head to side as his eyes sized the little woman that smiling from ear to ear. Releasing a soft sigh, he turned his gaze back to his parents.

"Liling had an offer from the company, but she had to leave for Paris urgently on her first day at work." He revealed before picking the napkin to wipe the corners of his lips.

In one sentence, he explained that Zhang Liling already got a job offer to work in Fang Group, but also ended up not reporting to work on her first day because of an emergency in Paris.

Everyone clearly heard what he said, but they only picked on the second half of his statement.

They all knew who lived in Paris, and it was no other than Zhang Liling's mother.

"There was an emergency in Paris?" Old Lady Fang inquired with creased brows as her gaze landed on Zhang Liling, searching for answers.

Zhang Liling nodded in response. And seeing that everyone seems to want an explanation from her from their concerned gazes, she chuckled lightly.historical

"A year ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancer, so I had to leave for Paris."

"What!"

"Cancer?"

"Did she go for Chemo?"

"How is your mother now?"

With the questions coming from the elders almost at the same time, Zhang Liling almost had a hard time keeping up with them.

But at least, Fang Bingwen who brought their attention to this issue, helped her out to explain things to the best of his knowledge alongside with her.

At last, everyone was calm again after learning the truth.

"What is wrong with hospitals these days? They can't carry out a proper diagnosis?" Old Mr. Fang asked with disappointment laced in his tone.

Turning to glance at the young woman beside her, the old lady said while gesturing with her hand, "Liling, I wonder the kind of family your Zhang people are. From the way that girl acted last night, it's obvious they don't know anything."

The old lady could still remember Zhang Xiaoling hinting at something else at her party last night. Now hearing the reason Zhang Liling left for Paris, she just saw how nonchalant they were about her affairs.

But how could someone come and spew nonsense without being sure of the information they were passing about?

Somehow, it had become clear of how Zhang Liling is treated in the Zhang family.

'Good thing she left.'

Hearing his mother say that, Fang Huiqing went into a deep thought after being reminded of something.

His gaze lowered to the plate of leftover food before him, lost in thought only he could fathom.

"Grandma, no one else knows about this. My mother and I chose to not let this information slip." Zhang Liling disclosed to the old lady.

Being aware of the condition and their stand in the Zhang Family, including the fact about Shi Wenqian wanting to harm her daughter, Song Jujing refused to disclose her illness to any of them, even before she found out it was a misdiagnosis.

She refused to dine with cameleons.

It was completely useless letting them share in her joy and sorrows because while some of them didn't care, others would use the situation for their good.

"It's good that you kept the news to yourselves." Jian Cuifen said with a nod.

The other elders of the family chipped in one or two sentences. This was not a family matter, so they couldn't talk at length about it.

After the matter had come to an end, Zhang Liling pinched Mr. Fang's thighs with a straight face ahead, but the man was not letting her off.

Despite knowing the reason she pinched him, Mr. Fang pretended to be oblivious to it as he asked with raised brows. "Do you need something?"

His tone sounded patient, but loud enough for everyone to him clearly.

Instinctively, everyone turned their gazes to them, and feeling their attention on her, Zhang Liling hurriedly shook her head. "Nothing."

But inwardly, she bellowed through gritted teeth 'Mr. Fang!'

After breakfast, Zhang Liling and Mr. Fang went back to their rooms to freshen up.

At the same time in one of the rooms at the Shu's...

Shu Rushi lay weakly with her back against the Queen-sized bed in her room. Her face was pale and her cheeks was flushed showing the high body temperature she had.

From time to time, her lips would moved as her weak voice resounded in the room, while a maid tended to her by the side.

She was currently on a call with someone as the phone placed on the left side of her place, moved slightly down her earlobe.

Her right hand sprawled beside her on the clean sky-blue sheets. A tiny tube was attached somewhere on her delicate wrist as a brown tape was used to hold it in place.

The end of the tiny tube in the vein on her wrist, was connected to a bag of IV fluid that was hung on an IV pole.

She was currently receiving treatment as she was down in health.

"I would have loved to go, but my parents insisted that I should stay behind. It was for my best, as I have been in bed sleeping day in and day out." Shu Rushi said to the person on the other end of her phone.

Her voice was very weak, showing just how sick she was.

Because of her condition, she was not allowed to follow her parents to the Fang's family party. Normally, she would have put up a fight giving how strong-headed she was, but she was even far too weak to sit up without feeling dizzy to argue with them.

Seeing her condition, Shu Rushi no longer bothered to out up a fight with them.

The person at the other end of the phone giggled. "Rushi, you missed something important."

"Something important? What could I have missed at my cousin's party?" Shu Rushi said with a tinge of arrogance in her tone.

Even in her sick bed, she was still unable to let go of the bar trait.

Shu Rushi believed that if anything important had happened at the Fang party, her parents would have mentioned it to her, but she what she didn't know was that her parents had somewhere else to go to that day.

They had indeed stepped into the banquet hall, but immediately it was time to go for their next appointment, they bid farewell to the old lady, so they were unable to see Mr. Fang come in with Zhang Liling, as they had already left before that time.

Shu Rushi on the otherhand, has been receiving treatment for a high fever she got since the morning of the previous day, hence the reason she missed Old Lady Fang's birthday party.

Ignoring her pride, her friend smiled as she got ready to disclose something to her.

"Rushi, let me tell you, you would be completely blown by this."

Without waiting for her reaction, the young lady continued, for she was far too impatient and couldn't wait to break the fresh news.

How good it felt to gossip.

"Your cousin came to the party with a woman."

"What?!" Shu Rushi excalmed as her eyes widened in shock.

Her weak voice was no where to be found as her tone was bustling with life.

Without warning, she sprang up from the bed, startling the maid by her side, who immediately came to assist her.

Despite the fact that she was in pain, Shu Rushi ignored it as she stiffled a groan.

"What did you just say? My cousin came with a woman?"

While Shu Rushi was still in shock, the maid that quickly came to help her out, was sure that the person she was speaking to must have moved the phone away from her face.

Truly, Shu Rushi's friend had moved the phone away from her ear, and was waiting for the sharp tingle her eardrum just picked, to disappear.

"She almost burst my eardrums." The young lady in her pink colour decorated bedroom, mumbled to herself with pouted lips.
