The Assassin’s Enemy Lover

Chapter 145

145 It was that Zi girl, no no no..... that Zi boy

A purple haired man dressed in a black high collar shirt with the of the cake shop placed down two plates one with a beautifully garnished piece of strawberry sponge cake and the other had mouth-watering crepes sprinkled with powdered sugar and assorted berries.

The customers smiled gracefully admiring the exquisite food on their plates and the waiter nodded at them before noticing a strange auntie sitting at a table outside acting suspiciously.

He excused himself before walking outside and interrupting the snooping woman. “Ahem,” he cleared his throat as he stood behind her. Because she had her neck twisted in a weird way she almost fell over when she heard him speak.

“Shh shh..... are you trying to get me caught?” she whispered while straightening up her posture. She pulled down her sunglasses revealing a beautiful pair of peach blossom eyes.

The waiter was stumped for a moment having recognized this person’s identity. The Marshal’s wife was a frequent customer of the cake shop with three or more purchases per week. If she didn’t come in person with her two little children she would order pastries and cakes to be delivered.

But today she was wrapping her head like a nun while snooping on people. The waiter was at a loss for words as he stood there with the plump service robot shaped like a ball floating beside him patiently waiting to accept her order.

The waiter lowered his head and said in a soft polite tone, “Ma’am...”

“Mn..... get me the usual and pack it up for me,” she said before turning her head slightly to peek through the gaps of the shrub.

Her sharp piercing eyes focused on the side profile of the young man and when she saw those cunning fox eyes and colorful lips like pink orchids she suddenly had a moment of enlightenment.

.....

It was that Zi girl, no no no..... that Zi boy. She knew something was up with these two but she didn’t have any evidence. This was something more than a simple relationship between classmates.

She knew her son hung out with Li Ran a lot but other than training and messing around in the virtual arena doing mech battles they never spend their time doing such time-wasting activities. It wasn’t her that said it but Yi Chen himself.

Now that very same person had come to a cafe voluntarily and bought someone a smoothie to sit in, not even take away. This mother was shocked beyond words.

What she didn’t realize was that her stringent son who was rarely influenced by strong emotions and able to approach every situation with a rational and impartial mind had searched on Starnet, ‘What activities to do with my crush,’ and this was one of the things that came up.

Her son had actually put so much effort into this one-sided date. If only she knew about it she would honestly be proud of him. At the rate at which he was going, she was afraid he was asexual or remained single for life.

The waiter hurried off not daring to linger any further around this great buddha lest he does something to offend her.

Yi Chen who had a heightened sense felt something was very wrong. But when he looked around there were only customers minding their own business. When Lin Ruoxi felt her son’s line of sight she hid behind the shrub and decreased her sense of existence.

Zi Han who had no idea he was being watched by an enthusiastic mother pushed back the iced coffee while mocking Yi Chen saying, “That is torture in a cup and you actually paid for it.”

Yi Chen smiled riley before picking up the cup of iced coffee and taking a few sips. It turns out it didn’t need a sweetener in it because it was especially sweet.

With a contented look in his eyes, he placed the cup down and stared at Zi Han who was still struggling to cleanse his palate with the smoothie.

Zi Han noticed his gaze hence he placed the cup down while asking, “Do you remember that picture of me on that fake date thing?”

Yi Chen, who recalled the exact picture Zi Han was referring to tried to act dumb by asking, “What picture?”

“The one on your hoverbike, do you have it?” explained Zi Han with his fingers lightly tapping the table.

Yi Chen pretended like he was seriously thinking about it before responding, “Oh that one. Why?..... Do you want it?”

Of course, he wanted it. He felt sexy in that skirt and wanted to keep it as a keepsake. “Yep, I was thinking of putting it as my avatar on Starnet and pretending I have a twin sister. I want to see how many perverts there are in class one,” he explained with a sly grin on his face.

What he meant by how many perverts in class one was the number of people who would view his profile picture as soon as he uploads it. Starnet had this feature that could tell one who had viewed the user’s profile and how many times they had done it.

This response however didn’t settle well with Yi Chen. He immediately replied, “I deleted it.... that very day.....”

Zi Han, “....”

Okay, he takes it back. He no longer wanted to be friends with Yi Chen anymore. The guy not only tore his plushy but he also deleted his picture. Was it so ugly that he couldn’t keep it for a couple of days? If he didn’t want it in his light brain he could have sent it to him first before deleting it.

“Class president you truly are heartless. You couldn’t even keep my picture for that long. Was it that ugly?” he asked with a look of annoyance.

Yi Chen who had thought his excuse was flawless suddenly felt guilty.

The reason why he lied with a straight face was because when he heard Zi Han’s reasons for wanting the picture his lips moved subconsciously and blurted out this excuse.

He knew how sexy that picture looked. Even he couldn’t keep it in the normal gallery folder of his light brain because it was too provocative.

Just in case his family gets hold of his light brain he chose to keep it in an encrypted folder so he could enjoy it every night before he goes to bed.

It was already too late for him to be saved. He had fallen deep into this trap and couldn’t extricate himself. He even wanted to order a body pillow with Zi Han’s face on it.

If it weren’t for the fact that he feared those little rascals would break into his bedroom while he is asleep he would have done it already.

He couldn’t wait to get his own room when he enlists so he can get that body pillow and hug it every single night.
