The Assassin’s Enemy Lover

Chapter 416

416 Sadly the groom is missing.

This terrible mood was carried over to the next morning. Judging from the dark circles on his eyes, Zi Han had barely slept. When he reached the kitchen the four people who saw him hissed with Lynn Feng having mistaken Zi Han for a walking corpse.

Zi Han scratched his disheveled hair while asking, “What are you all looking at? Haven’t you seen a handsome person before?”

Zi Xingxi couldn’t help but chuckle almost choking on her egg pancake. Zi Feiji pointed at the seat opposite him and asked, “Did you even brush your teeth? If you did then you would have seen your appearance in the mirror.”

Zi Han pouted his lips as he sat down before saying, “I did but my eyes were half closed.” He lay his head on the counter while sighing.

Why didn’t anybody tell him that coaxing a man was so difficult? His attitude when texting had changed from yelling to threatening then to soft coaxing but Yi Chen hadn’t said anything yet. It was so freaking hard.

Seeing his dejected appearance Zi Xingxi couldn’t help but worry thus he placed the back of her hand on his forehead.

“Uh... no fever... What do you want for breakfast?” she asked while pulling her hand back.

“I want ice cream,” he whispered and Lynn Feng’s brows arched before hitting the arrow straight on the head.

“Brokenhearted? Who would dare break this little cutie’s heart?” she said and Zi Han moved his face away burying his head in his arms crossed over each other on the countertop.

.....

Zi Feiji, “...”

Zi Xingxi pressed the back of his neck while asking worriedly, “I thought you two were getting along. How can you fight already? It’s only been a couple of hours.”

Zi Feiji who couldn’t bear seeing his grandson this dejected pressed his light brain and Old Lu who had just left popped up on the screen.

“Yes master,” he said and grandpa Zi suddenly said,

“Bring me the punisher. I am going to hit that Yi kid until it breaks.”

Secretary K, “...”

Lynn Feng, “Can I film that?”

“Uh uh no no need grandpa,” said Zi Han raising his head. He didn’t like seeing his baby in pain. To this day that slap still gave him nightmares.

“What happened between you two?” asked Zi Xingxi and Zi Han sighed deeply as he rested his cheek on his cupped fist.

“Promise me you all won’t overreact,” he said, and Zi Feiji who shouldn’t have overreacted already overreacted before promising anything.

“Is he pregnant?” he asked on impulse having forgotten that Yi Chen was a man and if anyone would be pregnant between the two of them it would be Zi Han. Lynn Feng couldn’t help but chuckle while Zi Xingxi glared at her father.

Zi Feiji seemed to realise his mistake so he coughed dryly while sitting back down. Who could blame him though? He had been caught with two surprise babies already. First, it was when Zi Xingxi’s birth mother got pregnant and two when his daughter came home announcing she was pregnant by the prince. He kind of had a psychological shadow.

“Not that’s possible. Just promise me you won’t freak out, especially you mum,” he said and Zi Xingxi crossed her heart promising but in truth, she did that because she could say she was scratching her chest thus it wasn’t a promise. This is why she refused to promise out loud.

Satisfied and unaware of his mother’s ploy, Zi Han continued to say, “I want to marry Yi Chen.”

Everyone, “...”

Zi Feiji, “Fuck no!”

The fact that grandpa Zi swore which was a very rare occurrence meant how serious this was.

Seeing the look on their faces wasn’t good, Zi Han hurriedly explained, “We planned on getting married when we got engaged back then so why not get it done now. We don’t even have to make it big. Will just pop up at the federation register office and... get married,” he said but no one else made a sound.

Zi Xingxi only had one question in her mind which was, ‘How good was the virtual rendezvous last night that her son woke up and decided they were going to get married?’

“Are you kidding?” asked Zi Feiji while Lynn Feng, Old Lu, and Secretary K congratulated him which was in stark contrast.

“Have you thought about where you will stay or the fact that you two can’t be out together in a public space? This... are you sure?” said Zi Feiji with worry written all over his face.

“We haven’t talked about it but I still want to get married,” he said while pressing his fingers nervously.

“Okay, but you have to Invite his mother. She has been rooting for you two longer than any of us. It would be a shame if she doesn’t witness such a beautiful thing,” said Zi Xingxi genuinely keeping to her word. She had interfered enough and things still progressed thus far. This relationship was predestined and even she couldn’t mess with fate.

“Xixi,” called out Zi Feiji having not expected her to be the first to cave in.

“What? Look at that face. Who can refuse him? He looks so sad,” said Zi Xingxi raising her son’s chin but his expression didn’t seem pitiful enough thus she pinched Zi Han’s thigh making tears form at the corners of his eye like he was about to cry.

“Ow,” he whispered while staring at his mother with an accusatory look on his face.

Zi Xingxi spoke through her teeth, “Play along. It’s for your own good.”

Zi Han understood the assignment thus he became teary-eyed and began to cry, “Wuwuwuwu grandpa, I love him.”

“Too much, you are doing too much. Tone it down,” she said through gritted teeth and Zi Han who had no degree in acting had to hone whatever acting skills he could master in order to guilt his grandpa.

Zi Feiji who had seen through their act waved his hand while saying, “Okay, okay. There is no need to pollute my eyes with such shaudy acting. Before that though, I want a mech battle with him in the simulator that is my only condition.”

Zi Han beamed as he got up to hug his grandfather. Zi Xingxi clapped her hands in excitement while saying, “Yay, my baby is getting married.”
