Chapter 568 - 568 Self abuse
567 “May the best man win.”
“Do you want to go?” she asked and Zi Han nodded her head like a chicken pecking at rice. Before she could even say they can discuss this later, Zi Han had already kicked off his slippers and run into the water.
Seeing that incomparable speed Lin Ruoxi said, “Boys and their toys, am I right?”
Zi Xingxi pushed up her sunglasses as she said, “I want to get into that water too and show them how it’s done.”
Lin Rouxi turned to look at her with a touched smile as she said, “Aww, but you aren’t going so you can keep me company.”
“Nope, I am not going because I don’t want to embarrass them,” she said with a slight quirk at the corner of her lips.
Lin Ruoxi, “...”
Zi Han who had to endure watching Yi Chen lose to his gloating father and father in law, couldn’t help but wish he could shake Yi Chen awake. Yi Zhen who had regained the childish spirit that he had long lost couldn’t help but splash water on his two kids and Zi Han.
He found it quite funny thus he laughed out loud only for his laughter to die down when he heard yelling coming from the beach.
“You! Don’t splash water on my boys!” yelled Lin Ruoxi and Ming Ming who had been splashed two glared at his mother like Wednesday Addams.
.....
Lin Ruoxi, “...”
“And daughter,” she said but even she knew it was too late. She had already offended Ming Ming.
Zi Xingxi comforted her friend saying, “You aren’t the only one who offended her today. I offended her as well and I am guessing she will retaliate sooner or later.”
Lin Ruoxi laughed nervously while saying, “She... she is not that type of girl,” but even she couldn’t believe her own words.
“Let me ask you something,” said Zi Xingxi as she leaned closer, “Do you think that lipstick thing was coincidental? She used your lipstick to draw intimidating lines on your opposing team’s faces and you think she doesn’t hold a grudge? Your daughter has found subtle ways to get back at you without making a big fuss. She won’t even brag about it when she does it. She won’t claim the credit.”
Lin Ruoxi, “...”
The person they were discussing was plotting her vengeance in the water like a hippopotamus.
“Forget it boy, you have nothing on this old man,” said Yi Zhen gloating. His son might have grown taller than him and surpassed him when it came to mech battles but he was still as slow at this as when he was a teenager.
“Oh wow, I know they are sore losers but I didn’t think sore winners were a thing as well,” said Yeoh Jun with his hands lazily leaning against the handlebar of the jet ski.
Zi Han couldn’t stand it. He wanted to prove to his father in law that his baby was the best. In fact, his baby was the best at everything even this. He had a suspicious feeling that Yi Chen was holding back or something because there was no way he couldn’t beat those two older gentlemen.
Zi Han swam over and hooked his finger at Yi Chen. Yi Chen leaned down and Zi Han whispered, “If you win against them both I will let you post what you wanted to post.”
Yi Chen’s eyes widened as he grabbed Zi Han’s hand and lifted him out of the water.
“Really?” he said as he looked at him over his shoulder. Zi Han wrapped his arms around Yi Chen’s waist and said,
“I am serious. Make me proud.”
Yi Chen bit his lower lip while scrutinizing his facial expressions as though to confirm if he was being serious. Yi Chen pecked Zi Han’s lips and Yeoh Jun couldn’t help but complain.
“Oh come on. Are we going to go again or you two are going to continue messing around?”
Zi Han got up and said to his father, “Pa, you are going down and you to uncle Zhen.”
The pair laughed mockingly. “There is nothing you can offer him that can make him win this race,” said Yi Zhen a little too confident of himself.
“Don’t say that otherwise, the face slap would be too brutal old man,” said doctor Kiet and Yi Zhen couldn’t help but point at him angrily.
“You!... Go hang out with your mother in law instead of talking nonsense here.”
“Why are you getting mad? I am just spitting out facts,” he said and Yi Youxi couldn’t agree more.

“Dad, don’t be surprised when dage beats you. He was just saving your face in front of uncle Jun,” said Yi Youxi.
“Fine, bring it on,” said the former marshal. From the moment he realised his son had surpassed him he would comfort himself that he had at least this. This was any man with a son’s most dreaded day. The day their son becomes better than themselves at everything. It gave off the illusion that their son no longer needs their father and like everything that loses its value they would be tossed to the side or discarded.
“Okay, let’s go,” said Yi Chen as he turned the jet ski around. The two of them gazed at the faraway boom they had to reach before turning back and Yi Zhen said, “May the best man win.”
Yi Chen smiled smugly and said, “I will.”
Yi Zhen, “....”
AAAAHHHHH whose son was this? He even knew how to talk his father down. Yi Feng blew the whistle he stole from grandpa Lin and the two set off in a hurry leaving behind a huge splash.
Zi Han placed Ming Ming on his shoulder because she couldn’t see that far. “Go dad go!” she yelled and Zi Han couldn’t help but complain.
“You are on my shoulders yet you are supporting the enemy?” he said and Ming Ming justified herself by saying,
“I need to butter him up so I don’t have help in the kitchen tonight.”
Zi Han, “...”
Yi Zhen who had been cocky this entire time suddenly realised halfway through what Zi Han meant. This son of his was definitely holding back on him before. He lost by a small margin but it was still a loss.
“Damn it. How is that possible? Is there anything else you have been holding back?” he asked and Yi Chen laughed while saying,
“I might have beaten you but you still have one more son who will never beat you in anything.”
Yi Youxi, “...”
“You don’t like it when I am at peace, don’t you?” said Yi Youxi after his brother sold him out directly.
“True. Youxi, do you want to have a go?” he asked and Yi Youxi refused. There was no way he was going to compete with his father at anything, well, except online games. That he was sure he would take his father to the cleaners with no doubt.
