The Assassin’s Enemy Lover

Chapter 66

66 Little Hanifa

On a not-so-distant abandoned planet, Zi Xingxi was standing atop a mountain sitting in Chronos’ cockpit. Her stretched-out arm was grasping at another mech’s neck and the person inside was stammering through a confession.

“AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Please don’t let go. Please I beg you.....,” said the man before wailing like he was about to die.

“Spill it,” commanded Zi Xingxi feeling a little exhausted. Another planet had had an unexpected attack by yet again a strange portal opening at the most random location killing thousands this time.

There were growing fears that the Capital Star was next thus she was under a lot of pressure from the Marshal to find the pattern. Now she finally found it but she wasn’t in the greatest of moods.

Streaks of lightning spread across the grey skies as violent wind blew by making the chilling atmosphere even more eerie. She just wanted to leave this place as soon as possible so she forced the other mech to hang off the cliff.

“We, we don’t... we don’t know who is behind it. All I know is that we would receive a location to pick up these devices shaped like pucks and we are given random locations to leave them, that’s all. Ple-please let me go,” cried the man as he struggle to restart his mech that had been disabled by a powerful electromagnetic pulse.

“Did anyone take a job for the Capital Star?” asked Zi Xingxi her expression darker than before. If such an attack happens on the Capital Star then she would have to go back and protect her son and father.

“I don’t, I don’t know. We don’t know each other. I, I just know that they are others and it’s usually people in desperate need of money. That’s, that’s all I know..... I promise. Ple-please let me go wuwuwuwu,” cried out the man but in the next second Chronos suddenly let go of the other mech.

Trembling from fear the man cried out even louder. As he saw his life flash before his very eyes his mech was suddenly grasped by the head and pulled back up but he was dangling in the air.

.....

“Dad, I am very busy right now. Because of you I almost dropped this asshole,” she said muting the crying sounds coming from the other mech.

Zi Feiji didn’t mince his words. He turned the camera towards Zi Han and said, “Isn’t your son a little too comfortable wearing skirts. Has he done it before?”

Zi Xingxi who looked a little tired just now leaned forward towards the floating screen and enlarged it. With a slight quirk of her lips, she leaned backwards and said, “He has worn it once or twice but why is he wearing a female uniform? Dad! Did you make him do it?”

Zi Feiji turned the camera back towards him and said, “He failed to finish copying the text so yuh... I changed the punishment. The skirt is a little too short though and he is refusing to let me change it.”

Zi Xingxi stifled her laughter while folding her arms across her chest. “If he is going to wear it at least he should look like a queen.”

“That’s what he said. Well, sort of. But how did you kn-,” said Zi Feiji only for Zi Xingxi to interrupt him,

“He has said it before. You can get him to wear it but he refuses to look ugly in it.”

“Well, that means I can do all those things I always wanted to do. If you didn’t complete copying those texts back then I would have forced you to go for a manicure, shopping and a wedding. Now, your son will do all that in your place.....,” said Zi Feiji before Zi Han yelled something near the hovercar,

“Grandpa, I am going to be late!”

“Got to go,” said Zi Feiji before cutting the call.

“Dad wait... Ugh, fuck,” swore Zi Xingxi as the call cut. It’s not because she wanted to stop him it’s that she wanted him to wait until she got there so she can get a manicure with little Hanifa too.

“Master, I am sure we can get there on time. We just have to butcher this man and cut him to pieces then we can go,” said Chronos but it soon muted itself when it felt the temperature in the cockpit chill to a freezing point.

With a loud bam, she slammed the other mech to the ground and crushed the head before ripping out a chunk of it and tossing it over the cliff. The man inside was exposed the moment his mech was ripped apart. He immediately struggled to breathe as the atmosphere of this dying planet was lacking in oxygen.

Chronos’ arm morphed into a laser cannon and as the energy gathered she asked, “Do you know that those devices you planted on Zinnia brought out a high-level beast with a thick armour during the morning rush hour and it killed thousands of people?.... Did you know that? All for what? For you to buy this junk of a mech?”

She clenched her jaw feeling little to no sympathy for this selfish person who sealed innocent people including school children to their deadly fate.

The man’s lips had already turned blue as the light in his eyes dimmed. His gasps became weaker and weaker as a tear slid down the side of his face.

Zi Xingxi suddenly pulled the trigger and a searing blast shot at the mech instantly vaporizing the man. The mech shook from the blast before it caught on fire. Zi Xingxi restricted the laser cannon and walked a few feet stopping next to a silver and red mech slightly shorter than Chronos.

“Let’s go. We might need to spend more time in the Capital Star for a while,” she said before Chronos took off to the sky.

“Yes ma’am,” replied Secretary K before raising his mech’s arm and completely obliterating the fallen mech eliminating all remaining traces. It seemed like the peaceful days of the federation were coming to an end.
