Chapter 367 - Fighting a Master Tier Mage

Chapter 367: Fighting a Master Tier Mage

Two shadows moved under the dim moonlight.

"I will take care of the bunch, you bring down the leader..." Lear said to Lisa who nodded before slowing down and allowing Lear to separate the people.

Lear immediately moved and the next instant, he had already appeared in between the group.

"Woah!!"

The people were naturally surprised to find a person appearing among them like a ghost and immediately jumped back.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

The weapons were immediately drawn and the people on the streets immediately began to scurry away.

"Who are yo-" the leader tried to interrogate but Lear wasn't keen on dealing with this bunch of weaklings.

With a simple push of his feet, he disappeared from his spot and planted his knee into the man's chest while carefully controlling his strength not to do much damage.

As the man went flying away, Lisa moved after him.

Lear then turned around to face the group. He was just here for Lisa, the next target was what Lear was looking forward to as that was what he could really call challenging himself.

It didn't take long before all the people were down lying under Lear's feet.

With that, Lear turned and went after Lisa. When he finally reached the place, he saw the man lying with a deep wound on his chest as Lisa stood before him with a pale face.

They soon left the place as a different person who had been on standby wearing their group robe took over to submit the people. After all, they had to be there to earn the reward and show it as their achievement.

Bahamut had of course carefully planned all of it. He wasn't going to do anything half heartedly once he decided on doing something.

As Lear and Lisa moved towards the next location, Lear finally spoke, "Umn...this about you and Lora."

Lisa gave him a strange look. He was again bringing her up.

Leat forced a smile on his face. But still he had been unable to sit quietly after going through her diary.

"You see...I know that there is some beef between you guys and something must have happened in the past. But don't you think, it's time to let it go...beside I am sure that you were kids back then...do you really need to drag it even now.."

Lisa looked at Lear as she spoke, "I am not dragging anything. It's her.."

Lear couldn't help but sigh helplessly. "Honestly, I think she is really regretting it. Why don't you try to talk and sort it out?.."

Lear knew that Lisa's memories were lost and what Lora really did was no longer remembered by her. But the thing which happened afterwards could still be sorted out...

"Oh, really? Then why did she never apologised to any of us? You said that we were kids and I too believed that it might have played some part in that....but now that I understand, she should understand it too...In that case, why is she not apologising? Why is her attitude still the same?"

Lear really wanted to scream that the idiot girl just couldn't bear the guilt. She didn't even have the guts to face Lisa..

In the end....

Lear gave up. He couldn't get through this girl. She only listened to Max, he had to bring Max into this....

...

On the other side, Max stood there looking at the man who was emitting a strong aura with murderous intent.

"How much bounty did the Dark Lord place on my head?" Max couldn't help but ask.

"It's quite satisfying you know....you have entered the Billion board.." the man said with a smile.

Even Max was surprised. He thought he would still be in the million board but to think the bounty on his head was in billions.

Only top level figures had that much bounty....like the Seniors of the Nobles Houses.

The man suddenly took a step forward and the next instant, Max pulled his head back as the blade of saber sliced through the air before him cutting a few strands of his hair along.

He was fast!

The man didn't give in and took another step forward as he made a slash.

Max took a step to the side and changed his posture, his black dagger immediately appeared within his hands and using it, he reflected the saber letting it pass through the side.

The man immediately realised that something was wrong and on a closed look, he saw a thin transparent long-sleeved cloak had formed on his body.

The man immediately gave up on close combat. He stuck his saber below piercing the ground.

"Mud Golem!"

With a shout, mud rose from the place where he struck the sword conjuring into a towering figure. Even though he called it a golem, it was lacking a definite structure and was more like a huge mud slime.

Max immediately retreated and with a flick of his hand, the dagger in his hands was replaced by the spear.

"Come!!" Max shouted as he activated via true spell.

"Roar!!!!"

A dragon's roar shook the alley as the mud golem collided with a water dragon. The scene looked from a movie as two creatures grappled with each other.

The water dragon aggressively attacked the mud golem even drilling a hole through its stomach. But the golem was tenacious and continued to push down the water dragon and dominate it.

The man smiled seeing the scene. But it didn't last long....

"Cree!!!"

A sky-piercing screech resonated as flames rose in the sky forming the figure of Phoenix.

"Finally..." Max smiled as he finally perfected his fire true spell.

With Phoenix joining the battle, the tides immediately turned.

"No!!..." The man said with a grim look in his eyes as he raised his saber once again. He fiercely made a jump and swung his saber down as mana exploded through his sword.

"Tsk.." Max clicked his tongue. He knew that he couldn't match him in terms of explosive force. This guy had more mana than he did.

The amount of energy Max was carrying was still in the realm of Expert Tier mage.

But he wasn't going to let him get away with ease.

Suddenly, the dragon and the Phoenix turned their attention away from the golem and rushed toward the incoming man.

"Boom!"

Flames exploded in the night sky while drops of boiling water rained down.

"Bang!" The man landed down on the ground as he shook the fire off of his body. His hand which was holding the saber was burned.

"This is your limit. I have played enough. You are going to die now..." The man said as he pointed his saber at Max.

"At your level, you could only dream of killing me. At least reach the mid level of Master Tier before even having those thoughts..." Max mocked.

"Haha...so you think you can kill me?"

"Nope. I am not that strong now. A few months later maybe...'' Max casually raised his shoulders.

"So..you are going to run away now?"

"Nope...kill you." Max said with a smile and the man's face immediately turned grim as anger filled his eyes.

"Obviously, it's not me, but.." Max took a pause before continuing.

"Us!" As Max spoke, another voice resounded and soon, another person landed beside Max.

"So you had enough of your testing, satisfied now?" Max asked the kid.

"Huff...well it was not bad. I am a bit disappointed though." Bahamut said as he showed Max his palm.

After taking a head on attack from a Master Tier Mage, even an Expert tier mages's hand would be torn apart from the recoil, yet there wasn't even a trace blood on his hand.

"Let's get this over.." Bahamut said and Max nodded.

"Follow my lead.." Max rushed ahead with the spear in hand.

"Tsk...just because you got one more doesn't mean you can change anything." The man said as he used his mana to once again display his saber technique.

"Clang!"

Max's spear collided with the saber and the next instant, Max felt a huge force coursing through his body but he didn't give in and just took a step back.

"Hmm...not bad.." the man said as the mana coursing through the sword increased and Max felt the pressure increasing.

"Desolate club!"

When Max heard the voice, he immediately spread his wings and with a single flap, he flew away borrowing the force of the opponent's attack.

Obviously, how could the man possibly have any chance to attack in that position. He immediately used his mana to raise a muddy mess for defense. It was habitual reaction.

But..

"Disperse!"

He wasn't allowed too...

''Boom!"

Bahamut struck, a clean hit landed on the man's very front. The man's nose immediately sunk as blood flew out of his mouth and nose.

"Pew!"

The next instant he flew out like a bullet. It seemed that he would fly out of the capital at this rate.

As if expecting this situation, Max had already moved.

"You are not going anywhere..." Max said as he raised his leg and brought it straight down on his face sent him back into the ground.

"Boom!"

The man tried to control himself as he got up from the crater and stared at Max with intense hatred. Nobody had dared to kick him in the face and yet not only was he humiliated but was being played by two kids.

"I will kill you!!!"

But suddenly he sensed someone approaching and immediately turned around as he punched with mana strengthening his fist.

He had no other choice after losing his saber.

"Bang!"

Bahamut's club collided with the man's fist and with a roar, he pushed him back while his hand turned into a blood mess.

Max knew Bahamut's strength was no joke especially when he was using his true spell.

The man didn't even take a breath after separating from Bahamut when Max dropped from above with the water dragon immediately burying the man into the ground.

"Boom!"

Blood immediately spilled out as the dragon's jaws tore apart the man's flesh making a bloody mess out of him.

"Aaahhh!!!" The man released a terrifying scream before gritting his teeth and forcing his hand into the dragon's head.

"Bang!"

His mana exploded within the dragon's body as water conjured by Max fell apart.

"Huff!... Huff...huff..." The man seemed to be on his last breath as he looked at Max and bahamut with deadly eyes. He had to get out of here. Something was wrong with these two....

Obvious the man didn't knew....the two descendants of human God fighting together.....it wasn't as simple as one plus one....

It was over....the moment the two decided to fight together, the man's fate was already sealed.

Bahamut took a step forward and the man immediately looked towards him but the moment he did, a spear pierced his chest.

The next thing he knew was Bahamut's club falling down on him.

"Boom!"

The group of young mages who had been fighting earlier looked at the scene from far. They were dumbfounded with what was happening.

How could a kid be that strong, not to mention even Max didn't seem that old.

"..''

"Is he dead?" Bahamut asked, looking at Max flying in the air.
