Chapter 440 - Meeting The Girl

Chapter 440: Meeting The Girl

"Hello, Master Tyler..." Janet said with a smile as she walked towards them.

"How are you doing, Miss Janet?" Tyler replied with a smile.

"I am fine, thank you.."

"You don't need to be so formal, he is my best friend.." Max said as he slapped Tyler's back.

Tyler's face twitched but he still nodded with a smile.

Janet looked at Max a bit surprised. She had no idea how he knew him...

"I will leave now...I seem to have taken enough of your time.."Tyler said as he gave Max a last look before leaving.

Janet then brought Max together as they went to see everyone from the 12 Houses.

"Aria you are looking so pretty..." Janet smiled as she looked at her.

Aria smiled and then looked at Max. There was a bit of expectation but unfortunately.

"What?" Max asked as he looked at her.

"You need to praise her....did you forget?" Janet asked as she nudged him with her elbow.

"Yeah, you look good.." Max said with a smile. He thought that he only needed to do that with strangers. Wasn't it fine being normal with her?

Aria definitely wasn't happy with that. But still smiled.

"You are finally someone with enough status, now?" Aria smiled. Max would have to face less trouble now..he had a backing to rely on...

"What would I do with it?" Max asked as he shook his head.

"You can marry her with that status of yours now.." Lisa chimed in as she joined the group.

"Y-You...what are you saying Lisa?'' Aria blushed while glaring at her angrily.

"I was just giving an example..." Lisa replied but glanced at Max. From his expression, it seemed he still hadn't heard anything...

'Just what is going on? Neither Grandpa nor father are picking up my calls..' Lisa was worried. Last night didn't seem like a dream, but Aria wasn't aware of anything and the same was true for Max..

"You look beautiful today.." Max said with a smile as he looked at Lisa. Formality...was what he had in mind..

Lisa obviously didn't have any idea that he was being formal with her. Her heart thumped for a second as she looked at that smile. Max was truly looking good today...

"Uhm...well you are not looking bad as well.." Lisa said as she cleared her throat a bit.

At this moment, an old man came towards them specifically looking for Max. Max knew the guy, he was the old man's butler.

"Young Master, the Lord has called for you.."

Max nodded and then left the hall along with the old butler.

Lisa looked at him, she was having a bad feeling about this.

"Where is Elly?" Janet asked as she looked around.

"She is right thr-" Lisa turned around to the place where Elly had been sitting all along.

But at this moment, the seat was vacant.

"Where did she go?" Janet too couldn't find her around.

"Must have gone to the washroom.." Aria said with a calm look.

...

Max followed the old butler and went upstairs where the Senior guests were being entertained.

They crossed the second floor and directly went to the third floor.

When they finally reached the place, the old Butler just stood outside and asked Max to go inside.

When Max entered the chamber, he saw the old man as well as Lisa's grandfather

There was another person lying in the corner of the room. His face was pretty messed up and even his clothes were torn at places. He seemed oddly familiar to Max but he couldn't remember him..

When the person saw Max enter the room, he slowly raised his hand towards Max with a begrudging look in his eyes.

Max frowned, but still greeted the two old men.

"You are finally here..." Lisa's grandfather sighed as he looked at Max. There was a complicated look in his eyes.

Max looked at them and then at the person in the corner. He couldn't understand why they were acting like the fellow didn't exist.

"Don't pay attention to him, he is my foolish son..'' Lisa's grandfather waved his hand.

Max looked at him and the next instant, his eyes went wide.

'He is the Mage King!!!!' Max looked at the fellow again. He just couldn't believe it. Just what had happened here...

The guy was still glaring at Max, as if he wanted to tear him apart.

'What did I do? If it's about Lisa, isn't this guy a bit too late?' Max wasn't sure about it.

"I have something important to tell you..." Max's grandfather suddenly said with a calm look in his eyes.

Max looked at him silently.

"I engaged you.." the old man said with a calm look.

"I know.." Max said as he looked at him weirdly.

The old man shook his head, "I engaged you again.."

"I don't think it was dissolved in the first place.." Max frowned. He was having a bad feeling about it.

"I know...your previous engagement isn't dissolved. You have another fiance now.." the old man said with a calm look.

Max looked at him, this old man wasn't being serious was he...

"The girl is in the next room waiting for you...go and meet her.."

Max's twitched when he heard those words. This wasn't happening with him...how was this possible!!!!

He was about to erupt when he realised that he wasn't alone with the old man here. He couldn't just shout at the Lord.

Max looked at Lisa's grandfather. The old man would never allow this. He was very confident about it. But the old man just sat there with a helpless look on his face.

'What are you doing old man? Say something!!!!' Max shouted internally. But the old guy still didn't move.

"I love Lisa. I can't do this to her..." Since the didn't move, Max tried to make the old man move with his words.

Lisa's grandfather looked at Max with guilt. Max still loved her even though she broke his heart. He did the right job sticking to him...he would definitely keep her happy...if he let Lisa go on like that she would surely ruin her life...this was the right thing to do..

Max looked at Lisa's grandfather but he only saw a pitiful look in his eyes. He still didn't show any signs of moving.

"Come with me..." The old man waved his hand and took Max with him, appearing in the sky above.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?!!" Max finally couldn't hold it back.

"Making you happy...doing what's beneficial for the family.." The old man replied with a calm look. He couldn't do the right things as a grandfather, now he won't fail as a Lord.

Max's face twitched again. He finally realized what the last night was all about.

F*ck!

He should have cleared it all last night!!!

''I asked you to use me...why the hell are you bringing other people into this?!!" Max glared at him.

"I don't care about others but only my own.." the old man replied Max calmly.

"Cancel it!!" Max waved his hand.

"Not possible.." the old man said with a calm look.

The frown on Max's face turned deep.

"The Walkers won't accept this..are you trying to start a war?!! How is this beneficial?!!"

"They accepted it.." the old man replied.

Max's eyes widened, 'Impossible!!!' He couldn't believe it. This must be a dream!

"Does Lisa know about this? You can't do this to her..'' Max knew that this wasn't unfair to Lisa. Without her consent,? it shouldn't be possible. As long as she asks her father or grandfather, they would definitely do something about it.

"She gave her consent and Walker's respect her decision..'' Max's body trembled. His eyes turned red for a second.

'Lisa!!!!!!!!!!'

He understood everything now. Why did she change the topic in the morning, why was she so quiet...

That girl...

"I don't believe it... Lisa's grandfather will kill me for accepting this...." Max said with a frown.

"You don't need to worry about it. I took action for it in advance..." The old man said with a smile.

..

Last night..

The two old men returned after talking to Lisa.

historical

Lisa's grandfather was hoping that Max might as well refuse it while Lorenz Lord's thoughts were quite opposite of his.

When they arrived, the Edwinson Lord cleverly told them that Max had laughed at the proposal saying it with utmost confidence that, "Lisa will give my decision.."

The two old men froze after hearing that. Lisa's grandfather didn't know what to say, Max had shown his trust in Lisa....but the girl...

No one said anything but the decision was made...

...

"Leave it be...tell me how do I solve this?" Max asked as he looked at him.

The old man looked at him and sighed, "It isn't possible anymore...give up.."

Max frowned. Like hell, he was giving up...

He was a man of principle...Lisa was still fine, even if it was wrong...it wasn't that wrong...it was still within the limit.... but now...

"There is still one way...I just need to make that girl withdraw.." Max's eyes flashed in realisation.

"Who is she?" Max asked as he looked at her.

"Go and have a look...I promised her old man to keep it a surprise.."

"Surprised my a-" Max held himself back, it still wasn't right to curse at him...

With that, they returned to the room and Max quietly walked out...

As soon as he was gone, Lorenz Lord emerged in the room.

"I didn't tell him about her.." Edwinson Lord said with a calm look.

Lorenz Lord thanked him before disappearing again. He hadn't told Elly about it as well...it seemed Lisa hadn't said anything to her as well..

He wanted to see Elly's reaction...he still wasn't sure about it...even though he fixed it...he was still feeling that he might have done wrong..

As for what he would do after seeing her reaction, he didn't know. Maybe he would try to find some alternate way...or...sigh! ...he had no idea...but he had to see it...

..

Elly sat there in the room. A while ago, a servant had brought her here to meet her grandfather.

After that, the old man asked her to wait here for the person and then left..

She was trying to appear calm, but one with a good eye could see that she was a bit nervous.

At this moment, the door opened and she stiffened for a second before standing up.

The next instant, a pair of familiar eyes met with her with a dumbfounded face.

"Pfft!"

Elly couldn't help herself. The scene from yesterday and the look on his face, it was more than enough for her to have a rough idea about it.

Max's face was extremely ugly...it was not only because of the laughing girl, but because of his own words from yesterday...which were still ringing in his head...

Unknown to the two, an old man who was snooping around broke into tears. He was happy for her granddaughter. The girl who rarely smiled was laughing.. he didn't need to see anything else...it was enough...his heart was finally at ease....
