Chapter 578 - Getting A Job Done

Chapter 578: Getting A Job Done

'Hahahah!!!!' Max let out an evil laughter inwardly. He didn't know what Melinda had done. But, it had to be something great if she could make Roman compromise with his archenemy.

A plan slowly began to form in Max's mind.

'Damn! I am a genius!' He couldn't help but praise himself.

Now, he only needed to see if Roman had enough patience or not. Well, it was more accurate to say if Melinda had put enough pressure on him or not.

Because, if she did, Max would be gaining a lot of success today. He was sure that he would be able to force Roxley and Barnes to stop fighting at least on the surface for sure. Even Roman would end up having his hands tied as long as Max succeeded.

"Let's go, we are getting late," Roman said as he turned around and walked ahead.

"Uncle, just follow my lead and let me handle the situation." Max typed the message in his phone and showed it to Ander.

historical

Andre was obviously surprised. But since Max had asked for it after being such a help to him, he didn't refuse it.

When Max saw Ander nod, a smile broke out on his face.

Roman had already walked half the way through the hallway when he realized that Max wasn't following him.

He immediately turned around and saw Max still standing there.

What pissed him even more, was the fact that he was happily chatting with Ander.

"What do you think you are doing?" Roman asked as he walked back to them.

"I am sorry, but I won't go with you. I even promised him a dinner after you refused me one. And, I can't leave my guest unattended," Max replied with an apologetic smile.

Roman's face began to turn dark.

"Young kids shouldn't be disrespectful to their elders and refuse their invitation. Not to mention, people definitely don't do such a thing to me in Trinity," Roman said with a frown. His tone obviously contained a threat.

"Sir, are you trying to threaten me? I don't think you invite guests like this. Won't people complain if you do this?" Max put an extra emphasis on the word 'complain' and it immediately reminded Roman of Melinda's warning. She had explicitly mentioned that she didn't want to hear any complaint from Max.

"Hahaha!!! I was just joking. How could I dare to threaten my daughter's friend?" Roman instantly tried to laugh it out, but he wasn't fooling anyone here.

"Let's do one thing. I will just pay for your guest's dinner. And, you come with me." Roman was willing to even feed his archenemy if it meant getting Max to come along with him.

"No way, I don't trust him. He will poison the food probably," Ander was quick to take a dig on Roman when he was down.

Roman's face twitched and he glared at Ander. He really wanted to tear him apart.

"I am sorry, but I don't think it is possible." Max shook his head and it left Roman going crazy.

"Let's get you two some dinner first. Afterwards, just come with me for a bit. I am sure that everyone will be happy.'' Roman looked at Max with a bit of expectation.

" Umn...that isn't possible. I can't just leave this Sir alone, I was actually assigned to him. I am sorry but I can't leave him." Max shook his head.

Roman frowned, it indeed seemed that Max was telling the truth. After all, there was no other reason why Ander would be meeting him at this time.

"Let him come with me for a bit," Roman turned his attention towards Ander and commanded him after failing on Max's end.

"No, I won't." Ander refused with a straight face.

"Y-You!" Roman really was fuming in anger. But before he could do anything, Max came in between.

There was no way he could hurt him. Because, if he did, Melinda would definitely chew him out. So, he could only retract his fist while holding back his anger.

"Is it really that urgent for me to come?" Max asked with an innocent look on his face.

Roman clearly had no idea that he was about to be beaten at his own game.

"I really feel bad about what happened. I wish you would give me another chance to make up for it. I am willing to do anything for it. You are my daughter's friend after all. If she finds out that you left because of me due to a misunderstanding, she will definitely hate me. I don't want that to happen." Roman really looked sad. It looked genuine. Honestly, if Max and Ander weren't aware about this prick's nature, they would definitely be fooled by him.

"Sir, can you really not allow me to go with him?" Max turned around towards Ander and asked with a genuinely concerned look on his face.

Even Ander was fooled for once and almost nodded. But, after remembering Leo's request, he shook his head, "No, you will have to stay by my side. You know the reason; I don't think we need to tell it to anyone else."

'Barnes..' Roman was fuming inwardly.

"How about we all go together? I am sure that wouldn't be a problem to anyone. Not to mention, we were going to have dinner anyway. And, I am sure that they would have enough to feed one more person, " Max suddenly said with a smile as he shifted his gaze at Roman, "How is it, Sir?"

"No way! Like in hell, I am taking this person along with me!" Roman immediately refused.

Ander was surprised as well, but he understood that Max wanted to take him to Roxley House for some reason.

"See, even if I agree, he definitely won't." Ander sighed before looking towards Roman.

"In that case, we don't have any choice I guess.." Max shook his head while observing Roman's expression.

Roman frowned but shook his head. No matter what, he couldn't bring the guy home.

"How about this? We take him along with his disguise on. I am sure there won't be any problem that way," Max said as he looked at Ander.

Roman looked at Ander and as he was about to refuse it, Ander spoke first, "No, I am not doing it. I have my pride. If I am going to walk in someone's house, I need to be treated to be an equivalent."

This immediately made Roman rethink it once again. If he brought Roman inside with perfect disguise, no one would identify him. More like, no one would come to identify him with Roman by his side. He also didn't need to treat him like a Lord.

Most importantly, he could save himself from Melinda.

"Sir, he is being kind and didn't hold any grudges about you coming here at the last moment without any information. Shouldn't you repay him that favor?" Max turned his head towards Roman and winked at him.

Now, it was time for results.

Roman seemed to be hesitating about it. In the end, it didn't seem like he could come to terms with it.

"Ring!"

As he was about to refuse, his phone began to ring. It was from his wife, Melinda.

He put the phone on silent and raised his head to look at Ander with a frown, "You are not going to repay the favor, Barnes? Even the young ones understand it. Don't tell me you are going to show him how ungrateful the Barnes are?"

Both Max and Ander exchanged a glance and smiled inwardly.

Their job was done.
