Chapter 580 - I Can Do This....
Roxley House, Trinity.
"Shall we go together tomorrow?" Janet asked with a smile as she looked at people around her. She was talking about their plans to visit Elly's aunt.
"Sounds good to me," Lora said with a smile.
"I don't have any problem as well.:" Elly replied.
"Lora, why don't you show them our house. It's their first time visiting here after all," Melinda said with a smile and it immediately rang bells in Lora's head. She had clearly forgotten about it.
"I am fine here," Max said with a smile and allowed the rest of the people to leave.
"Did the food suit your taste?" Melinda asked Max with a smile.
"It was good," Max replied with a nod.
"How has the competition been? It's a pity that you had to pull out. I was really expecting to see a lot from you." Melinda said as she shook her head.
"I am sorry for that, but I am sure there will be a lot of people with surprises to come," Max said with a smile.
"And, who do you think they will be?" She asked with a curious look on her face.
"Well, there will be a lot. But, my favorite one will definitely be Lear." Max's lips curled up into a smile.
"He sure is another favorite of mine," Melinda replied with a nod too.
"Now that's a surprise. I didn't think you would have him as a favorite considering the relationship with Barnes house."
Melinda sighed and then shook her head, "I don't care about those things. Time has changed and we need to change with it as well. This pointless fighting is doing us more bad than good.
"Well, I think Lear and Lora would stop that pointless fight soon," Max said with a meaningful smile.
"What do you mean?" Melinda feigned ignorance, but Max wasn't having it.
"It's not something hidden to me. Isn't that the reason that the Lord got angry at my presence?" Max asked, looking at her.
"If that's the case, then you should know that with him here, there isn't any hope for Lear." Melinda shook her head. "My daughter is a Princess, if he wants to have her, he really have prove himself in front of her father."
"No one else can help him here," She further said and then shook her head.
"Where there is a will, there is a way..." Max smiled at her.
"You can do it, is that what you are trying to tell me?" Melinda looked at Max with an amused face.
Max just gave her a silent and confident smile.
"If you really can, then go ahead and try to help out your friend." She further added in a joking manner. She hadn't been able to get Roman to even talk about it much less getting his approval.
If she used her usual demeanor, she might have been able to bring Roman to the discussion table. But, she clearly didn't want to do this. After all, it was a decision considering their daughter's life and both of them had equal share of their concern and love towards her. So, forcing him like that didn't seem right to her.
Not to mention, even if she forced him, it was very likely that he would refuse it in the end. After all, he might be helpless in front of her in a normal situation, but when it came to their daughter he was a different man.
"Are you sure about it? I can definitely get it done. Even if it means being a bit extreme." Max looked at her with a smile which literally said, 'I can do this,,'
Melinda couldn't help, but laugh inwardly. She knew Max was really strong. But it was only in comparison to the younger generation. His strength wasn't going to help him out here. As for his wits, Melinda doubted that he could compare to her. And, she had already failed it a dozen times
In the end, she just nodded to him, "Fine you can try it. I don't mind bearing the consequences as long as there is some progress in the matter."
"Bang!"
Suddenly a loud noise sounded from upstairs and it immediately made the two frown. The one who had gone above were Ander and Roman. Two had earlier disappeared. But, it seemed they were back now and such noises were definitely not something that they could take sportingly.
Melinda got up to have a look and Max immediately followed behind. When the two reached upstairs, they saw Ander and Roman together, hugging each other. It was obvious that they had realized that someone was here. So, they had decided for a moment of truce to put on an act.
Both of them looked haggard and half dead. Only god knew what they had done after disappearing to end up like this.

"What's going on with you two?" Melinda asked with a frown, but they just feigned ignorance.
"Hahahaha!! We just got a bit heated up remembering the old times," Roman laughed it out.
But no one was going to buy his words. It was a blatant lie. Even an idiot could tell it apart.
At this moment, hurried steps sounded and a person burst into the room.
It was the Butler of the mansion.
"Why are you rushing here at this time? Don't you know we are having guests?" Melinda frowned seeing him.
"My Lady, there is a huge problem!!!" The butler was freaking out. He seemed extremely nervous and was sweating all over.
"What's going on?" Both Roman and Melinda's expressions changed. Even Ander seemed interested in the matter.
"Look at the news! It's terrible! The Elder's have already called the Lord several times and are requesting an urgent meeting." The butler further added and this immediately made the environment extremely tense.
Max slowly took a step back and got beside Ander, "Uncle, do you remember your promise?"
"What promise?" Ander asked om confusion.
"You aren't going to reward me for my meritorious deed of keeping an eye on Aunt?" He asked, looking at him.
Ander was really speechless, but he still spoke in the end, "Yeah, I will arrange it for you once I get back. Just tell me what do you want? "
"Forgiveness.." Max said with a smile.
"Huh?" Ander looked at him in confusion.
"Just forgive me once for any trouble I cause, ok?" Max asked with a sweet smile on his face. This immediately made Ander have a bad feeling about it. But there was no way he could leave Max unrewarded. Especially, after he had just asked him what he wanted.
At this moment, Melinda switched on the television and the news being broadcasted on the news channel left everyone's eyes popping out in surprise and shock.
