Chapter 316 - Fallen Into The Trap
“Do you need to take a break?” Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t pry about his personal matters, so she could only remind him indirectly.
“Sorry, I let my emotions affect my work. Let’s stop for a minute.” The photographer had a decent attitude.
Now that it was noon, the company had someone send lunch to Yun Xiangxiang. She would have it first before reapplying her makeup.
The company even sent lunch for Song Qian and Ai Li. It was a great lunch, and Yun Xiangxiang ate it happily.
Before she could finish her lunch, Ai Li came over, looking rather grave. “Xiangxiang, I need to go out for a minute.”
“What happened?” Yun Xiangxiang asked worriedly.
“I saw a friend of mine; it’s a very important person.” Ai Li sounded anxious.
Noticing Ai Li’s reluctance to keep on talking, Yun Xiangxiang nodded. “Go, but be careful.”
After Ai Li had left, Yun Xiangxiang asked Song Qian, “Does Ai Li’s friend work in the same line of work as she does?”
“En,” Song Qian knew Ai Li very much. “She doesn’t have any friends except for those who have gone through life and death with her.”
historical
“If Ai Li cares about her friends this much, why did she leave?” Yun Xiangxiang was curious.
“Her best friend died for her in a mission; they were betrayed by someone they trusted the most.” Song Qian didn’t hide anything she knew from Yun Xiangxiang.
Since she employed Ai Li, she had the right to know a bit about her past.
“Then...” Yun Xiangxiang wanted to ask something, but she didn’t say it out loud.
“Don’t worry. If the young master is willing to hire her, that means she doesn’t have enemies or bad blood with anyone.” Song Qian explained.
“I am not worried about whether she would bring me trouble; I’m worried she might be in danger.” Yun Xiangxiang explained too.
She trusted the people Song Mian hired for her, but she was concerned about Ai Li since Ai Li saved her in the past.
“I understand.” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t ask because she was worried Song Qian might misunderstand.
Yun Xiangxiang took a short rest after lunch. When she was about to go back to shooting, the person in charge of the building came in and told them that their car was crashed, and they needed someone here to go down and negotiate.
“Yun, we’re going to shoot now.” Yun Xiangxiang was about to go down when the crew on the other side came to inform them.
“Sister Qianqian, you go take a look, I’ll go for the shoot.” Yun Xiangxiang asked Song Qian to go.
But when Yun Xiangxiang got to the studio, all the crew inexplicably left, and soon, only Yun Xiangxiang was left in the studio.
She went to the safety box to get her phone, but she couldn’t get a signal no matter what she did. When she found out that the private phone Song Mian had given her was also missing, her heart sank.
She called out to the crew twice, but nobody responded to her. Yun Xiangxiang wore the ring Song Mian gave her, took her phone, and left the studio.
Not a soul could be seen on the corridor Yun Xiangxiang was on. She quickly ran toward the elevator, glancing at her phone every so often as she dashed, and yet there was still no signal.
“Stop!” Yun Xiangxiang suddenly heard Song Qian’s voice, and she ran in the direction of her voice.
Before she arrived, she heard something banging against each other. When she turned the corner, she saw someone pushing the door and running in another direction.
She didn’t have time to chase after the person. When she opened the door, she noticed Song Qian lying on the floor. Yun Xiangxiang quickly got her up. “Sister Qianqian...”
When ‘Song Qian”s hair fell to the sides and revealed her face, Yun Xiangxiang saw that it was not her friend. They wore the same clothes and had similar figures, but the face belonged to a stranger.
Yun Xiangxiang felt a stab of pain in her thigh. When she looked down, she noticed the mini syringe the woman stabbed her with. She didn’t know what was in the syringe, but it took effect quickly.
It didn’t take a moment for her to start feeling dizzy. The whole room was spinning around faster and faster; before she blacked out, the last thing she saw was a recorder.
He Wei was suddenly called away; Ai Li saw her friend; the photographer who had to stop the work halfway through.
They crashed their car and got Song Qian away from her; they recorded Song Qian’s voice and played it here to take notice.
It was a trap within a trap. An elaborate trap like this would require a lot of resources and manpower. There was only one person who would go through this trouble to trap Yun Xiangxiang – Faye.
Yun Xiangxiang knew Faye was off her rocker – insane, even – so she didn’t want to make enemies of her.
Yun Xiangxiang kept the recording just in case Faye did something outrageous again. If she stayed in line, this voice recording would be kept a secret from the public.
She thought she at least showed mercy, but she didn’t know Eric forced his daughter to marry just because she wanted Faye to forget about Song Mian.
Since she was a child, Faye was someone who had gotten whatever she wanted. Thanks to that, she grew up to be a narcissist.
What Eric did infuriated her; she thought Eric didn’t see her as his daughter anymore.
Since that was the case, she wouldn’t respect Eric as her father; she would no longer care about what the Cardicra Family would do to her, or the price she would have to pay.
Forcing her to marry someone she didn’t love was already pushing her into a living hell.
If she was going to live in hell, she had to drag the one who made her live like this into hell.
Over these past few weeks, she pretended to be an obedient daughter who listened to her father. She even suppressed her disgust and dated with the boys her father liked.
Now she finally had the chance to capture Yun Xiangxiang. After the previous accidents, she wouldn’t allow herself to fail for the third time.
She calculated every part of the trap in painstaking detail; she investigated everything about the people on Yun Xiangxiang’s side.
When Yun Xiangxiang was sent to her car, Faye smiled cruelly. “He’s not here yet?”
“Miss, he seems to be in some trouble,” the driver answered Faye. “Do we need to change our plans?”
The driver drew a line across his throat, suggesting that they kill Yun Xiangxiang.
“Killing her will be too easy on her. I want to sell her to a place where even Song Mian can’t find her; I want her to live her days in hell...” Faye’s gaze was sickeningly cold; she was a venomous snake that slithered in the dark.
“But miss, the people we have contacted are in trouble. It wouldn’t take long before her companions find out she’s missing.” They didn’t have time.
They couldn’t contact another person to stall Yun Xiangxiang’s friends. If they didn’t dispose of the girl now, the Cardicra Family could be put in a difficult position if this were to get out.
The driver might be helping Faye, but he was a part of the Cardicra family, so he had to consider the family first.
“I’ll go back first. You’ll take care of everything here, and remember to stick to the plan.” Faye thought she had to go back immediately.
It wouldn’t take long for someone to get to Faye when they found out Yun Xiangxiang was missing. When she was about to get off the car, she saw the scented ball Yun Xiangxiang was clutching.
Yun Xiangxiang never left this ball alone after Song Mian gave it to her; even when she was shooting the promo ad, she put it near her.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t know where this scented ball came from, but Faye did; it was something Song Mian bought from an auction in England, and it cost him a lot.
Jealousy flashed in her eyes. Faye snatched the scented ball and was about to throw it out, but she thought this would be leaving a clue for Yun Xiangxiang’s friends.
