Chapter 741 - 741 Mysterious dust under the dark clouds
741 Mysterious dust under the dark clouds
While Vincent was in the air, slowly descending because of Awa’s cape, he saw Ester, Lupa, and Mimi reach their opponents.
Lupa shouted for two of them to attack her. Her confidence made two overly confident gladiators accept her challenge.
They pointed their swords before charging at her. When the three reached their striking zone, Lupa’s eyes shone goldenly. She swiftly evaded their attacks calmly and coldly before attacking.
Not too far from Lupa was Mimi. Unlike her, Mimi didn’t request. Instead, she increased her speed drastically as if she wasn’t running at her full speed.
Vincent could see Mimi shoot blood bullets at one gladiator while rushing to attack another gladiator with her rapier. He saw the two gladiators understand she wanted Lupa’s treatment.
With a confident grin on their face, one gladiator easily parried against the blood bullets, stepped forward, and rushed to attack. The other gladiator used his sword to deflect Mimi’s rapier attack while believing the commentator overestimated the power of the vampire race.
Vincent moved his gaze to the last fight taking place. Ester had arrived and initiated combat. She didn’t strike first. Instead, she moved her body to dodge horizontal, vertical, and angeled slashes eloquently.
[We do not need to worry for now. I can see that Mimi is playing with them, Lupa is evenly matched since she can not use Primal Insight all the time, and Ester is learning her opponent’s movements and moving her body accordingly.]
“Lupa is fighting normally, but I wonder why Ester is not going all out, and Mimi is not fighting seriously?” Vincent questioned.
.....
Awa thought Vincent wanted the others to fight seriously. “Night and I will go all out.” She told him.
Awa held Vincent’s hand firmly and continued, “Do not worry about me not fighting proudly. I will pull you down and assist you.” She reassuringly told Vincent before twisting her body as they slowly fell.
Before Vincent could utter a response, Awa spun and used the momentum to throw Vincent down with a lot of force. Because she did not know how to control her power, Vincent had to improvise on his rapid landing.
The time around Vincent slowed down because of Kazumi’s assistance. The five earth shards projectiles heading toward him started to slow to a stop before regaining speed.
Vincent moved his arms and contorted his body in mid-fall in preparation for the incoming projectiles. The audience became astonished when Vincent suddenly moved as if he could see the future while the commentator hyped Vincent, Awa, and Zero’s teamwork to the moon.
After Vincent deflected two projectiles with a backhand slap from each hand, he punched one, slapped another, and grabbed the last one, he landed on the back of a bear, and the earth shard in his hands shoved in its neck.
One of the familiars died instantly. Its body hardened and became like a statue. With every passing split second, a new crack formed.
Vincent didn’t give the commentator enough time to comment on the first kill. With his fist clenched, Vincent threw a strike at the closet bear with its large mouth open and the sharp teeth approaching his upper body.
Vincent lowered and tilted his body. His fist changed course and moved upwards, delivering a powerful uppercut to the bear’s jaw.
While the bear took a step back from the impact and possibly suffered from a momentary confusion, three more bears were making their attack.
Vincent swung his arm to his right side. As the first approached the bear’s face, a barely visible trail of green power followed it.
Vincent stopped swinging his arm because he was in a tight spot and being attacked from three sides at the same time.
From behind, a set of sharp teeth approached close and closer to his back. From his left, a bear standing on its two hind legs was swinging one of its arms at Vincent.
Vincent quickly opened his hand. Green power was tossed at the bear on the right side. The power was none other than Mutated Ash.
*Snap* With a snap of his fingers, the gauntlets produced a spark. A small explosion blasted near the back of his hand, inflicting minor burn damage to the right side bear and causing Vincent’s right arm to swing in the opposite direction.
Vincent extended his fingers and formed a hand blade. With his power and the momentum of the small blast, Vincent slashed the left side’s standing bear’s chest.
The deep laceration Vincent inflicted forced the bear to stop attacking. It retreated a couple of steps back to land back on all fours.
In a matter of seconds, Vincent killed one bear and stopped three bears from landing an attack. However, there were five bears and not four.
The last bear Vincent didn’t stop posed an imminent danger. Every inch of the bear’s sharp teeth approached Vincent’s back, the more in danger of receiving a fatal attack he was in.
The audience wondered if Vincent’s display of power was at an end. He was completely defenseless. He could not turn around and act unless he had power beyond everyone’s understanding.
The commentator stopped commenting and opened his eyes wide to capture every second. Vincent was currently capturing everyone’s focus.
So much so that Awa, the woman who threw Vincent onto the bears as one of the many preplanned tactics, was overlooked since, usually, a person would’ve fallen to the ground by now.
On the bear’s head, the one about to bite Vincent, suddenly appeared a dark thread. It appeared just a second away from the teeth reaching Vincent’s clothes and inflicting a deep critical wound.
A moment later, The head was pulled, and the briefly forgotten dark knight slowly descending because of her cape landed in the blink of an eye with an impactful dive kick.
*Crack!* The bear’s head was crushed instantly, and the second familiar was killed in a matter of seconds.
The commentator and the audience watching Vincent being saved made many wonder if the man fighting the bears wearing only a pair of gauntlets had so much faith in his wife that he fought confidently.
historical
The commentator and the audience didn’t know Vincent could see in his thoughts where Awa was at all times.
Kazumi told Vincent details as if she was rapping instructions. With her help, Vincent could improvise at any moment. He could attack while knowing the person who had his back was not going to let him get injured.
Vincent swung his arm, and a lot of Mutated Ash fell on the ground. He grabbed Awa’s hand and said, “Take me away.”
Awa nodded. She held Vincent’s hand firmly before jumping. She looked down after hearing Vincent snapping his fingers. The heat and the green light not only surprised her but the commentator and the audience as well.
“Ladies and gentlemen. What an exhilarating exchange! So many things happened all in the span of ten seconds that not even if I could comment that quickly could anyone comprehend what I am saying.”
“Egidio Faulkner, I agree with you. ” Darwin said. He glanced at the representative of the five families and continued, “Vincent Lionheart did short work out of the specially trained familiars.”
“Marquese Darwin, can I and the audience know if the rumors about Vincent Lionheart becoming a noble because he is being sponsored...”
“No comment about that, Egidio Faulkner.” Darwin interrupted the commentator while not giving an answer to determine if the rumor about royalty sponsoring Vincent was true or not.
“Hah! How could it be true? He is a commoner with a fake past of being a fallen noble. He married into nobility, so how could he also be sponsored by royalty?”
“Ahem. I believe we should change the subject.” The commentator looked at the center of the field and continued, “The cape Awa Lionheart abandoned in the air suddenly became a five-meter-long dark cloud. What is more astonishing is the fact Awa and Vincent Lionheart entered the dark could, and they have yet to reappear.”
As the commentator mentioned, Vincent and Awa flew into the dark cloud controlled by Night. They remained inside without appearing nor the dark cloud descending. The dark cloud remained hovered in the air as if the weight of two people didn’t affect it.
What happened under the dark cloud was another fascinating occurrence. After an explosion in the middle of the five bears blasted, the three living bears and two dead bears became hidden from an abnormal amount of dust.
The dust with a sheen of green moved strangely. Instead of dissipating, the cloud of dust shrank as if it was being absorbed.
*Pho! Pho!* Plow barked angrily.
“Plow. What is wrong?” Asked Lilith.
“Plow smells bad bears again! Plow hates bad bears!” *Pho!* Plow said, yet no one could clearly understand her. Only Awa’s parents had a gist of what Plow tried to mean.
“Ladies and gentlemen. The cloud of dust has disappeared. However, I can only see three bears now. Not only that, but they are much larger than before.”
Darwin focused his gaze on the bears. A deep frown appeared on his face. His glaring eyes looked at the representative of the five noble families.
“What are those things?” Darwin asked with the sound extending gemstone allowing everyone to hear him ask this question.
*Tsk!* “Hah! How many times do I need to explain they received special training.”
“The audience and I are interested in knowing how the three familiars became bigger and two disappeared. Their appearance also changed drastically as well.” The commentator questioned.
