186 Ch. 186 Andrew-Harmonie Tale (part 1)
About twelve years ago―when the Heinests invited the Calvins to stay at their castle for the first time, Andrew had a night that caused the most significant change in his life.
Before this, the two families had met several times at family gatherings, and their children maintained excellent relationships like close cousins. Andrew, who was only two years under the twins Calvin junior, immediately became close to the Calvin brothers. Andrew treasured Harmonie as he did his little sister at that time. There were no romantic feelings or desire to have an affair with the girl.
Harmonie did not feel romantic feelings for Andrew and considered the young man her cousin, like when she met Kendrich and other cousins ??in the states.
On their first days staying at Heinest castle, everything went smoothly. But something happened on the last night the Calvin family stayed over.
That night Harmonie couldn’t sleep and wanted to take a walk to get some fresh air. At that time, she was still one of the natural rulers who could control the weather with her powers―she was the Gale Master, the ruler representing autumn.
historical
Harmonie had the memory of the previous Gale Master hundreds of years ago, so she had far more insight and knowledge than a teenager her age. She could freely control the wind around her and lighten her own body to float up.
Harmonie unintentionally chose the east wing’s balcony on the second floor. Her feet, which had previously rested on flat ground, floated up and lifted to land on the golden ledge of the balcony. Harmonie was not afraid that she would fall, even though only a small part of her foot stepped on the edge of the balcony, which did not exceed half of her footing.
After all, even if she fell, she could use the surrounding wind to make her fly back up.
Harmonie extended her hands to the two opposite sides while smiling broadly when she felt the night wind dancing around her body. Leaves also flew around her, and her reddish-brown hair fluttered with the wind.
.....
Little did she know that the occupants next door walked to the window and saw her standing on the high ledge of the balcony. Thinking that Harmonie tried to suicide, the person headed to the patio next to his room.
Harmonie sensed a human presence behind her and immediately panicked. She was worried that someone might have seen her fly from the ground to this second floor and looked back to see who had come.
Right when she turned around, her hand had been pulled down, causing her body to sway and fall, causing Harmonie to close her eyes.
Moni could summon the wind if no humans were around to prevent her from falling to the ground. But now that there was a human with her, she couldn’t use her powers carelessly and expose her identity―she had no choice other than let herself fall and prepare herself to accept the pain.
However, oddly enough, she didn’t feel any pain.
Harmonie opened her eyes and widened in shock when she saw her cousin’s handsome face groaning in pain from being crushed by Harmonie’s body.
“Brother Andrew? Whoa, I’m sorry.” Harmonie immediately got up and turned her body to the side, and sat beside Andrew lying down. “Are you okay?”
Andrew groaned in pain while rubbing the back of his head because his head had hit the floor quite hard when he supported Harmonie’s body, which suddenly slumped towards him.
“Ugh! Harmonie, what are you doing climbing over the balcony ledge? Do you want to kill yourself? Think how your parents would feel if you left them. Don’t you care about your brothers anymore?”
Harmonie blinked several times in the middle of her cousin’s lecture. Then she laughed out loud when she realized that this young man thought she was going to kill herself.
“Is this funny? Are you serious now?” complained Andrew, still rubbing his head.
“Ah, Brother Andrew. I don’t intend to kill myself at all. The night wind here is better than in Delft. So I went out to enjoy the evening breeze.”
The way she answered and her cheerful voice, as if there was no burden, made Andrew dazed.
Seeing the carefree joy in the girl’s eyes and tone of voice, Andrew could believe that Harmonie didn’t mean to kill herself. But what fascinated him was not the endless joy of the girl. But her eyes were gold star-like, as if her eyes were the twinkling stars in the sky.
Andrew recalled Harmonie’s eyes were brown―but why now did it differently?
Harmonie’s unique eye color and charming smile stunned Andrew, and his eyes seemed to see thousands of shades of fireworks erupting in the sky.
Is Harmonie always this breathtaking? How come he never realized it before?
“Brother Andrew? Andreeeeww.. Hello? Are you there?” Harmonie was confused because her cousin suddenly became a statue looking at her. The young man didn’t even respond, no matter how much she tried to call out to the young man. Harmonie had to secretly use her powers to summon the wind and blow it at Andrew quite hard.
It was when Andrew felt his body felt like someone pushed him did he woke up from his reverie. He glanced around, wondering why the wind around this place became fierce tonight.
“Looks like tonight the wind is not friendly. How about we go inside?” Andrew’s suggestion earned nodded in agreement from the girl.
The two of them went inside, and Andrew occasionally glanced at the girl walking beside him. His brow furrowed when he saw Harmonie’s eyes turning brown again.
Was what he just saw just his imagination?
But.. even though Harmonie’s eyes were back to how they used to be, the charm of this girl’s beauty had not diminished in his eyes.
He couldn’t possibly be in love with his cousin, could he? Although the two were not related by blood, still, they were part of the family.
Andrew met Harmonie for the first time when Harmonie was six. He had seen the girl since they were kids and viewed her as his sister―just like Quinn.
But why can’t he look at her like he used to?
