Chapter 70
70 Ch. 70 Whiny Girl-like Richard
Anxia pushed Richard’s hand away from her face with a sarcastic snort.
“Relying on you? I’ve never relied on others to handle my problems, let alone entrust my life to that person. I will only rely on myself.” Anxia began to speak calmly and stopped crying.
She didn’t understand how she could have a breakdown like this to cry like a weak crybaby girl. She wasn’t a helpless girl, and she wasn’t a young lady who knew nothing about how cruel the outside world was.
Anxia wiped the remaining tears off her cheeks with the back of her hand and then looked up at Richard with renewed confidence.
She didn’t know why, but she felt that Richard had done something about Ling Meng’s situation and Anxia wanted to confirm her doubts.
“Tell me, what does relying on you have to do with Ling Meng’s safety? If you wanted to save her, you should have done it before the appointment that person had set. Even if you plan to save her, you won’t be able to do it. Master Yu’s security defense is not easily infiltrated by just anyone.”
“I didn’t plan on saving her.” Richard’s short answer was able to revive Anxia’s anger.
Can’t this man see that Anxia is willing to listen carefully to his’s explanation? Why did Richard have to make her angry and hate him even more?
This man’s attitude was also bizarre. Moments before, Richard wiped away her tears gently, but now he was indifferent again. Anxia was completely driven mad by the man’s mood swings that came and went like a hurricane.
.....
“You don’t want to tell me the truth?” Anxia tried her best to demand an explanation from the man because it seemed that Richard was not in the least bit interested in satisfying her curiosity.
“You want to know? Don’t you want to leave here? Just go. I won’t stop you.”
“...” Anxia bit her lip in frustration, hearing her husband’s cold, indifferent voice.
“Ah, my back hurts all over. It looks like my hand hurt. Haaaa... my hands are bleeding!” Richard shouted when he saw that his elbows were emitting red liquid due to Anxia’s attack using nails or sharp stones around them. “How strange, my head suddenly dizzy,” Richard complained once while holding his head, making Anxia speechless.
Why was this man suddenly being fussy and groaning like a girl?
Anxia was even more confused when she saw Richard standing up while groaning so exaggeratedly that Anxia rolled her eyes lazily.
This shameless man was not as whiny as this just a moment ago. Why the sudden change?
“Ouch, something pricked my eyes. If only someone had helped me return to the castle, treated my wounds, and accompanied me during my mental recovery, I would answer her questions honestly.”
Anxia clicked her tongue in annoyance, realizing the hidden meaning of the man’s words, but she still stood up and helped her husband by wrapping his hand past the back of her shoulder.
Anxia wrapped one arm around Richard’s waist while her other hand held his chest to hold back the man’s body which would fall at any moment.
Anxia didn’t notice the big smile on Richard’s face at all and let the man rest his head on top of her own.
Anxia followed all the directions to Richard’s room on the third floor. It was the first time she would enter Richard’s room, and for some reason, Anxia became nervous about it.
In the end, Anxia decided to escape and was about to leave to return to her own room as soon as they arrived in front of Richard’s bedroom door.
But this whiny girl-like man returned to complaining with hidden threats in each of his complaints.
“Ah, my head is spinning. I can’t treat my wound alone if my head is dizzy. If my wound isn’t treated, I’m afraid I’ll get amnesia and forget the answer you want to know.”
Anxia stared dagger at Richard while the man only blinked his eyes innocently as if he were saying, ‘What did I do wrong?’
So this is her fault?!
Well, all of Richard’s injuries were her fault, anyway... but...
You are a grown man! Can’t you act your age!?
Anxia felt like she wanted to scream into his ear, but she decided to keep it to herself.
Anxia took a deep breath and exhaled quickly before finally supporting her husband’s body again and entering the man’s room.
Richard’s room was twice as large as the room she occupied. This room has not only a dressing room but also a relaxing space for reading by the fire in the fireplace.
The design of this place truly reflects the classic Victorian style. Anxia was amazed and fascinated by the kind of interior in this room. Some exotic paintings were so beautiful that they stunned her.
Anxia’s reverie was awakened when she heard a chuckle beside her.
“Xia Xia, if you like this room, you can move here whenever you want.”
“Not interested,” she answered curtly, looking away, not wanting Richard to notice her blush.
With great patience and thoroughness, Anxia cleaned the wound on Richard’s hand and rubbed it with antiseptic medicine. After that, she also helped the man lie down on the bed as if Richard got severely injured.

“Aaaa!” Anxia shrieked when Richard pulled her hand, causing her to fall and land next to Richard.
“Aren’t you going to ask me? Now is the right time.” Richard stated without giving Anxia a chance to protest and stood up.
Anxia raised her head to look straight at her husband and saw the seriousness in those brown eyes.
“You don’t plan to save Meng Meng?”
“Why would I plan it if I already saved her.”
Anxia’s mouth opened in disbelief at that answer.
Richard had already saved Ling Meng? When?
“But, how? When? Why didn’t you tell me? Where is she now? What are we doing here if Ling Meng is still alive?”
“Aw... Why do I see stars in my head?” Richard pretended to be in pain as he stroked his head with one hand.
Anxia stood up only to gently massage both sides of Richard’s forehead.
Richard pursed his mouth to suppress a smile of pleasure at receiving his wife’s attention.
“Does it still hurt?”
“It’s getting much better.”
“So when did you save her?”
“Before we left here.”
“What?” That means Ling Meng was already free from master Yu’s torment a few days ago? “Why didn’t you tell me when you gave me Master Yu’s threatening note?” without realizing it, Anxia’s massage stopped because she wanted to scold this shameless man who had been stressing her out for the past few days.
“Ah, my head is spinning again.” Richard clapped his wife’s hand as if asking her to continue massaging his head while closing his eyes comfortably.
Anxia glared at her husband furiously. If only stare could kill someone, Richard would have died right now.
