Chapter 696: Hospital disaster - Part 3
The ward boy was too stunned to speak and he stared blankly. Only then did Ian realize what he had done and how he had lost his composure momentarily. He stepped back immediately and calmed himself down.

"I apologize for my behavior; I lost my self-control. Now, tell me in detail." Even though he had composed himself, he did not let go of his intimidating aura and the ward boy had difficulty finding words.
"I think it's time you start speaking, Sir." Joshua prompted from behind while the others looked on, which got the ward boy speaking.
"We do not know what happened, Doctor Davis, and who murdered him..."
"Did you just say murder?" Ian stepped forward in sudden fury, forcing the ward boy to step back.
"Was Charles Miller murdered?" Ivy asked, her expression turning incredulous at the unexpected predicament. "How did this happen?"
Ian did not wait for the ward boy anymore and sprinted toward the ward he had in mind, with Ivy and Joshua close on their heels. Although Samuel and Hailey were perplexed by the situation, they did not interrupt and allowed the three people to do their job as they entered the old Carter's ward again.
"What the heck is happening here?" Ivy mumbled as she kept her pace to match with Joshua.
"I have no idea. This is so fucked up. How the heck did that bastard die when people were watching him all the time? Moreover, he was in a coma. Who would kill him and why?" Joshua frowned as he followed Ian.
"Do you think it's Jared?" Ivy whispered, being careful as they entered the area filled with a crowd.
"Maybe. Let's see what's happening. This is a disaster." Joshua did not have to do anything for the people who made way for him on their own accord. He moved closer to Ivy and tilted his body, facing more towards Ivy as he protected her from the agitated crowd.
Along the way, the couple kept hearing mumbles, murmurs, and some complaints. But they did not stop until they reached the ward. They did not enter it but waited outside like everyone else for Ian to come out. And at the same time, Joshua did not forget to inform Noah about the situation; he had to know about it as things had turned difficult all of a sudden, especially for Ian, who had to deal with the second murder in his hospital.
Minutes passed, and somehow, the crowd increased, and it soon turned chaotic. With all the pushing and pulling, the people started to record the scene, and the guards Noah had appointed to keep an eye on Charles could not control the excited crowd.
"This is bad," Ivy commented, looking at the crowd and the mobile phones. "This is seriously bad. Ian will be in some serious trouble soon."
"I am thinking the same. I hope..." Before Joshua could voice his thoughts, the ward door opened and Ian appeared.
"What's the situation?" Joshua kept his voice low and leaned closer to Ian.
"It's complicated. Let's speak in my office." Ian did not give a damn about the crowd and their questions. With the help of the guards, the trio made their way towards Ian's office and it was only when the door was locked that Ian kicked the chair hard, sending it swiveling until it crashed with the wall before rebounding.
Ivy had never seen Ian lose his calm and to see him show his fury this openly in front of her, she was appalled. But she also understood his predicament and did not comment, allowing him to release his anger.
"Who the fuck murdered Charles Miller?" Ian seethed and pulled his hair, his face red and menacing. The vein on his neck popped out, indicating his lividness.
"What happened? How did he die?"
"Asphyxiation. He was deprived of oxygen and there are signs of being attacked." Ian replied as he huffed lightly.
"Ohh, that's..."
"Unacceptable." Ian finished and plopped hard on the chair behind his desk, eliciting a slight creak due to the sudden impact. "I need to find out who killed him. Once I catch the man, I will not spare him. Bastard."
Joshua and Ivy did not stop Ian and stood behind him as he opened the CCTV recordings. "Whoever you are, I will find and skin you alive."
With that, he started to scroll through the recordings, searching for the one inside Charles' ward.
"What the fuck!!" Ian's frown deepened and he started tapping his right foot impatiently. "Where did all the videos go?"
"What do you mean?" Joshua queried from behind and stared at the laptop screen. "What's wrong?"
"All the CCTV footage in and around Charles' ward is missing."
"Let me try." Joshua offered and Ian gave up his seat, allowing Joshua to show his abilities. At times like these, he was glad he had a friend like Joshua who had mastered computers.
A string of codes ran on the screen, which neither Ivy nor Ian understood. So they just stared at the man doing his work in admiration as they held their breaths lest they disturb him. And that was the last thing they wanted.
It took a few moments before the screen cleared and some of the missing files appeared individually.
"Here, all done." Joshua tapped the desk and stood up, allowing Ian to find out what he wanted.
It did not take long for Ian to find the part he wanted and soon, the three people noticed the man in all black, with his face covered with a mask and hiding his forehead with a cap, entering the ward.
"Don't you think he looks familiar?" Joshua mused, and Ian paused the video to take a good look at the man who he too found familiar. But he could not put a name or see a familiar face.
"How could he trick the guards and enter the ward without them noticing? Are we missing something here?"
"Doesn't his walking style resembles..." Ian stopped speaking as soon as he realized whose name he was about to take and Joshua looked at him questioningly.
"Resembles whose?"
"This cannot be. It can't. I must be..."
"Ian, what are you saying? Who are you referring to?"
"Theo, Jo. I am talking about Theo." Ian yelled and Joshua froze in his place. "Don't you think he resembles Theo a lot?"
