Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 818 T.D.O.N.B: Fin, The First, Part II

I guess Tihana saw my face as I was looking at my robot cooling himself down after the fight, and she knew what was going on inside my head just with that.

- It's not like he needs to kill the boss. We do it only for the class points anyway. The crystal is nice too, but it is definitely not worth it - she said.

- Yeah. Bosses are too tough - Dasha agreed with her.

- I want them to kill everything in each hunting ground. As a matter of fact, I want them to do it easily, and much, much more - I replied, not moving my eyes off Fin.

- Why? - Lucas asked.

I didn't answer him. Tihana already knew why, and she immediately understood what I mean by what I said. She knew what was coming.

I didn't look behind, but I was sure that the silent speculations were turned on. People probably exchanged looks, and some maybe even whispered some questions among themselves, but In the end, I didn't care.

Fin stopped the cooling process, then without any fear or hesitation, went through to the boss room. I followed in his footsteps, with the rest coming just after me.

I already knew what was there, but for those who saw the place for the first time, I guess it was quite a view. Especially the waterfall of lava, pouring down from above into a pool below, and largely contributing to illuminating the place. The pool too, as it was quite large.

It was very hot inside too, and the air smelled of sulfur, which I had no problem with because I got used to it over the days, but other people started coughing like mad. A few immediately stepped out, the rest was fine with covering their noses and mouths.

Among them, only John and Leonel didn't seem bothered at all.

Meanwhile, Fin was already scanning the space to find the boss. He found him in no time, hiding in the lava, so he decided to approach.

The pool reacted. At first, only a single bubble reached the surface, but it was soon joined by more in a few different places in the same spot. The whole mirror or the lava, if you could even use those words to describe it, began rising, starting from the very middle. With some of the burning liquid removed by gravity, a humanoidal shape appeared. You know how it looked since I already described it, so I'm not gonna do it again.

Those who remained in the chamber were quite amazed by the view. Fin didn't care. He switched the hand he was holding my weapon with, and then began shooting the ice. It smashed into the monster's body, hissing like mad, as a lot of steam was coming of it before it even hit the mark, and then splashed some of the lava around, but not much.

It looked like the attack was barely working if at all, but Fin didn't stop. He kept shooting one projectile after the other, like from a slow-motion machine gun.

Bos just didn't stand there, taking it all, he attacked with his long arms, trying to smash my golem, but Fin easily avoided it by flying to the side.

- Holy shit! - Lucas shouted again.

At that point, we all looked at him.

- You should really think of another line - I proposed.

He chuckled shortly, visibly embarrassed. After this brief interruption, my eyes focused on the fight once again. Fin was already in the air, and the boss tried his best to grab him, but the automaton was more nimble than I expected him to be.

He avoided each attack quite easily and kept shooting.

In previous fights, he relied only on the gifted weapon, and the water gun to fight, so the crystal holding the energy was still full, which meant he could continue for a long time.

Again, it was a very time-consuming approach but looked quite safe.

At least until the boss didn't puke fire at my golem. It was so hot, that I actually had to put a barrier in front of us to block it before anybody got hurt. People averted their eyes, but I kept looking despite the pain caused by too much light.

I needed to see Fin's reaction. This time, he also raised his barrier, blocking the flames with the effect caused by the mechanics in his left arm. It forced him to stop attacking, but that was pretty much it.

I was quite shortsighted with my assumption, as I soon learned. If I was the one fighting, I probably would see through it, but since I was just observing, and didn't really have any proper experience with fighting this particular boss because of the way I used to deal with it, I failed to do it.

The attack was just a trick, to create an opening, so he could strike with his massive molten fist, which he brought down at my automaton.

Fin got smashed from the air, and brought back down to the ground, where he landed heavily, protecting himself with the same barrier he used to block flames. It endured the impact, so there didn't seem to be any damage, but he got practically pinned down.

He once again brought the ice gun, although this time shot a pale blue ray straight at the hand. Collision with lava raised a cloud of hissing steam, but then I also heard a crack and a splash.

I had to use a gust of wind to clear it so I would be able to see something, and then I noticed a big piece of obsidian, smashed on the ground, with quite a big puddle of lava next to it.

Fin was gone, as he flew to the side, attacking more with the ray, and forcing the boss to retreat into the pool with each attack. The monster was missing a hand.

- I would yell holly shit, but you will start at me again - said Lucas - so I'm just gonna say that he is doing great.historical

His words made me smile a little, as I observed Fin blasting the boss with more ice rays until it retreated completely into life.

Then, to my absolute surprise, my golem dived in.

- No! - Leonel shouted.

He tried to rush there, but Carmelita stopped him. It was a good move because the golem soon emerged flying, with the lava pouring down from him, and holding a crystal in his hand.

- Holy shit - I said with a smirk on my face.

This earned me a few short laughs. Especially from Lucas.
