Chapter 143 Questions

"Don’t worry, I won’t leave." Luo Xiaolei muttered. She didn’t know why she was saying this. She still didn’t know about what he was hiding so why was she so certain that she wouldn’t leave him?

When she looked at Yu Chen’s eyes, she saw nothing but surprise and the next second, his eyes became tender and content, as if he was certain that she would keep her words. And then, just like that, the adorable panda was back again.

"My turn?" he asked, seemingly eager.

"Eh? My question is still unanswered. I should ask another one." She protested but the instant she looked at that irresistible look in his eyes, Luo Xiaolei was quick to give in. "Okay, okay... your turn."

"What’s your favorite color?" he asked in a very serious tone and Luo Xiaolei felt her chin drop. She was stunned. ’Er... what?’

This was just damn too unexpected. She even prepared her heart as though she was about to be attacked by a certain beast and yet his question was actually about her favorite color?!

Luo Xiaolei knew she should be glad but somehow this made her feel a little guilty for asking a question that pushed him to the extreme at the very first try.

"I like white." Luo Xiaolei replied.

"I see," he sounded like he was contemplating about something. "Okay, your turn."

"Uhm... er... how about you? What’s your favorite color?" she didn’t know why she ended up asking the same thing when there were countless mystifying, intriguing and thrilling questions in her head.

"White." He replied and she blinked.

’Hey, are you sure? I am pretty sure it’s black.’ She wanted to protest but he was so serious that she thought there was just no way he was lying. Then, his second question came.

"What is your favorite thing?" he asked and Luo Xiaolei pressed her lips into a hard line. She was speechless for a moment. But his question somehow made her relax and she smiled.

"Hmm... your panda outfit?" she replied and she chuckled. "I don’t know but it’s the first thing that came to my mind. No one asked me this before so I don’t know what my favorite thing was before I saw your panda outfit. How about you? What’s your favorite thing?"

Yu Chen: "My panda outfit."

Luo Xioalei: ". . ."

Speechless once again, Luo Xiaolei found herself gaping at him. And then, the man already started asking.

"What’s your favorite flower?" he asked and without even thinking, Luo Xiaolei abruptly replied.

"Sunflower." She sounded like something had just pulled her from her other train of thought.

"Can I ask why it’s your favorite?"

"Hmm... well, I like the fact that sunflowers symbolize adoration and loyalty, but I think the reason why I like sunflowers is because they are ’happy’ flowers." She smiled as she explained while Yu Chen was listening so intently as if the words Luo Xiaolei was spouting were some sort of sacred scriptures. "How about you? Wait... I should ask first if you even have any interest in flowers."

"I am interested in them now."

"Oh... so you have a favorite now?"

"Mm. Sunflowers."

Luo Xiaolei: ". . ."

While Luo Xiaolei fell into another trance, Yu Chen was about to ask again when Luo Xiaolei stopped him. Her finger suddenly landed on the man’s lips, causing him to look at her in surprise.

"Yu Chen... are you taking this seriously?" Luo Xiaolei’s eyes were narrowed.

"I’m very serious." The man mumbled against her finger and Luo Xiaolei finally realized that her finger was on his soft tempting lips. She blushed and pulled her finger away.

"B-but you’re just echoing my answers." She said and suddenly, Yu Chen lifted his hand and touched her cheek.

"I never had any favorites before. I never even thought about it. But I have my favorites now and they’re my personal choice."

". . ."

Luo Xiaolei wanted to protest but she was utterly distracted, because he was still touching her cheek. It took her a moment of scattered concentration to begin.

"W-who would believe that? You chose white and sunflower obviously because they’re the things I mentioned!" As those words leaving her mouth, Yu Chen’s face suddenly became grave.

"Maybe you’re right but from now on, those three things are now my favorites, officially."

He declared and Luo Xiaolei felt her chin drop, her mouth open in astonishment. She was at a loss for words. She felt defeated by him and she couldn’t argue with him anymore. ’Oh god, this panda is at it again!’

"O-okay... So? Do you have any more questions?" She asked, interrupting the short silence.

"I still have a million or two."

"Me too. But you have to rest now. You worked nonstop the whole day, remember?" she said. Of course, she still couldn’t get enough of this. She still wanted to ask more and more questions but she already noticed the tiredness in his eyes since a while ago. The medicine he took after their dinner should’ve made him fall asleep by now but he was fighting the dizziness very well.

"One more." He answered and Luo Xiaolei sighed.

"Okay, just one. You have to rest."

"Before Yang Jin entered, you said you have something to discuss with me. What was it?"

As soon as Yu Chen’s voice died down, Luo Xiaolei’s expression changed. She was suddenly serious.

"Oh, that?" she averted her gaze away from him. She bit her lip and she looked like she was thinking deeply.

When she looked at him again, she smiled. "About that... let’s discuss it next time. That’s quite a long talk so let’s better talk about it tomorrow."

Luo Xiaolei wasn’t saying this to get back at him for making her wait. The thing that she wanted to discuss with him would sure spark a long conversation so she had to postpone it. She couldn’t let this man stay awake like this when his body was already screaming for rest.

"We have tomorrow, and the next day, and the next... okay?" She reminded and Yu Chen sighed, finally giving in.

"I understand."

"Now close your eyes and sleep."

"Am I still not allowed to kiss you?"

"Er... uhm... hey, I said no more questions."

"I’m sorry, I think I need something so I can fall asleep."

". . ."

Biting her lips, Luo Xiaolei wanted to pinch and squeeze his cheeks hard. It was because he was staring at her so intently again, as if what he just said was something extremely serious. The way he gazed at her was also heartbreakingly persuasive and all she could do was surrender and grant him his wish. ’Damn it, Yu Chen, what did you do to me?’

Abruptly, Luo Xiaolei sat up. And then, without a word, she bent closer to him and kissed him.
