Vol.3-Chapter 4 – Love is Difficult to Understand
The morning of the next day.
The Mysterious Heaven Temple towered over the sea of clouds.
A figure covered in golden light flew through the sea of clouds from a distance and instantly arrived at the entrance of the Mysterious Heaven Temple.
There were already two figures standing behind the red fence around the Mysterious Heaven Temple. One was Jian Wuxian, who was wearing a purple robe and exuded an ethereal temperament. The other was Xu Jiahui, who was wearing a black robe and had a cynical smile on his face.
The two Dao Origin Realm cultivators were going to the Hundred Flower Valley with Zhao Jiuge to propose the marriage. This was giving him a lot of face. Jian Wuxian was the Head Teacher of the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect, making his position very high among the holy lands. After all, there were far too few Mahayana Realm cultivators, and everything they did would cause great ripples, so they don’t easily appear before people.
When Elder Dawn Wind said he would personally go with Zhao Jiuge, it wasn’t serious. After all, there were many things he had to do in the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect. Aside from dealing with personal affairs and the matters of the sect, they still had to strive to ascend.
The golden light dissipated, revealing a figure. It was Zhao Jiuge. It had been nearly six years, and Zhao Jiuge had gone from a teenager to a young man.
The naivety had gradually faded from his determined face and his features were more defined. His whole temperament had changed greatly from before. He was wearing black clothes with the Cold Underworld Sword on his back.
“Teacher, Elder.” historical
Seeing the two people outside the Mysterious Heaven Temple, he respectfully greeted them. He originally thought only his teacher was going with him; he didn’t expect Elder Xu Jiahui to go as well.
“Are you ready? Did you bring everything you need?”
Jian Wuxian saw that Zhao Jiuge’s eyes contained joy but were still calm, so he silently nodded. No matter what, a person must not reveal their emotions—being calm was crucial. Zhao Jiuge had been his disciple for two years, and during this time, he was subtly changing under Jian Wuxian’s guidance.
Zhao Jiuge somewhat excitedly said, “I’m ready and I can begin my training directly after the Hundred Flower Valley.”
What Jian Wuxian didn’t know was that Zhao Jiuge was more happy about the fact that he was going to be able to explore the mysterious world. As for the matter of marriage, he was happy, but he inexplicably felt like something was wrong. This should have made him very excited, but there seemed to be some unspeakable difficulties in his heart.
“Good. Then let us head out.”
He waved his purple sleeve and released spirit light from his body. The spirit light condensed into a flying sword below Jian Wuxian’s feet.
Xu Jiahui did the same thing, but Zhao Jiuge lacked the cultivation to do the same, so he could only use his life flying sword. The three of them flew through the sky toward the edge of the Mysterious Heaven Sword Mountain.
The Hundred Flower Valley was located in the Yan Province, not far from the Xuan Province. The Yan Province was also where Zhao Jiuge grew up, which was why he was able to encounter Ling Bo Re at the cold pool. It was also where the city of Dong Yang and the mountain where he met Little Black were located.
Thinking of Little Black, Zhao Jiuge decided to bring Little Black with him. It had been six years, and he had no idea what had happened to the lively Little Black. Perhaps he had died or had already left the valley.
There was also the Mo family in the city of Dong Yang, as well as the Xiao family, who hunted him like a dog. There was also the Flowing Cloud Sect, who was like a behemoth at the time. If it wasn’t for the fact that the eldest son of the Xiao family was a disciple of the Flowing Cloud Sect and could rely on their power, he wouldn’t have been put into such a terrible situation.
Now that he was strong enough, it was time to settle all those grievances.
The him of six years ago was completely different from him now. Zhao Jiuge decided that no matter what happened during this marriage proposal, he would first head to the city of Dong Yang. The people there would be shocked to see him again.
Don’t bully the youth because he is poor! Today, he was not the same as he was in the past!
However, it was during his escape that he encountered Su Su at the unmarked graveyard. Thinking about the spirited Su Su, Zhao Jiuge’s mood suddenly shifted. He finally understood why even though his teacher was taking him to propose the marriage, he couldn’t bring himself to be happy. It was because he felt a strong sense of guilt in his heart. Now he remembered that there was an agreement between them.
Zhao Jiuge suddenly became absent-minded and his good mood disappeared. He thought about the past that seemed to have disappeared like smoke.
Meeting Su Su in the nameless graveyard, killing the evil cultivator, and being pursued by the evil cultivator’s senior. Then Su Su was injured during the battle and he fed her medicine from his mouth. Everything flashed through his mind.
Zhao Jiuge’s heart suddenly became a mess, and he questioned if he was certain of who that person in his heart was. The faces of the figures in his heart changed rapidly and his previous excitement was replaced by hesitation.
He knew that he had forgotten and missed the agreement, so he still had to make a trip to Green Jade Mountain. He would have to resolve this during his training.
After leaving the sect, the three of them stood outside the sect. Jian Wuxian’s words suddenly echoed and awakened Zhao Jiuge from his thoughts.
“Jiuge, because time is of the essence, we won’t be enjoying the scenery. That’s why it will only take us two days to reach the Hundred Flower Valley in the Yan Province.”
Zhao Jiuge was shocked. Now that something else had come up, he decided not to think about it anymore. He would go on his training trip soon, and the problems would be resolved. What’s more, he was on his way to the Hundred Flower Valley.
“Teacher, is two days enough? Even with a flying boat, it won’t be possible.” Zhao Jiuge’s tone revealed his shock.
Jian Wuxian revealed a mysterious smile and gently shook his head. He slowly said, “Just wait and see.”
Elder Xu Jiahui just watched the teacher and disciple pair talk. He didn’t interject but had a playful smile on his face.
After speaking, Jian Wuxian waved his hand and the flying sword under Zhao Jiuge’s feet flew back into the sheath on his back. Then his hand reached out and grabbed Zhao Jiuge.
Zhao Jiuge just felt his vision blur and he was firmly grasped by his teacher. Then he heard Jian Wuxian’s voice echo in his ears.
“Watch carefully. Between the Spirit Core Realm and Dao Origin Realm, there are three levels of traveling. Flying on a flying sword is the lowest level.”
Then Zhao Jiuge’s face was filled with horror. Jian Wuxing left the flying sword made of his spirit force and then quickly sped off. The speed was simply terrifying. Zhao Jiuge felt his heart stop for a moment.
Zhao Jiuge’s look of horror hadn’t even disappeared when his expression froze.
The surrounding scenery began to shrink. Although the speed was not as fast as before, he saw from the corner of his eyes that the surrounding scenery was visibly shrinking.
The mountains, trees, and lakes were only the size of his palm. This caused Zhao Jiuge’s mouth to open wide in shock. He didn’t know what had happened!
He wasn’t even able to ask the question, because he couldn’t calm himself down. What Zhao Jiuge saw next almost made his heart jump out of his chest!
The scenery disappeared completely, with only the blue sky and white clouds remaining. The surrounding clouds quickly disappeared from the corner of his eyes.
The three quick changes in succession set off wave after wave inside Zhao Jiuge’s heart. He felt like his heart was going to erupt from his body. Fortunately, this feeling only lasted for a moment.
When everything calmed down, including his own emotions, Zhao Jiuge looked at the strange surroundings. Everything felt like a dream. Then he looked at his teacher, who was still holding onto the back of his shirt. Elder Xu Jiahui seemed to be enjoying Zhao Jiuge’s misery.
Zhao Jiuge, in a state of shock, asked, “Teacher, where are we? Weren’t we just at the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect?”
“We have almost reached the edge of the Xuan Province.” A rare smile appeared on Jian Wuxian’s face.
Zhao Jiuge’s eyes immediately widened.
Almost to the edge of the Xuan Province? Only a short period of time had passed—how had they moved so fast?
Jian Wuxian seemed to see the doubt in Zhao Jiuge’s eyes and patiently explained.
“Didn’t I just tell you before? As your cultivation increases, the speed at which you can travel is divided into three levels. The first level is blade soaring. Cultivators like you have to rely on a physical sword to fly, while people with higher cultivation can blade soar with a sword condensed from their spirit force. The second level is?Spatial Bending, in which the surrounding scenery changes and your speed increases greatly. Daoists are the best at this, but it's impossible without a certain level of strength. The last?level is something only we at the Dao Origin Realm can do: Void Soul Travel. We use our origin souls to travel through the world, and the more powerful one’s origin soul is, the more apparent its power. Once you reach the Soul Formation Realm, you can begin nourishing your origin soul.”
After Jian Wuxian explained all this, he proudly glanced at Zhao Jiuge’s reaction. Even Jian Wuxian liked to show off before his disciples and see his disciples’ worshiping gazes.
However, what Zhao Jiuge said next caused Xu Jiahui to almost burst out laughing. He tried his best to endure and hold his mouth. His face turned bright red and it looked like he was going to suffer internal injuries from holding back the laughter.
“Teacher, then what kind of change will happen once you break through the Dao Origin Realm to the Mahayana Realm?” Zhao Jiuge’s eyes were filled with confusion.
Jian Wuxian was startled. His lips trembled and he wasn’t able to speak. Xu Jiahui’s attempt to hold in his laughter caused Jian Wuxian’s face to turn red. He became angry due to embarrassment and let out a roar.
“How should I know? You know your teacher is not omnipotent. I haven’t reached the Mahayana Realm, so how would I know? Once I break through, I’ll tell you. I think you have been comfortable for far too long and your skin is a little itchy. Wait until you come back from your training to be taught a lesson.”
Zhao Jiuge subconsciously shrank back and couldn’t help thinking about the body tempering he had gone through. The memory was still fresh in his mind.
Elder Xu Jiahui couldn’t endure it anymore and began to laugh out loud.
In order to take care of Zhao Jiuge, the three of them flew normally instead. Although the speed was fast, it was not something Zhao Jiuge could withstand. What they did earlier was just to let him experience it.
At noon the next day, the three of them were flying through the sky and looking at the mountain wall before them. The mountain wall was wide and steep, and there were many green pines growing around it.
Zhao Jiuge asked in confusion, “Teacher, are you sure this is the Hundred Flower Valley? This is clearly a mountain. Could it be inside the mountain?”
Xu Jiahui looked at Jian Wuxian ambiguously. He had never come here before. However, he knew that Jian Wuxian was familiar with this place and had a past with the Hundred Flower Valley.
Jian Wuxian rolled his eyes and ignored the two of them. Then he calmly said, “Do you not even know about formations?”
After he finished speaking, he turned toward the mountain wall and shouted, “The Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect’s Jian Wuxian has come to visit.”
His voice was surrounded by spirit force. Although it didn’t sound loud, it had great penetrating force and immediately spread in all directions.
