Chapter 21 - 21: Devil Cult
Approaching the healer, Su Yanran expressed her gratitude, insisting, "Thanks, if you ever need anything, please contact me."
"No, it's my duty," the healer demurred, showing a hand gesture.
However, Su Yanran gently grasped her hand, offering her father's card, and said, "For you, it may seem trivial, but it means the important to me."
Wang Feng approached Su Yanran, offering soothing words, "Su Yan, calm down."
"Alright," she responded, and a hush settled over the dungeon area.
A young man sensed something amiss, saying cautiously, "Something is happening," while another young man anxiously voiced his hope that nothing worse would transpire.
Before the leader could speak, the dungeon disintegrated, causing them all to collapse.
A voice called out, "Yaner."
She turned and saw her father, rushing toward him with speed. Embracing his daughter, Su Sen felt a surge of emotions, hearing her tearful plea, blaming herself for everything that had transpired, and begging him to save the unconscious player.
"Alright," Su Sen gently patted her head and instructed the healer, "Save him."
"Yes, sir," they replied, moving swiftly to save the injured.
Witnessing the scene, the leader exclaimed, "She is the Ice Guild leader's daughter," prompting one young man to envy the lucky healer.
Another young man asked, "Wang Feng, how do you know her?"
As Wang Feng engaged in conversation with the parties, the focus shifted back to Su Sen, and everything related to him back at the house.
...
Devil's Cult
In a desolate area near Province Xth, a massive building lay concealed beneath the surface, surrounded by numerous players except one man.
A middle-aged man sat majestically, inquiring calmly, "How is the mission going?"
The man shuddered, answering fearfully, "Master, they all perished."
Upon hearing the news of failure, the middle-aged man shook his head and asked, "Were you the leader of this mission?"
"Yes, master," he replied fearfully.
The middle-aged man gestured, and a screech echoed in the hall, reducing the man to a dry corpse, with his blood and cultivation absorbed into the middle-aged man.
"If you were the leader, then you must bear responsibility for the failure," the middle-aged man murmured, calmly asking, "Who will lead the next mission?"
Although they witnessed this scene, eager candidates still raised their hands excitedly.
Upon seeing this, the leader smiled and said, "Good."

Back in his room
Sam instructed the skeletons to assume human form, reflecting on Diablo's recognition of Wang Feng, preventing their sacrifice for the dungeon upgrade.
Despite the chaos, he affirmed the correctness of his decision to let random players perish, ensuring the dungeon's upgrade and gaining heavenly artifacts with a grin.
Engaging in conversations with each skeleton, I ensured they felt included and valued. "Diablo, from now on, you will take them all to the E rank dungeon to aid their rank upgrade," I said, hoping their ranks would improve.
"Additionally, try to take a rest at every opportunity," I suggested, mindful that though they appeared human, they were still undead skeletons.
"Understood, master," they all replied, transforming into undead skeletons once more as Neo transported them to the E rank dungeons.
"Ha! What an exquisite existence," I laughed, marveling at my intelligence as I observed the skeletons' value, the F-grade state crystals already stocked in the inventory.
This contrasted with my past memories, where protagonists often kept their skeletons confined in summoning spaces for petty retribution.
[Author: I will map the Sam character's behaviors a bit realistic, of course if he loves anyone then he will also protect him/her even at every cost.]
...
I glanced at my wristwatch, and it read 4 p.m.
"Neo, open the inventory," I exclaimed with excitement.
[Ok]
Inventory: [Dungeon: (8800 F-grade stat crystals and 750 E-grade strength stat crystals, 5900 monster carcasses, 29,000 gold coins), E-grade dungeon core]
I was taken aback by the absurd amount of loot, but it was still within an acceptable range since my skeletons had been farming the dungeon since morning.
However, my attention quickly shifted to the dungeon core, which had a description in the inventory column.
[Dungeon Core]
- A material made up of otherworldly substance and containing otherworldly energy.
[Author: Inventory is not only for storing materials; it also has another perk, which is to describe the property in the description.]
"Neo, can you add your suggestion to the inventory description?" I asked, finding the current explanation not very useful.
[Ok, give me a moment.]
A few seconds later... historical
[Completed]
Upon receiving the completion prompt, I opened the description panel of the dungeon core again.
[Dungeon Core]
- A material made up of otherworldly substance and containing otherworldly energy.
[Des: You can use the 'Predatory Absorption Technique' to absorb the otherworldly energy, but it is suggested to absorb one rank lower than yourself, as even in the worst-case scenario, you will only experience a tiny bit of backlash.]
- You can sell the dungeon core (50,000 E.P.)
