Chapter ?108 Goblins In Croatia
historical
"His name is Faceless Darkness. An elder out of the three that you appointed." Myriad Arrows said.
As they were talking, they reached the gates of the city.
"I'll take a look at him when I am done with what I have planned for now." Jake nodded as they walked out of the city gates.
The moment that they did, a small blue indicator on their HP bars vanished. It was the mark that meant that they were in a safe zone. And now, they were no longer in one.
What they saw in front of them though, stole all of their attention. In this ancient kingdom of Croatia, outside the second largest city, was a jungle?
That was all there was. A giant forest that spanned miles around the city. It was why the kingdom was such a terrible option as a starting destination. Who would want to start somewhere were the training grounds were so terrible?
Fighting in a jungle was just impossibly hard. And for newbies who were trying to increase their level, trying to defeat just one or two monsters was hard enough.
One could forget about grinding altogether. It was just impossible.
"We came here to hunt in a jungle? Every jungle terrain is too disadvantageous right?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"We are not here to grind though. We already have good levels between both of us. What we need to do right now is focus on getting better equipment and a solid foundation for the guild. And that is what we will be working on today." Jake said.
"The guild? How are both of us going to be able to do that? You have way too many people in your guild now." Myriad Arrows asked.
"Remember the blueprint that you saw last time? It turns out that this is a good place to get a few of them." Jake acted like this was someplace that he had heard about.
Of course, that was not true. He knew where he was going, and it was a part of his plan a long time ago. He was just waiting for the right time, because not just anyone could finish what lay ahead.
He would need to be a little strong to pull it off.
"Alright. Let us get ready. The moment that you enter the jungle, its the survival of the strongest. You need to be on high alert." Jake alerted.
"And monsters aren't the only ones that you have to be careful about. Sometimes, the players are a bigger problem." Jake said.
"We have PKers here? I should have known. A jungle type terrain is best for sneak attacks from Peers." Myriad Arrows nodded.
"That's right. Since you are ready, lets go in." Jake nodded back as the duo walked into the jungle as carefree as could be.
Jake did have his rusty sword in his hands, a slender sword that would surely look beautiful if he had somehow gotten rid of the rust that surrounded.
But that was something that he just couldn't do. Something about the rusty look of the sword, his armor, and the boots that he could buy that day, it all just felt a little special.
And he just knew that the blacksmith that made all of these three items was the same person, and for a person to be behind two pieces of legendary equipment, as well as a whole legendary class, could only be a game changing NPC.
Someone that he had to ready for. That was why he intended to get as many of these types of equipment as he could, probably only Epic class and above.
Kirukiru
Jake stopped as he could hear a familiar sound from the side. A sound that even Myriad Arrows recognized.
"A goblin. I should have guessed it. Goblins thrive in jungles." Myriad Arrows said as he put one of his arrows on his bow, drawing it and pointing toward the source of the sound.
"Wait. Attacking might not be a good idea at this point." Jake stopped Myriad Arrows by hiding his bow and forcing it down.
"We don't want to agitate the goblin." He said as he looked closely at the goblin that had appeared among the trees around them.
The thicket was, well, thick, Not much could be seen, but the green of the goblin was slightly off, and although it offered a little camouflage, looking closely gave the goblin away.
And this goblin looked different. It didn't bare its teeth the moment it laid its eyes on an opponent, and it looked different.
It was smaller than normal goblins, which were already like dwarves compared to humans.
And this goblin wasn't dressed like a hillbilly. It was dressed much better. It had a coarse rag covering its whole body, and it gave a much better impression than the aggressive goblins that Bright Horizon faced the day before.
"This is a little different from the goblins that we faced that day, Those goblins were adapted for the raid. This one is a forest goblin though, and they are an autonomous species. We will need their help if we want to get to where we want to go." Jake said.
"And were exactly is that?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"The center of the forest. So that we can go hunting. The center of the forest has much better prey, and the loot that we can get is just too good." Jake smiled as he slowly put his sword away, raising his hands.
"We are not here to fight. We come in peace. Can you understand me?" Jake asked the goblin, speaking slowly and as clearly as he could.
The goblin was still, and did not make a sound, nor move. It was like that for a few seconds, before it suddenly shuddered.
Then, it nodded feverently as it took a step back. That was when Myriad Arrows could see that the goblin was also armed, with a bow. It could have attacked them before they could notice, and instead, it made itself visible to its opponents.
This goblin was certainly different from the ones that they faced before.
