Chapter 1106 - Married Mans Talk
"What’s troubling you?" Jiang Yang asked.
With her head lowered, Jiang Yuyan answered, "I just feel weak. I will get better soon."
"You don’t want to tell me?" Jiang Yang concluded as he sighed. "I won’t force you, but I expect you to tell me when you feel right."
Jiang Yuyan nodded.
"I’ll bring breakfast here. Wait for me." Jiang Yang left.
Jiang Yuyan sat quietly. She couldn’t say anything to her brother, or she didn’t know what he will do with Lu Lijun and when everyone knows it, it will only disturb the peace in the family.
She wanted to ignore it as his imm.a.t.u.r.e act, just as other things he did since he returned, but she couldn’t. The important thing was, if it were someone else other than Lu Lijun, she would have killed that person, but she couldn’t even think about harming him.
He was important to her that she would do anything for him. He was her weakness and reason to continue living all these years, and now that reason had taken a different turn.
"Where have things gone wrong suddenly? How can I make it right? If he comes to me calling me his wife, how should I face it and make him believe it’s wrong. What if he tries to do it again....." she thought as the anxiousness surrounded her.
She definitely won’t go by way of harming him, and he didn’t look like he would understand if she tried to talk to him. He was always so stubborn and difficult to change his mind if he set it on something.
"I should just stay away from him for some time so he will understand his wrongdoing on his own," she concluded.
In a while, Jiang Yang brought the breakfast that pulled her out of so many chaotic thoughts going in her mind.
Lu Lijun reached the office, even before office work hours. He sat in his chair silently, with his eyes closed as he thought about what to do next.
There was a knock on the door. Noah and Jake entered the office. Lu Lijun looked at the two in surprise.
"How do you know I’m here?" Lu Lijun asked.
"Well, you are fortunate to have a caring sister," Noah replied.
Lu Lijun understood Lu Lian must have called his friends after he left home.
"We thought you would be broken and sad, but you look fine," Noah commented.
"Had to get up from sleep, just to be here," Jake added.
"Looks like you two are having fun sleeping nicely," Lu Lijun countered with the meaningful sight.
"Our life is not as adventurous as you to have fun," Jake replied.
"Then make it. Who stopped you," said Lu Lijun as he gave him a teasing look.
Seeing, teasing Lu Lijun, Noah spoke. "This guy is definitely so fine. Should we go back?" Noah asked.
"Let it be. I am hungry. Let’s have breakfast first," said Jake.
"I’ll order," Noah went to his office, and Lu Lijun looked at Jake. "See, your wife is obedient when it comes to you."
"What about yours?" Jake asked.
It startled Lu Lijun. "What do you mean?"
"What exactly you understood," Jake replied.
Lu Lijun sighed. "Worse than yours. Already left me," Lu Lijun replied.
Noah returned as he hung up the call. "Who left?"
"His wife," Jake replied.
"What? Where?" Noah asked.
"To her brother’s home," Lu Lijun replied.
There was silence for a while, and Noah spoke, "Lu Lijun, you really turned into a typical married man where we are discussing how the wife left her parent’s home after being angry with the husband."
"Because I am," said Lu Lijun.
"Right," the other two said together.
Lu Lijun glared at them, "But how do you two know? Brother An Tian?"
Noah looked at Jake. "This guy knew it for so many years."
It surprised Lu Lijun. "How did you know? Your brother?"
"Well, yes and no," Jake replied.
"What do you mean?" Lu Lijun asked.
"When you two came to my home for the first time to celebrate my birthday, and you two got to know about my elder brother, I knew things from that day. He didn’t tell me anything directly," Jake informed.
Lu Lijun was ready to hear more as Noah knew it already when Jake told him and An Tian on that night of the engagement.
"After the party, when everyone left, I heard him talking to my mother. She asked him why your family sent you away alone when you were so young. She knew your elder brother and about you too, so she was concerned. Brother explained everything to her, and I happened to hear it all," Jake stopped.
"And this guy never showed he knew it. But now I know why he never asked you about the woman in those portraits and why stopped me from searching anything about you," said Noah.
Jake had nothing to say, and Lu Lijun had no complaints as what Jake knew was the truth of his life.
"What’s your plan now?" Jake asked.
"I’ll leave her alone for a while," said Lu Lijun.
"That good. For now, you need to be prepared to face the wrath of Mr. Wen," Noah commented.
"I know."
The three had breakfast together and talked about what actions they could expect from Mr. Wen.
In Ming industries.
Lu Lian and Ming Rusheng were busy discussing the development of the project in his office. The project, when it would be completed, Lu Lian would leave the Ming Industries.
"The way it’s going, it would be finished before the deadline," said Lu Lian.
"Hmm." Ming Rusheng nodded lightly, looking into the file as he thought, ’I hope it to be ongoing forever.’
Since the last talk between Ming Rusheng and Lu Lian after he returned, the two didn’t talk much and maintained only a professional relationship.
Ming Rusheng wanted to tell her everything, but he was troubled with what she said to him when he said he had something to tell her.
historical
"The last thing I want is to hate you."
These lines, she said, continued to buzz in his ears since that day, and he couldn’t gather the courage. When he finally decided to tell her, this engagement matter happened. and decided to wait for some more time.
"How’s everything at home?" Ming Rusheng asked.
"Everything is fine," she replied, not adding any more details to it.
"Lu Lijun?"
"He is fine too," she replied, being busy at work.
"And you?" he asked, finally looking at her, who was busy working.
She stopped working as it surprised her but didn’t look at him.
"I’m fine too," and resumed her work.
"If you want to talk, I’m here," he offered.
"I’ll keep in mind," she replied.
