Chapter 1344: Don’t Leave Me

Chapter 1344: Don’t Leave Me

On the way toward the bridge, Jiang Yuyan’s anxiety was increasing. Her hands were shivering and her lips were trembling. She looked like a scared lamb who was worried to face the worst and praying for everything to be fine.

Xiao felt worried. He was already worried after hearing about the accident but now his boss’s condition was worrying him more.

After driving for a long time, suddenly the car stopped. Jiang Yuyan looked at the driver angrily, “Why did you stop?”

“Boss, the road is blocked due to an accident and for now no cars are allowed to cross the bridge till they clear the place of the accident,” the driver replied.

Jiang Yuyan looked outside and realized they were already on the bridge but had to stop there. She opened the door of the car and stepped outside though it was still mildly raining.

“Boss..” Xiao Min called for her but she was already gone before he could say more. Xiao Min also stepped out of the car and ran after her.

Jiang Yuyan removed her heels and threw them away so she could run faster. Bare feet, under the rain she was running forward like crazy while crossing so many cars along the road. The ones who stepped out of the car to check what was going on, saw her running and tried to stop her from going ahead but she listened to no one.

Xiao Min caught up to her. “Boss, please stop.”

Jiang Yuyan didn’t listen and continued running. After running non-stop for almost twenty minutes, she reached the place of an accident where the police had sealed the huge area on the bridge and allowed no one. The ambulances were leaving on one free lane which carried the patients and the entire place had the sound of their sirens.

Jiang Yuyan searched for Lu Lijun but all she could see were police, medical staff and other help.

Impatiently she crossed the restricted area but the police officer around stopped her, “Miss, you can’t come inside. It’s...”

“My family is there,” she said as her eyes were only searching for Lu Lijun. Xiao Min came there, “I am sorry, officer.”

Before he could say more, Jiang Yuyan already moved ahead to go to where she was seeing cars from a distance which looked like they had crashed in an accident and ambulances were busy carrying the injured. It was a big accident and not just one or two but multiple vehicles were involved in it.

“Miss,” the police officer called her and looked at his other female subordinate, “Stop her.”

The female subordinates went after her while this police officer stopped Xiao Min from going after her, “Mister, you are not allowed to go there.”

Xiao Min was helpless and didn’t know what to do. He was worried about what must have happened and what Jiang Yuyan would do.

Jiang Yuyan reached closer to those crashed cars and once again it was as if that accident scene from the past played out in front of her eyes. She felt short for breath and her vision was going blurry, “Lu Qiang,” she mumbled.

Just then the lady officers reached her, “Miss, please come with us.”

Jiang Yuyan could not hear them as she was lost in her world of pain from her sad past. Seeing her not listening to them, the lady police held Jiang Yuyan’s arm to drag her out from there but just then she heard someone, “Leave her.”

That was Jake who was with the police officer and who saw Jiang Yuyan. The lady officer let her go and Jake went to Jiang Yuyan, “President Lu.”

She didn’t seem well and didn’t hear him. She was unaware of what was going on around her and was lost in the terrifying past which she felt was real and again she had lost someone dear to him. She ran towards the black car which was upside down and was emitting smoke.

Jake followed her and held her to stop her from going toward that car. She struggled but he had no other option but to hold her tightly in his embrace and said, “He is fine. Lu Lijun is fine.”

Jiang Yuyan stopped struggling as if she had heard the most assuring words and looked at him with her teary and scared-looking eyes.

Jake gave her an assuring look and said, “Trust me he is fine.”

She shook her head, “You are lying. Let me go.” She was no better than a little girl who was hard to convince.

“I am not lying. He is there,” Jake pointed towards a certain place where police officers carrying umbrellas were talking to someone wearing a white shirt and black pants.

Jiang Yuyan recognised him but before she could take a step further, she felt like all the strength in her legs was gone. She was about to fall down but Jake held her.

Lu Lijun who was answering police officers suddenly noticed her and ran towards her. He held her and caught her in his embrace, “What are you doing here?” he asked her worriedly, trying his best to keep her from falling.

She didn’t answer him and only said, “Don’t leave me.” The next moment she closed her eyes and went unconscious.

Worried, Lu Lijun lifted his arms and heard the police officer that accompanied Jake, “We need to take her to hospital.”

Lu Lijun carried her to one ambulance where the police officer guided his way. Noah arrived there after answering the police and asked Jake, “What happened? Why is President Lu here?”

“She must have heard Lu Lijun was in this accident,” Jake replied.

“I thought she would be at the airport by this time boarding her flight,” Noah replied.

“Hmm,” Jake nodded and then looked at Noah who had a small bandage on his forehead, “Are you fine?” There was worry in his soft voice.

Noah averted his sight from him and simply nodded. “We need to accompany him.” Just then Xiao Min managed to enter the place and came to them. “Where is President Lu?”

“Lu Lijun took her to the hospital. We are going there,” Jake answered.

“Let’s go then,” Xiao Min said and the three left.

On the way to the car, Xiao Min asked, “How was she?”

“She didn’t look like herself,” Jake answered. “And when she saw Lu Lijun, she went unconscious after saying ‘Don’t leave me.'”

Xiao Min pinched the place between his brows as if things were going bad.
