Chapter 1352: Her Obedient Behaviour
Chapter 1352: Her Obedient Behaviour
Jiang Yuyan was resting in her room while Lu Lijun was working in his office.
It was lunch time and Martha came to the office, “Fourth Young master, it’s time to have lunch.”
Lu Lijun who would normally reply to her saying he will have it later, looked at her, “Okay.”
It surprised Martha, “Seems like the fourth young master finally started paying to the need of his stomach,” she smiled teasingly.
“Martha, I am sure it’s still not about his stomach,” Noah said as he smiled like her.
“I am just happy that he agreed to eat,” saying Martha left.
Lu Lijun stood up and looked at Xiao Min and Noah, “You two go first. I will be there.” He left the room to go to Jiang Yuyan to call her for lunch.
Martha just closed Jiang Yuyan’s room door and saw Lu Lijun coming there, “Young mistress seems to be in deep sleep. I didn’t wake her up.”
He nodded, “I will check.”
Lu Lijun entered the room where Jiang Yuyan was sleeping in the bed. His eyes didn’t fail to notice the distress on her calm-looking sleeping face. Lu Lijun stepped closer to the bed with light footsteps. There was a thin layer of sweat on her forehead and she looked like was having a nightmare.
‘Nightmare? Again?’
He sat at the edge of the bed and held her hand which was gripping the quilt tightly. She was murmuring something in her sleep in a low voice and Lu Lijun could guess what she was saying.
‘She is still having nightmares about that accident. Brother Tian said she was fine till a few years back but after returning from England whenever I went to her room, she always seemed to have these nightmares. She never came out of it. She was and is still suffering. How frustrating must it be for her?’ Lu Lijun was immersed in his thoughts while caressing her hands to comfort her as his eyes worriedly looked at her.
He didn’t realize that she was awake and could feel his presence. She opened her eyes and looked at her who was holding her hand.
He smiled at her lightly, “You awake?”
She nodded, looking at her feeling puzzled as to why he was there.
“It’s time for lunch. You should get up,” he instructed.
She agreed and he helped her sit in the bed.
“Do you want to freshen up?” he asked, looking at her sweaty face.
She nodded and he said, “I will wait here.”
Jiang Yuyan went to freshen up and returned. She heard Lu Lijun say, “It will be better if we all have lunch together.”
She agreed and both went to the dining table. Jiang Yuyan saw Xiao Min and Noah sitting around the dining table. Lu Lijun pulled out the chair for her which was on his right side and made her sit while he himself sat in his chair where he always sat for the past ten years when he was staying in this home- the chair of head of the family. His and Jiang Yuyan’s sitting arrangement was the same that of in Lu Mansion where she always sat on his right side.
Just then Jake arrived there. “I hope you have made lunch for me, Martha.”
Martha smiled, “Of course. Have a seat.”
Jake sat next to Naoh and looked at Jiang Yuyan, “How are you now, President Lu?”
“I am fine,” she answered politely.
“The way Lu Lijun is taking care of her, I am sure President Lu will be alright soon,” Noah commented.
Everyone looked at him to know what had gotten into him that he dared tease President Lu when she was present in front of him and looked at him.
“What? Did I say anything wrong? Even President Lu knows how much he cares for her,” Noah countered shamelessly and looked at Jiang Yuyan, “Am I wrong, President Lu?”
Jaing Yuyan acted as if she was thirsty and grabbed the glass of water and simply nodded to what Noah said.
“See, President Lu agrees with me.”
No one could say a word. Lu Lijun stayed silent while Xiao Min and Jake offered appreciative smiles to Noah as they were pleased with what Noah said.
After lunch, Jiang Yuyan talked to Xiao Min, “Bring me my laptop and files.”
“Boss, are you gonna work?”
“Do you expect me to sit idle the entire day?” she asked and went to her room.
Lu Lijun got to know it when Xiao Min was bringing the files to Jiang Yuyan. “What is it?”
“Boss asked for it,” Xiao Min informed.
“No need. I will talk to her,” Lu Lijun assured.
He went to Jiang Yuyan’s room, who was sitting, ready to step out of the room from the slider doors that opened in the lawn.
“It’s time for medicines,” he took the medicines and glass of water for her.
Jiang Yuyan had it and heard him, “Don’t work for now. These medicines will always make you feel sleepy so just rest.”
She only nodded. Lu Lijun was surprised that after that incident she listened to everything he said. ‘Why is she so obedient? What’s the matter? I can’t seem to accept her behaviour like this.’
She had the medicines and looked at Lu Lijun. He got back to his senses and asked, “Do you want to go out?”
“Hmm,” she nodded.
“Let’s go then,” Lu Lijun was taking care of her as if she was a kid and she didn’t mind it.
The two went out as they walked on the lawn to stop at the place where the view of the mountain was clear and the cold breeze felt better.
Xiao Min and Noah could see them through the slider door of their room that also opened on the lawn. “Both look good together like this,” Noah commented.
“Hmm,” Xiao Min agreed, “I hope things will stay the same.”
When the two were praying for them, the other two were accompanying each other in silence.
After some time passed in silence, Jiang Yuyan spoke. “Last night, in the hospital...”
“You don’t have to explain anything to me. I know you thought I was brother Qiang. Brother An Tian already told me that you might think I was him,” Lu Lijun said before she could say the entire thing.
Jiang Yuyan stayed silent and continued looking ahead.
