Chapter 467: Clervine City
Charles then shifted his gaze towards Melody and spoke to her through telepathy.
'Once we reach the Royal Capital, I want you to sneak into the Royal Capital and assassinate Duke Ismael's family members. Don't show any mercy and kill anyone on the spot.' He paused for a moment, shifted his gaze towards Irzoch, and asked her through the same method.
'Irzoch, did you take Cardinal Smith's severed hand from the pocket dimension?'
'Melody has it in her spatial bracelet, My Lord.' Irzoch responded to him in an instant.
Meanwhile, Charles acted like he was studying the Prophecy Book and added.
'Good. I want you to kill the crown prince using Cardinal Smith's identity. Can you do it?'
On the other hand, Irzoch maintained her calm look and responded.
'It's not a problem, My Lord.'
Charles was pleased by her response and then spoke.
'I placed a 'Light Badge' in your surcoat's left pocket. Once you kill the Crown Prince, place this 'Light Badge' next to the corpse and leave.'
Saying so, he shifted his attention towards the leather-covered book and continued to read.
On the other hand, Melody and Irzoch exchanged information through eyes and calmly waited for the carriage to reach the Royal Capital.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Smith peeked outside through the curtain gap and watched the nature scenario.
As the wooden carriage moved closer towards the Royal Capital, the outside vegetation became denser and appeared lush. Overgrown trees, shrubs, beautiful plants, and grassy areas covered the surroundings in mere moments.
A few minutes passed without any disturbance, but the carriages and the other cavalry knights suddenly stopped moving.
Then, Commander Corey came from the front and interrupted Charles's reading.
"Your Highness, we've reached the Royal Capital, but something feels off at the entrance." His voice contained a trace of anxiousness.
Charles halted his hand to flip the next page, closed the leather-covered book, and looked outside.
"What happened?" He asked while ultimately pushing the curtain to one side.
"The entrance gate is shut tightly, Your Highness." The Commander deliberated for a moment, wiped the sweat on his forehead, and then added.
"I-I also saw more than a hundred dead bodies hung from the city walls."
"Dead bodies?" Charles's eyebrows arched upward.
"Not only that, but the Royal Knights are standing on the city wall and even ordering us to surrender. They appear very hostile, Your Highness." The Commander said.
'Oh? The other side has already decided to kill the second prince, huh. Unfortunately, I don't have any time to play around.'
Muttering inwardly, Charles closed his eyes and released his full wisdom power.
An invisible ripple came out of his body a moment later, spread towards the whole surroundings, and soon enveloped the Royal City.
A second later, he saw the ins and outs of the Royal Palace, the clear picture of the hanging dead bodies, every citizen's movements, and so on.
He then continued to look inside the city and even saw a 30-years-old looking young man seated on the golden throne and ordering everyone like a king. There was also a middle-aged man who stood beside the young man, and he appeared to be monitoring everything in the throne hall.
But what surprised Charles was that the middle-aged man managed to perceive his wisdom power and looked around the surroundings in confusion.
'As expected of an Awaken, he is sharp and vigilant.'
Charles opened his eyes, turned towards the silver-armored Commander, and ordered.
"Tell our knights to dismount the horses and wait for my orders. In the meantime, I will go and see what those guys are up to."
As Commander Corey moved to the front, Charles turned towards Cardinal Smith and asked.
"Do you want to tag along, Mr. Smith?"
"Of course," Cardinal responded instantly and covered his head with the black hood.
On the other hand, Charles raised his hand, placed his hand on Cardinal's shoulder, and cast [Flame Teleportation] spell.
Simultaneously, he glanced at Melody and Irzoch and blinked his eyes.
The next instant, Charles and Cardinal Smith got enveloped in a crimson flame and disappeared from there.
They reappeared in front of a large closed metal gate and looked around a second later.
"Is that a spatial spell?" Cardinal Smith asked while shifting his gaze towards the city wall and soon frowned. At that moment, a foul smell assaulted his nose and caused him to cover it involuntarily.
He saw hundreds of dead bodies hanging outside the metal gate a second later and raised his eyebrows.
If the dead bodies belonged to criminals, he would've voluntarily cast some Light Spells to purge their bodies and souls.
But what appeared in front of his eyes were dead bodies of young women, elders, and small children!
"It's indeed a terrible thing. May the Divine Light befall on the withered souls!" His voice appeared emotionless, without even having a trace of pity or sympathy in it.
He shifted his gaze towards the top and soon sensed malicious stares from above.
At that moment, thousands of well-armored knights stood on top of the city wall and aimed their weapons in Charles's direction. Some knights held spears, and some held bow and arrow in their hands, and so on.
"What is your next plan?" Cardinal asked emotionlessly and soon froze.
"Something is not right. This place is filled with negative energies." He said with a frown.
He then tried to cast a light spell, but Charles stopped him.
"I've some use for these negative energies. These people must have worked in Prince Julius's mansion. So, it's more than enough for any ruler to execute them." He responded calmly, zeroed his gaze on a particular naked woman's dead body, and squinted his eyes.
"But this time, the self-crowned king indeed went too far." He added coldly.
In the meantime, Cardinal Smith also followed his gaze and soon widened his eyes in shock.
"Is she Prince Julius's mother?" Although he hadn't seen Julius's mother upfront, he vaguely saw the similarity between Charles's face and the dead body's face.
He instantly realized that Duke Ismael was planning on provoking Prince Julius and finishing him off in the name of justice.
"It's just like what that demon girl told us earlier. B-But, he is breaking the Church War Rule. Even if it is a Civil War, no one is allowed to kill any Royal family members or noble family members to seek vengeance."
'Tsk, he is also a typical church member, huh. The Church War Rule also stated that killing normal citizens in the name of war is not acceptable, but he hasn't spoken a single thing.' Charles felt that the Light Church members were almost like the politicians from his previous world.
Instead of responding, he cast [Fallen Angel's Wings] spell, flapped those eerie black wings, and shot towards the sky.

"Where are you going?" Cardinal Smith asked loudly, but no response came.
Startled by Charles's action, he hurriedly cast a spell called [Holy Wings], flapped those wings, and flew upward towards the sky.
Within a few seconds, he managed to get a clear view of this Royal City and got stunned by the beauty of the Royal City.
Clervine was the name of the Royal Capital of Aetas Kingdom. It was located in tropical plains, where the vegetation was lush.
Clervine grew around a well-maintained road, and the houses inside the city were well architected. The locals mainly harvest nuts and olives, and nearby was a region rich with clay and granite deposits. The Royal City appeared more ancient and old from the sky, with the church and a grand palace at the center.
While Cardinal Smith was admiring the beauty, Charles reached the height of 2500 meters, raised his right hand, and cast [Black Inferno] spell.
