Chapter 87 - Meeting Mother After Two Years
Xian woke up early in the morning. He freshened up and then came out of his room. He called Li Wei to cancel his schedule and then after that he called Ling Chou to his house. Standing in front of the mirror he was thinking about his mother whom he didn't meet for two whole years. Mark knocked at the door and then entered inside his room.
"You're up early,"said Mark and looked around the room. "Xian what is this burning here, in this dustbin?," asked Mark and looked inside the bin. His gaze fell on photos of Xian and Mishi which were burnt, some completely while others a little bit.
Xian turned to him and said, "I'm going home. There's nothing left here." Mark walked to him and said, "Xian, what did you do last night?" He was concerned for his brother.
Xian was going to speak when Ling Chou rang the bell. Xian went out of the room to open the main door. Lan Zhan was sitting on the couch in the living room and saw Xian in a different avatar.
"Ling Chou, please shift my things back to my mother's home. Throw away the things of the left side cupboard. Lan Zhan looked at Xian.
"Sir, till noon we will be done shifting. I'll send all your belongings there," said Ling Chou. Lau came out of the kitchen and went towards the living room hearing the commotion. Mark too came there. "I'm going home," said Xian looking at Mark. Lau smiled hearing this while Lan Zhan & Mark were in confusion.
"Xian, I'm also coming," said Mark.
"Hmm...Lan Zhan, Lau you both can stay here if you want or if you wanna come with me that's also good. Whatever thing you both like," said Xian with a smile. He then walked out of the house. Mark too followed him. They both reached the house in fifteen minutes. A smile appeared on his lips seeing his house after two years. He stepped inside the gate and saw a housemaid giving water to the plants in the garden.
"Xian," mumbled his mother, Biyu. Hearing his name from his mother's mouth he got overwhelmed. He looked into his mother's eyes and felt guilty when he saw tears were flowing from her eyes. He clenched his fist and then ran to his mother giving a tight hug to her. Unknowingly tears started flowing off his eyes as his mother embraced him. "I'm sorry mom to leave you behind like this," said Xian.
Biyu cupped his face and wiped off the tears from his eyes. She looked at him and said, "What has happened to you. Look at yourself, it seems like you haven't eaten for years."
"Mom, then how can I be alive if I haven't eaten? Sorry for not coming earlier. I should've taken care of you both," said Xian and then looked at Mark. Mark too came to them and they hugged each other. "I won't ever leave you two."
"What about Mishi? Will she come home?," asked Biyu.
"No. I divorced her. Mom, I have no relation with her now. I hope you both won't ever take her name in front of me. The biggest mistake of my life was to marry her," said Xian with a grim look. Mark looked at Xian. Biyu took them inside and told Binxi to set the breakfast table for them.
Biyu made both her sons eat till their stomach hurts. "Mom, if I will anymore I'm telling you my stomach will have a good blast," said Xian. Mark laughed hearing this. "Mom, he's saying the truth. We won't be able to eat more," said Mark. After finishing their breakfast Biyu told Xian to go to his room. He pushed the door of his room and found everything was at its place. "I really missed my room," murmured Xian. Looking around he found his wedding photo placed beside his bed on the table. He threw the photo into the bin.
Ling Chou knocked at his room's door. Xian turned towards him and told him to get in. "Sir, your things will come in an hour. Should I close that house or put it on the sale?"
"Sale it out," said Xian and rested himself on the bed. He nodded and then walked away from there. Xian went towards Mishi's cupboard and then opened it up. Staring inside the cupboard for a while he closed it and locked the cupboard and put the keys inside the cabinet beside the cupboard.
By evening everything was set in his room and study room. Mark came to him in his study room and said, "Xia has taken over the project and she has called a meeting with you tomorrow morning."
"Tell her that the meeting will be held at noon," said Xian and took out a book from the shelf. He sat on the chair and started reading the book. Mark too sat on the chair opposite to him. "Don't ask what happened to me? Why am I behaving like this? Because I won't answer you these questions," said Xian.
"Okay I won't. Well it's about the project. Xia is a hot headed girl. She yelled at me when I told her that you won't take the meeting tomorrow. Attend the meeting in the morning," said Mark, looking at Xian.
"It's your headache to handle her. Tell her if she can wait till noon then it's good else call off this deal. In both ways they will be affected," said Xian and turned the page of the book.
"Where are you going in the morning?," asked Mark.
"To meet Yin. She was our friend at some point of our life and she's still a friend. She was indeed with us when we both were at our lowest. I've many things to talk about with her," said Xian.
"I also wanted to but she doesn't want to meet me. She shouldn't have done that," said Mark and sighed. Xian closed the book and put it on the table. He looked at Mark and said, "I'm a bad brother, Mark. I used you both for my selfish motives. Yin and you can be together today but I came in between you two. She started loving me while I was in love with someone else. You sacrificed a lot Mark. You sacrificed your likeness towards her just to make her happy but I made your lives worse. Had I not be there then you both would've been together. She is not at fault. It was me from the start, so forgive me."
"Xian what are you saying? You ain't at fault. I guess it's because of our negligence towards Yin. I used to tell her that I love her but what kind of love was that when I couldn't see her pain. That's the reason she doesn't want to see me," said Mark and rubbed his eyes. He laid his head back on the chair and closed his eyes.
Seeing his brother in such a condition Xian felt bad. "Mark I'm going out for some work," said Xian and got up from the chair.
"What work?", asked Mark and opened his head. "Tell the truth that you're going for a drink," said Mark.
"Hmm...I need it. Do you wanna come?," asked Xian.
"What about mom?," asked Mark.
"Chung is with her. We won't drink much..," said Xian, looking at him.
Mark got up from his chair and said, "Let's go then. It has been a long time since we both drank together." They both left the house informing Biyu.
In the bar they both were sitting in the far right corner.
"Do you remember the day when our company achieved the number one position?," asked Mark and sipped the alcohol.
"Hm...eight years ago," said Xian and then gulped the drink in one go. He poured down the drink for himself and they both talked about their old days. After some time Mark excused himself from there saying he has to go to the washroom. Xian was thinking about Mishi when two girls came there and asked him if she could sit there as all the other seats were full.
Xian didn't say anything and was busy drinking when the girls took their seats. One beside her and another girl sat opposite to them. "Are you alone here?," asked the girl who took a seat beside Xian.
"Why? What do you need?," asked Xian without looking at her.
"Nothing," replied the girl.
"There are many vacant seats on the second floor, you both can go there because I'm not really in the mood of talking with you both," said Xian and then glared at them. The girls got up from there and were ready to leave when Mark came there and saw them.
"Crazy idiot," said one of them and then they both walked away from there. Mark looked at them and started laughing.
"You really didn't change," said Mark, looking at Xian.
"Those girls don't know who they were talking to," said Xian in anger and got up from his place. "Let's go, I don't want to drink anymore." Saying this Xian walked out from there.
