CH 2.1
“Father, he's a patient.”
“What patient! Isn't he looking at me now with both eyes open!"
The old man angrily shouted, the middle-aged man who accompanied him tried to calm him down whilst also glancing at Yeon Seo. Concern for him was evident on his face.
"Father, the doctor told you to watch your blood pressure. Please let's calm down and talk.”
"Why should I calm down!”
Seeing his son, who was wrapped in bandages, his father, Vice-Chairman Yoo Geon Min, was in tears. Although his son, who had been diagnosed with the possibility of becoming a vegetable-human, had woken up safely. He couldn't help but feel bad about his own situation, where he had to prioritize his father, Chairman Yoo's feelings.
“Let's stop it. Our Yeon Seo is father's grandson, right? Didn't we almost lose him? What will happen next if all we do is get angry as soon as he wakes up?"
"That...sigh."
Judging by what he said, he must be this body's father, and then the old man is his paternal grandfather. Kang Jin Hoo, who became Yeon Seo, observed them without a word.
The young man who had been standing quietly next to the old man approached Yoo Yeon Seo and sat down next to him.
"You've regained consciousness. That's a relief."
Based on the way he speaks, he must be my brother. Based on the ease with which he speaks, is he the older one?
Yoo Yeon Seo’s prediction was correct. He is Yoo Eun Ho, the older brother of Yoo Yeon Seo, the youngest Vice-President of Jusung Group and the third-gen successor to Chairman Yoo.
"You..."
"Yeon Seo," said the young man, worriedly, as he watched Yeon Seo stare blankly into space. "What happened? Are you okay?"
Yeon Seo nervously bit his lower lip. Wouldn't it be possible for close family members to sense any changes in Yeon Seo? As a time traveller, it was important not to let others notice any changes in him.
<Hello, host. I am Beta-9. It seems we are in a difficult situation. Would you like to activate the [Automatic Action Mode] based on the information of your body?>
<However, please note that this may cause an overload on your body, resulting in pain.>
It was more important to get out of this situation first. Yoo Yeon Seo nodded slightly.
< [Automatic Action Mode] accepted.>
<I will set it to automatically turn off when it exceeds the limit of the physical body.>
“······You are behaving well.”
“What, what do you mean by that?”
Yeon Seo immediately fired back at the old man. The old man's previously softened heart became agitated once again by Yoo Yeon Seo's words.
"Yeon Seo. Why are you doing this again···."
It seems that this was not the first or the second time that he had talked back, but his father, Vice-Chairman Yoo Geon Min, sighed deeply, feeling frustrated.
'Looks like there's a lot of resentment for the old man?'
Isn't it common courtesy for people of this era to show respect to their elderly? I don't think the original's personality is normal either? Yoo Yeon Seo was also embarrassed inside, but the mouth that others say is the 'Misfortune's Beak' did not stop talking.
“Didn't you say that you wouldn't care about what happens to me so as long am still ‘that damn bastard’!”
“You...how dare you talk back to your grandfather!!”
Chairman Yoo shouted loudly. Even Yeon Seo did not want to lose either and stood up angrily, however, the recoil staggered him. His older brother Yoo Eun Ho hurriedly grabbed Yeon Seo by the shoulders to support him.
“You even pressured the agency and made me leave my group, you should have been satisfied!”
Yoo Yeon Seo's eyes turned red as a tear fell.
“I even entered Korea University just as my grandfather wished. But you weren't satisfied, and you forced me to go into the military! What kind of fault are you trying to find this time?!”
“Yeon Seo. Calm down.”
Chairman Yoo, who was ready to rush in, was blocked by Yoo Geon Min, and Yoo Eun Ho pressed his forehead as if he were tired. When Chairman Yoo can't overcome his eccentric temper and shouts loudly, Yeon Seo refuses to back down and confronts him instead. It was Yoo Geon Min and Yoo Eun Ho who always had to mitigate the situation.
"Yes! If you had just followed the plan laid out for you. Go to college, then study, then work at the company. What are you doing now? An actor?"
"Why did you come to this place then, grandfather? I did what you wanted and even went to university, and now I'm an actor. But why are you suddenly here, criticizing me?
"That's because you had an accident...!"
“But is it my fault that the accident happened? Why do you tell me to behave well as soon as I see you? Is it that hard to ask how I am?” Do you know how hard it is for me to hear you say that when you haven't even cared about me for years?"
Yoo Yeon Seo was experiencing the emotions that the original host must have felt. This ranged from resentment and anger towards his grandfather who had blocked his path, and even a desire to be recognised and finally a feeling of joy that his grandfather came to visit him.
'Even if you say this, you seem to like your grandfather quite a bit?'
But was it really necessary to get into a fight? It seemed the old man was also worried about his grandson, so wouldn't it be beneficial to speak kindly? Yoo Yeon Seo felt sorry. It was because as Kang Jin Hoo, he had lived without experiencing familial affection.
"That damn fool."
"Grandfather, let's just go home for now. Yeon Seo is still regaining his senses, so there's no need to be hasty."
Chairman Yoo's face turned red and he was unable to speak, so Yoo Eun Ho tried to pacify his grandfather. He stared at Yeon Seo with a reproachful face.
“Yeon Seo, you too, stop arguing with grandfather. Even though you speak like this, it was still grandfather who has always been considerate of you.”
“Eun Ho, don't do that."
Chairman Yoo urgently called out to Yoo Eun Ho. He felt flustered by the truth that he didn't want to be found out.
Yeon Seo made a surprised expression. The confused emotions, he felt were overwhelming.
"Then that means..."
Seeing Yoo Yeon Seo's crumbling face, Chairman Yoo cleared his throat.
"Well, it's good to see that you are fine."
"Grandfather."
Yoo Yeon Seo called, but Chairman Yoo turned around and headed out of the hospital room without regret.
Yoo Geon Min, who was looking for an opportunity, gently pushed back Yoo Yeon Seo's dishevelled bangs. The current Yeon Seo was unfamiliar with such affectionate touch.
“Son, I will come back later. I'm really glad you woke up.”
"Vice-Chairman! Follow me!"
"Yes, yes. I am coming, Father."
Yoo Eun Ho, the only one left, helped Yeon Seo to sit back on the bed.
“I'll take care of everything, so focus on getting better.”
"..."
“Be sure to apologize to grandfather later.”
"······uh."
When Yoo Yeon Seo reluctantly answered, Yoo Eun Ho patted his shoulder lightly.
As the three men left, the room became quiet again.
<[Automatic Action Mode] deactivated.>
