No Matter How Long Time Passes, I Still Love You

Chapter 65 - Definition of Failure

Her sudden entrance melted the frost temperature around Chen Mu's office. Traces of warmth lingered in his gaze as he watched his girl standing up for herself. Not only did she have the confidence to come out of her shell against her family, she claimed him as her man in front of them.

Reciprocating her intimate action, he hugged her waist and pecked her cheeks, "Sorry, I thought I could deal with them before you woke up from your nap."

"It's fine. They included me in this interesting threat that they were making. I'll give them a chance to continue what they were spitting out before." She narrowed her eyes and glared at the two stoned figures, "Well? I'm giving you a chance right now to talk. But talk at your own risk because for every word you speak, it'll cost the Yin family a million dollars. How many millions would you be able to lose?"

"What do you mean? How is this even a discussion?" Zin Leung gritted his teeth at the sight of his daughter sitting on the enemy's lap and flirting without caring about his existence.

"Fine. I'll be logical then. Firstly, my darling only accepts appointments and you two barged in here like hooligans. Then, you refused to leave the company unless you get to speak with him today. After spitting out pointless things trying to save your business, you even pushed me out as the safe card? What is there to discuss to begin with if you were the only party who wanted to talk about this?"

"You unfilial daughter!" his chest heaved up and down as if his blood had reached its boiling point.

"Unfilial? Then we can talk about that too. When have I ever been unfilial? Hmm? When you decided to combine Karen and my birthday party together to save money even though you're rich enough to hold ten centuries worth of grand balls? Or to the point where you always forgot about my birthday was a month after hers? Or shall we go back on the fact that you've received benefits from the Tian family after my marriage and lied to me about never receiving a cent from them?"

Her points were strong and hard to counterargue as she continued speaking firmly, "When you kicked me out that year because you believed in Karen's words about me stealing money from you and spending it, have you ever thought of me being a filial daughter? When you accused me at the hospital after all the efforts that I've given to this family and the prosperous business that is now going downslope, where did such a great dad go? During these times, how much of a dad were you?"

"You're right. I've in fact been too great of a daughter that I've endured such stupid family drama. I've suppressed my priorities and self importance. The filial daughter with the last ray of hope died the moment you lost the last bit of her trust and respect. These words reflect my feelings and thoughts from all these years. And now, this is the real me."

He squinted his eyes in dismay that she remembered all the crucial events that happened in the past. Still, he refused to back down on saving the business, "Susu, father was wrong. I wanted the best for you."

"Pfffft, the best for me? Seriously, who was it who just slapped my name onto the chess board and pushed me forward as a shield to protect his company? What call? When have I ever contacted you ever since that dinner? You even had the audacity to say that I would leave my man for this crap family? If that is the definition of being a father, then you are the definition of another term; failure."

Feeling her slightly trembling body, Chen Mu held her close to his body and rubbed her hand in his as she settled scores with her family. Karen opened her mouth and was about to speak, but was immediately cut off by Susu's tyrant murderous gaze, "And you. Stepsister my ass. You've done enough harm. Where did that arrogant part of you go? Oh wait, I forgot that your best bet is to act pitifully in front of men to gain their sympathy. Go on, try to win him over with your cries."

She couldn't utter a word or sound out of the cries she had earlier. Susu scoffed, "Yeah, that's right. Cat's got your tongue, didn't it? If you're that great in pleasing men, you should work at a bar or strip club. It'll stack up for the debts that your family will soon be in. Remember, just because we are from the same family, you can never be me because you were born from the other woman's w.o.m.b."

"Oh, right. As for the looks and talent, let me slap some reality to your face to kill your overconfidence because you've got none. So save those tears for the landlords, loan sharks, and all other debt collectors that may give you a second to show your despair. Are we done here now? Or you guys have more you want to spit out? I'm free to swing my bat and hit those words back at you."

She reached over for Chen Mu's mug and drank some water after speaking for so long. After she had swallowed, he wiped her lips dotingly and smiled seeing her release her words fearlessly. Seeing this scene made Karen chew on her lips and act even more bitter. "I can't believe it! You bitch! You slept with Tian Yuo, seduced him, and now you've got Chen Mu too! You vixen! You take everything away from me!! Just die!"

Chen Mu glared at her with a grim reaper's smile, "I haven't collected any debt yet and you're already spreading fire. Forget spilling the oil, I'll go straight with bursting the flames. Shall we list every single thing that you've done? Oh, of course this also refers to Yin Corps."

Hearing his words, Karen placed her hands to her h.i.p.s and raised her head high, "I've got nothing to be afraid of."

"Oh really? What about the property you bought for your upcoming fashion boutique? That cost at least 500 million dollars. I suppose for someone as amateur as you, having that large sum of money wouldn't be solely on your personal savings, right?"

She gulped at his response because that money was the amount that she took from her father and blamed it on Susu. If he exposed her, then she would literally have to dig her own grave using her own hands.
