CH 53
On the day of the festival at Daiki’s high school, he invited Wakaba to pick her up, but eventually Sasaki decided to go with them.
After meeting up with the others, Wakaba stayed by Sasaki’s side, but the others made it work out so that he was next to Wakaba.
The three of them were enjoying the festival, looking for Daiki’s classroom.
Finally, they found Daiki’s classroom.
After entering Daiki’s classroom, the girls in Daiki’s class showed us around in their cute outfits.
Wakaba was nervous and fidgety as she looked for Daiki.
Ren also looked for Daiki, but could not find him, so they decided to order takoyaki and drinks for the time being.
The takoyaki was delicious, but after finishing the meal, Daiki was nowhere to be found.
They waited for a little while but could not find him after all.
The three of them decided to contact Daiki after going around to other places, so they decided to move on.
As soon as they left Daiki’s classroom, Daiki was walking down the hallway with a girl who had been in Daiki’s class earlier.
Wakaba was frozen and he asked her what was wrong, but she remained silent.
When he asked if she was okay, Wakaba nodded silently.
Ren was jealous of Wakaba’s behavior.
So he pulled Wakaba’s arm and went to Daiki’s place.
“Where have you been, Daiki? We’ve been looking for you.”
Sasaki asked.
“I was just taking a break.
Did everyone come separately?
Where is everybody?”
Daiki was talking.
“We were separated from everyone else on the way to the break”
Ren joined the conversation at this point.
“I see,”
But when he saw Wakaba’s figure with her arm still pulled by Ren he said.
“I’m sorry, it’s time for me to go.
Have fun!”
And Daiki went back to the classroom.
Ren dared to speak while holding onto her arm in order to make Daiki misunderstand the current relationship with Wakaba.
He was thankful to Sasaki because he thought that Sasaki was doing a good job and Daiki was trying not to talk to Wakaba.
However, Ren was naive.
Wakaba did not speak to Daiki at all when she saw him.
She did not even look up at Daiki until he entered the classroom.
When he saw Daiki enter the classroom and looked at Wakaba, she froze for a moment.
She looked as if she was about to start crying.
Wakaba seemed to be desperately trying to hold back tears as if she was enduring something.
Her hands were also tight.
He thought he had to get away from the subject as soon as possible.
“I’m glad you got to meet Daiki.”
He told her.
“Let’s go to the other places and enjoy the festival!”
But Sasaki’s reaction was not very strong, and Wakaba just nodded her head in silence.
The rest of the festival turned out to be boring.
Wakaba was trying hard to smile, but she could not hide her shock.
Sasaki also noticed this.
“Are you alright? Wakaba?”
Sasaki asked worriedly.
Wakaba felt bad, too.
“I’m feeling a little sick.
I’ll be fine after a little rest!”
She said.
“We’ve already had a good time today, so let’s tell everyone and go home first”
Ren couldn’t bear to tell her, but
“I’m sorry, I’ll go home alone.”
Wakaba said.
“I can’t let you go home alone”
Sasaki added.
“I’ll take you home, so Shiraishi, go join the others and enjoy the party until the end.”
Sasaki said.
Wakaba and Sasaki were to go home first.
Ren regretted.
She should not have met Daiki, she should have avoided him, but the moment she met Daiki, he saw Wakaba’s face and got jealous.
He wanted to show Daiki how he felt.
He thought that if he showed him holding Wakaba’s arm, he could make Daiki think that he was closer to Wakaba than Daiki.
He could make Daiki think so, but it had the opposite effect on Wakaba, who was the most important person in his life.
He should have thought more carefully about this.
He thought about this all the time on the way home.
If things continued as they were now, he would be completely dumped.
Ren was beginning to lose his cool.
He decided to tell everyone that he had confessed his feelings to Wakaba, and asked them to help him get together with her so that it would be harder for her to reject him, thereby closing the outer moat.
