CH 56
Wakaba was thinking about what Chika had told her while resting in the infirmary.
Wakaba said she didn’t need to rest, but Chika told her she needed time to think, and she was not feeling well, so she was forced to take a break.
“I don’t know what to do..”
Until she met everyone, she had planned to tell Ren how she felt about Wakaba.
But after everyone had said so much, it was hard to say it right away.
“I have to refuse because originally it was my fault for not being clear. I have to tell him.”
Wakaba decided to tell.
When she returned to the classroom from the infirmary, she found that she had been naive.
She had been given first period off, so she returned during recess, but as soon as she entered the classroom, the teacher asked her,
“Are you okay? Forgive me if you are still in bad shape.”
“Are you feeling better?”
And so on.
“I’m fine now. Thank you.”
she answered cheerfully
“I’m glad to hear that. Now let me ask you, when did Shiraishi-kun confess to you?”
“I want to hear it, I want to hear it?!”
Everyone started talking to her at once.
Wakaba was puzzled.
“Did you already give him an answer?”
“Of course you’re going out with him, right?”
And so on, the conversation spread out even before she could answer.
Even though she didn’t answer any of these questions, they were getting excited on their own.
Then the chime sounded.
“Let’s hear a lot about it during lunch!
And everyone returned to their seats.
Wakaba looked at Chika.
Chika had no time to help her, because it was more than she had expected.
Wakaba sat down in her own seat and realized that she had been naive.
She had thought it was just a problem between the two of them
But it had already become everyone’s problem.
As a high school student, it was difficult for Wakaba to find the courage to face this problem.
Despite her feelings, things were proceeding on their own.
If she had told him how she felt and rejected the confession, it might have ended without incident.
However, the most frightening part is the process of telling him.
Because she does not know what will happen or what will change.
Chika, seeing what she saw now, thought again that she shouldn’t tell him now.
Two people who originally stood out were about to get together.
There was no way that onlookers would not make a fuss.
Chika felt responsible again.
If only she had not done anything unnecessary and let Wakaba reject the confession right away, this would not have happened.
She had to protect Wakaba somehow, and she had to take some time to calm things down.
That’s what she thought.
Daiki had been smiling ever since that day.
He had always smiled at school and at home in order to fit in with everyone and not to worry them.
All of his friends began to notice his discomfort.
Shion also tried to talk to Daiki as much as possible, listening for any changes, but nothing changed.
So Shion decided to ask him directly.
“Daiki, are you all right?
You seem to be forcing a smile since the festival.
There were people who seemed to be your local friends, but did something happen with them?
If something happened, I’ll listen to what you have to say, so why don’t you tell me?”
She tried to tell Daiki that.
“I’m not forcing myself!
I’m fine, Shion.
Thank you for worrying about me!”
He said.
She couldn’t help but worry about Daiki.
There was little Shion could do now.
All she could do was wait until he talked to her.
His friends were also worried about him, but he would never tell them why, so they had no choice but to wait until he told them himself.
