Data.199 – Another Perspective: Invisible Experience

“I-I’m surprised that you noticed our Fixer..! When she’s always invisible..!”

The Unison was a Nurse Chameleon, and as its name suggested, it specialized in healing.

The color of its skin and the patterns on it resembled a nurse’s clothes as well, but that wasn’t what should be focused on.

This Unison was invisible by default.

In other words, it wasn’t using a skill to become invisible. And so it had to take damage in order to show itself..

Was this such a big deal?

..Some players might think that. But it was a big difference.

If it was invisible by default, that meant it would stay like that even if its MP ran out or no matter how much time passed.

It wouldn’t be restricted with time limits and cool downs like Necoco, who had to use MP and then run her fastest.

It was just always invisible.

And so ever since the event started, no spectators had seen Fixer at all.

In cases where you used a skill to become invisible, people would be able to see you when warping to a field where skills couldn’t be used. But not with Fixer.

And while you would be able to see her after dealing enough damage, it was difficult to hit an enemy that you couldn’t see.

Besides, the Nurse Chameleon didn’t have many attack skills, and had a very gentle and non-aggressive personality.

If there was an enemy that could die after one more hit, and an ally that only taken a little damage, then the Nurse Chameleon would still prioritize healing.

And so it was difficult to detect her presence.

If she did attack, you could at least try and counter. But if she didn’t, then you wouldn’t even know that she was there.

The other parties that had fought against the Straight Knights had all thought it odd that they couldn’t find her, but they had not realized that she was following Buckler the entire time and healing him.

And if you didn’t know about her, it would just look like Buckler was really tough, and that he seemed to recover quickly even if you were dealing damage to him.

Furthermore, unlike monsters, a player’s HP was not displayed above their heads, which also helped hide Fixer’s healing.

As long as they weren’t regrowing limbs, it was difficult to tell by someone’s appearance that they had healed.

Yes. Fixer was hidden in many different ways.

However, Necoco had realized her presence.

“I noticed, because I use invisibility as well. People always try to find my position, and use many different methods. And so I also learned how to figure out if someone is invisible.”

“How to tell..if someone is invisible?!”

“I’m not going to tell you all my secrets, but footsteps are one way. I could hear the squishy sounds that were clearly different from other players.”

“Re-really..? I didn’t notice anything..”

“And the biggest reason is..you. I could see that your eyes were always following something! You can see it, can’t you? It would be ridiculous if you couldn’t see your own team mate!”

“Grrrrr!!”

Sweeper pretended to be sweet, but she was actually quite vicious.

However, she would still feel bad about attacking a teammate who was healing her, and so she adjusted her movements based on where Fixer was positioned.

And that kindness was her downfall.

“Now, that’s enough talking..!”

Sweeper had already been low on HP, and it was while she was being healed that she was hit by Claw Missiles. And so she had lost what remained of her HP, and her body was already disappearing.

And so was Fixer, who was on the ground next to her.

As it was an invisible healer, it would surely be weak to attacks.. That was what Necoco had determined.

However, once they had disappeared completely, the only death that was announced was Sweeper’s.

Necoco felt a chill run down her spine.

“What the hell am I doing..!”

While the way that Fixer had disappeared was the same as when a player died, it was actually the effect of ‘Great Actor’s Fake Death.’

With these Nurse Chameleons, after they show themselves when taking damage, they would slowly turn invisible again.

But this charge attack allowed them to turn invisible in a way that resembled a dying player.

To be precise, its body would start to glow, and then slowly turn into particles of light that fade away..

Of course, it was just turning invisible and not actually disappearing. So you could still attack it.

If you wanted to defeat a nurse chameleon, then you had to keep attacking it even if you think it’s dead. However, this act was considered quite rude during PvP.

Besides, the nurse chameleon really did look like it was dead.

And Necoco had not felt like attacking a small animal that had fallen limply to the ground.

So her kindness had also been her downfall.

She had let her guard down. But Unisons were rare monsters, and so it was not strange for people to not know how to deal with them.

Humans couldn’t always choose the best decisions, and they sometimes made mistakes.

People might tell you to not make the same mistakes repeatedly, but making mistakes repeatedly was normal.

(It cannot be helped.. I just need to find it again and defeat it.. I found it once, after all..! Now, I have to go and help the others!)

Necoco managed to rouse herself, and then went off to support the others.

After the fight with Sweeper began, she had become separated from Satomi, Anne, and Kyuji.

However, there had been no announcement, so that meant they were all alive.

So they were not at a disadvantage..! If anything, things were moving in their favor!

“We just have to keep going..”

What Necoco saw when she reached the next battlefield was Crusher, who was fighting 1 vs 5 against Satomi, Anne and the Unisons.

And then there was Buckler, who was rolling towards them while still covered in a silver aura.
