CH 21
Wa—- hahaha! You fell for it, Miss Ulysses! I’ve been waiting for you to turn your tail like this!!!!
I’ve been waiting for the moment when you’d pass yourself off as Elizabeth!!!!!!!
I exclaimed in my heart..but there was no way I was going to do that in front of them.
Let me tell you how I honestly feel.
There is no way the angel Elizabeth would do such a thing. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!
....I know it’s not true, but I would still pretend to be surprised and say what she want to hear. To catch the culprit red-handed, I have to play with them.
I had to pretend that my situation is as same as the others. As if I don’t know the difference between fiction and reality. ....
Ulysses puts her hand away from the girl’s trembling shoulder and exclaimed in a sad voice.
It was a kind voice.
A voice that soothed and comforted her as she overcame her fear, confessed her crimes, and uncovered the evil doing of the Duchess.
I’ve never been spoken to in a voice like that. ....
“What you have done, Lady Elizabeth? It is unbecoming of the Crown Prince’s fiancée. Your actions will harm the Crown Prince.”(Ulysses)
“Oh, yes. You have done well to confide in me.”(Vincent)
I was stunned at her overacting that I forgot to pretend. It was when Harold turned around and stared at me did I hurriedly pieced together my lines.
The girl looked up at me with tear-stained eyes. In aristocratic society, family rank is an absolute hierarchy. To go against that and point out the mismanagement of your superiors requires a great deal of determination,...., even more so if it is a lie.
But I shouldn’t think about it right now.The first thing I need to do is to deliver my lines as in the “Otohoshi” and free this young lady from her cruel magic.
When Harold and I expressed our negative opinion Ulysses through our eyes, Miss Ulysses seemed to think that her plan had worked. She smiled and stepped back.
I looked down at the young lady under the “Enchantment” spell and said.
“I will not do anything bad to you. I will take care of this. Is that all right with you, Miss Ulysses?”
“Of course it is,” said Ulysses. “Don’t blame her. It was Lady Elizabeth who gave the order, she just couldn’t disobey. ....”
Miss Ulysses told the story of her being harassed by Elizabeth in the same way as in “Otohoshi” in a very clear and concise manner. In the novel, such kindness melts the heart of the Crown Prince, who initially looked down on the lowly people and the heroine. ....
Oh, I’m about to get a face full of shit! Don’t call my Elizabeth lightly, Harold tell her. ....!
You’re a bit too brazen the moment you think you have the upper hand, Miss Ulysses!
You’re a bit stupid, which is helpful for us, but it makes me think all sorts of way to punish you.
“You’re being .... kind.”(Vincent)
That was another line from the novel. Then, a kind and a royal smile.
Mistress Ulysses smiled back at me without any fear.
“I have heard some unsavory rumors about Lady Elizabeth, Your Highness,.....”(Harold)
“What?”
I pretend to be surprised by Harold’s comment. This is the same line that the assistant tells the crown prince, who is beginning to be attracted to the protagonist, early in chapter 8 of the novel.
In the novel, the conversation takes place in an empty room in the royal palace, but it was better to give the impression to Miss Ulysses that the scenario is progressing steadily than to adhere to the scene.
In fact, Mistress Ulissea’s eyes were sparkling. She didn’t even look at the poor young lady she had brought to ..... The woman who was possessed by the “Enchantment” was accepting of being treated as a minor character, and she remained as still as breathless and downcast.
“Enchantment” is really a very good way of getting the attention of the people.
“Maybe, I would have never knew what true kindness is if you didn’t show up.... May I talk to you again?”
“Yes, with pleasure, Your Highness Vincent.”
I don’t permit name calling. And I know true kindness.
Harold had moved back behind Miss Ulysses, so she couldn’t see him, but he’s got that ‘No’ look on his face again. I’m scared, I’m scared, I’m scared.
“Thank you very much, Your Highness. Now, I will take my leave ....”
With a somewhat awkward bow of dismissal, Miss Ulysses turned on her heel to leave the classroom.
At that moment.
As if in anticipation, the door opened with a click.
It was Raphael who peeked in by poking his head through the opened door.
“Ulysses~~”
“Geez!”
A scream, not unlike that of the “Star Maiden,” gushed from Miss Ulysses’ mouth. Her face, which had been flushed with joy, turned pale at once.
It seems that she was so immersed in the relief of the scenario that she was unable to react quickly. However, Raphael did not care at all.
“I’ve been looking for you, beautiful. Now that I’ve gotten you, why don’t we go home together?”
“I’m so glad you took the trouble .... to look for me. ....”
I could read the confusion in her trembling voice, ‘You should have doing what I told you to, why are you here?’ something like this was clearly written on her face.
With her hand taken and the door opened, there was no way for her to say no. Miss Ulysses followed Raphael’s escort. Her hands were trembling.
“Then, have a nice day Your Highness. ....”(Ulysess)
“So, where are we going to go after this? Shall I take you back to my carriage or to ....?”
The door closed, and Raphael’s happy voice faded away down the corridor. The only reason no one could hear Miss Ulysses’ voice was that she was probably trying to figure out how to escape.
“........”(Vincent)
“........”(Harold)
“........”(Elizabeth’s friend)
No one said anything for a while after Raphael’s voice completely stopped being heard.
The silence fell, for a few seconds.
I and Harold were standing there with the still standing noble girl in front of us. What a feeling of being left behind!
Sighing, Harold was the first to make a move.
“I’m glad I prepared for something like this,” he said.
Harold suddenly took out a pillow.
It was a large, fluffy, clean, lace-trimmed white pillow filled with feathers.
“–What? Why a pillow?”
I mean, where did it come from?
“Thank you.”
In front of my stunned eyes, the young lady slowly walked forward and accepted the pillow.
