Chapter 123: Successful Escape Part 1

Damian remembered the sensation that he felt every time that he broke through, where impurities would be excreted from his body through his pores. It was similar to how he controlled the poison and removed it through his pores previously, and if he was able to replicate the process using his Internal Energy, he would be able to dispel the rest of the poison.

It was the only other alternative way he could think of, and also seemed highly possible, so Damian decided to attempt to remove the poison from his body using that process.

Focusing completely on his body, Damian could sense his energy paths, meridians and dantian and could also sense the poison that seemed to be attacking his nerves while corroding his body in the process.

Controlling his Internal Energy to where the poison was, Adam using it, pushed the poison out of his body and it took him another hour to do so. The process was extremely mentally straining and Damian's head felt as though it was squeezing his mind, but he powered through it without giving up.

If it was known that Damian had managed to dispel poison with a method that he came up with himself, everybody would be amazed, as not only was it a very difficult process that would usually take days, most would require assistance from another cultivator to do so.

He had already spent a lot of time out of the academy and it was already sunset. He had left at sunrise, so had spent most of the day in that alleyway and needed to get back before it was dark, as everyone knew that it was more dangerous when it was dark, especially in an area that he didn't know.

Damian still felt quite weak and sore all over, but he was sure that he would be able to move at quite fast speeds and would be able to fight if he needed to, but it was best if he didn't, otherwise, he would only increase to the backlash that his body had suffered.

Knowing that, Damian headed back to the academy at a speed that he could sustain without pushing himself too much, while training to take routes that were the safest and had the most people.

While Damian was running away from the assassin and fell into the alleyway, where he was poisoned and assumed to have died, the two other assassins rushed after their target.

Bernard carried Elizabeth in his arms and rushed towards the centre of the country at his full speed, in the hopes of entering the royal district, where the assassins were unlikely to follow and would be fought off by the royal family's guards.

Elizabeth had been on the verge of death so many times, and sometimes she just wanted her life to end as she felt as though she only caused others trouble and had never benefited anybody in her life.

Her existence itself was a target, and as the firstborn of the head of the powerful Graham Family, she was being eyed up by the young masters of many other powerful families.

But most of them were merely after her for her beauty and with the intention of taking over the Graham Family after her father died, as she couldn't take on the role of the head of the family, not only because she was female, but also because she hadn't cultivated.

Not only that, she had been targeted by many females who coveted her position and beauty and because she wasn't able to cultivate, she couldn't defend herself or fight back against those that were against her, so had to rely on others in order to do so.

She felt like a leech, and knew that if it wasn't for her loving father, that was unwilling to give up on his daughter, and her powerful family, she would have been killed, harassed and abused many times over.

Even her own family were beginning to hate her and see her as a waste of resources, after seeing how much her father would spend on medicine and doctors. Since birth, she had a very frail and weak body and had never been capable of much, and no matter what her father bought for his daughter, nothing had helped her.

Her father had bought doctors from all over the continent, but none were able to discover the reason for her weak condition, and if it wasn't because her father was protecting her and was the head of the family, she would have been thrown out or married off by her family.

Her constitution was so unusual that it was unheard of, and even a human with the lowest possible talent would be able to absorb and store a small amount of energy, while her body would completely reject all energy, including energy from medicine and treasures.

She hadn't awoken a Soul Spirit and the pillar that would measure her talent, didn't even react to her touch, which was an event that was unheard of and had never occurred before.

Most saw her as a lost cause, but her father and Bernard were still doing everything they could to help and protect her and that was only the reason that she hadn't given up on herself.

Seeing how hard others were fighting for her case, like Damian and all the guards that had died while protecting her, she didn't have the option of backing down, otherwise, their sacrifices would have meant nothing.

"We must get as close to the centre as possible, but it is inevitable that they will catch up to us and that boy is probably dead, so we can't leave any traces and need to find somewhere that we can hide," said Bernard who was out of breath and tired, but still pushing himself to run at his full speed while carrying Elizabeth.

The two assassins that had dealt with the guards, were dashing at their full speed in the direction they had seen Bernard carry Elizabeth in and were quickly catching up to them.
