96 Primrose
"Hey. Hey, wake up."
"ng.. five more minutes."
"Five more.. oh god this is dumb."
Vayne tried to move his body to a more comfortable position but frown when he felt his arms and legs restrained by something then suddenly, a forceful hit tilt his head to the side, making him snap his eyes open.
In front of him aren't the gentle face of Laiya, the person that has been accompanying him within the void for who knows how long now nor is it the usual white world he had gone used to. In front of him stood a short girl with long black hair tied into a low ponytail. Behind her googles, he could see her glaring at him but with her stature it just looks cute rather than menacing.
What interest him more however are the room he is in. instead of made out of brick or wood, the entire room be it the wall, floor, or ceilings, are all made out of metal. Even the thing lightening the room aren't a bluish flame from a magic lantern but an actual light bulb!
"Hey, focus!" the little thing snaps her fingers in front of him, pulling his attention to her.
"Where am I?" he asks her but his tone and frown clearly displeases her as she herself, frown.
"You are in my lab, now shut up and answer my questions. Do you feel any discomfort?" She said, taking a small crystalline object resembling a hammer yet also similar to a cross.
".. No, there are no discomfort whatsoever." Pushing his annoyance aside, he observes her more closely. Her outfit looks a lot like mechanics from earth if not for the two metallic box attached to both of her outer thighs and the faint magic diagrams carved on the lens of her googles.
He also noticed the faint stir of mana around the gizmo in her small hand and he doesn't know if he should consider it a threat or not.
"Good, then I can let you out now although I would advise otherwise. I need you to stay before your friend bring me the agreed payment." The moment she said that, the gizmo in her hand turn red and Vayne could feel whatever restraining him being lifted. Bad news is whatever that restrained him seem to be also keeping him suspended midair, resulting in him falling face first to the hard metal ground with a loud clank.
Wait, clank?
"The mirror is just behind the charging port you just got detached from." She said, as if she's used to this kind of situation. Walking away to the side where a few workbenches are placed with some half dismantled machineries on top of them.
Vayne tried to climb back to his feet but the moment he pushes himself off the ground, he actually sent himself flying off the ground and hit the ceiling before slamming back down.
"If you break anything I expect you to work on repaying it." She said dismissively, keeping her focus on her machines.
Getting up far slower and gently, he manages to stand up straight and proceed to do a few stretches to get used to his new strength. After he is used to it he made his way towards the mirror she mentioned.
He couldn't help but sigh when he finally sees himself. He already noticed and had some idea about it but seeing for himself that he no longer looks like a human are still somewhat saddening.
With his metallic body, arms, legs, as well as his featureless face, he looks just like some android in sci-fi movies. If he is grateful of anything it would be his smooth metallic black paint job and the fact his eyes glow a menacing red.
Wait no, he didn't really sigh since he has no mouth nor nose for the air to enter nor exit which make him want to sigh.
He was about to ask the little thing as to why is he like this when someone entered the workshop.
"Kat, I'm back with the thing you ask for. Is there any progress on him?" said a hooded figure as they walked in from the only automated door in the place, pausing in her step when they lift their face his way. they toss the small crystal prism in their hand to the little thing, who fumbles to catch it, and ran up to him and hug him.
"You are finally awake! I was so worried you'll never open your eyes again!" they said, their body felt like rock or plated armor against his chest and their strong hug almost convince him that they are a man if not for their feminine voice next to his ears which only serve to confuse him since their face are covered with their helmet mask.
He tried pushing her away but their hold on him are stronger than even the strength of his new body. It seems they got the cue as they put some distance between them although they didn't let go.
"I'm sorry but who the fuck are you? Also what do you mean that I'll never wake up?" he knows he is being extremely rude to someone that might be able to crush hit at any moment but right now he couldn't care less about such things as he too are able to extract her at the slightest hint of hostility.
The hooded figure laughs at his question before letting him go and scratch the side of their head, "Ahaha of course you won't remember. Your memory module are a bit busted up along with few others after that attack."
Pressing something at the side of her head, the helmet retracts into what look like a tactical headset in her ear. She smiles warmly at me and somehow there are glint of longing in her eyes.
"I guess we are starting from scratch again, I am Primrose, call me Prim. It is nice to make your acquaintance."
