2 Chapter Two: Full Throttle to Revenge
I blink several times. She wasn't supposed to be real.
Thinking back to what I remembered from the dream, I looked at my arms. They're still here...
A sigh of relief escapes me, and I look back at the nameless woman who's home I'm currently occupying.
"Who are you?"
"I am Emiya Sho. I was searching for someone, and that creature was supposed to tell me where he was. Who are you?"
I stare at Emiya with awe. Her hair is a crimson red, her eyes a golden yellow. Then, as if my life was some sort of anime, I noticed the blood red ears sitting atop her head. On instinct my hands draw toward them, but before I can reach, she smacks my hand away.
"Sorry. I'm Daichi Akemi. I happened to hear your scream, and after that..."
Stopping myself from speaking, I think back to yesterday. Apart of me isn't too sure about how much of yesterday is real.
"A demon tore off your arm, and broke your legs," she finished. I look up at her, bewildered. This couldn't be real, there's just no way. "What you remember is very much real, I can assure you yesterday was no dream."
"Wait, if that was real, then how are my arms still here? How are my legs not broken?!"
Emiya smirks at me, as if she was anticipating these questions.
"If it was not real, how are you standing before someone with crimson wolf ears?"
"Those can be faked," I tell her with indignation. This cannot be real. Demons, gods, none of it. The only thing that is real is that things that live also die.
"I can assure you my ears are very real."
Without anything more to say she walks away from me, and out of the room.
Gingerly, I exit the bed and follow behind her. I'm walking normally, so clearly what she said is just some sick joke. Soon, however, I follow her into another room, and see a distraught Kana on the floor in tears.
My mind is instantly flooded with dread. Something is wrong, and Dan is not here comforting her. I've never known the twins to be separated longer than their school classes would have them apart.
"Kana..." I whisper.
She throws herself at me, tears soaking my chest.
"It killed him!"
An unknown rage over takes me as the weight of Kana's words hits me. I don't know why they would do something so terrible, but I would make sure that thing dies.
Before I can ask any questions, a knock on the door captures our attention.
"Pardon me, milady, may I have a word."
I turn, and what I see is enough to temporarily stun me out of my rage.
Her butler is a panda..?
They stepped outside the room, and as they leave I look down at my destroyed friend. She had fallen asleep, her face still streaked with her tears.
Stepping outside of the room, I see the panda talking to Emiya in a hushed tone, yet somehow I can still make out parts of their conversation.
"The demons seem to be gathering in the west district, just south of Westchester Avenue. There's quite a few of them, but I'm sure they will know."
Without waiting to hear anymore I run to the opposite side of the house, my feet as light as I can possibly make them.
It's time to go kill some demons.
