Like before, on the way to the mission building, Su Jun and Duan Xi got stared by all the disciples that they passed and like before not one of them approached them. They walked into the one-storey high mission building and Su Jun turned his head, looking around.

The room was spacious. The middle of the room was empty but near the left, right and front walls stood three counters. Behind each one of these three counters stood ten elders ranging from thirty years old to ninety years old. In the building there were twenty-nine disciples, so only one counter was unoccupied.

"Let's go to that unoccupied counter," Duan Xi said with her usual indifferent expression. Su Jun nodded and they walked up to the counter at which stood an old man with closed eyes.

Su Jun moved his eyes above the old man's head.

'This elder is weaker than Duan Xi?' Su Jun widened his eyes in surprise.

Cui Ni opened his eyes and moved them first to Su Jun and then to Duan Xi. His eyes widened in shock, 'What a beautiful girl!' He smiled widely and a lustful glint flashed through his eyes, "Will you take a mission or will you exchange your contribution points?" he said while looking at her and letting his thoughts go wild. Duan Xi glanced at Su Jun.

"We will take a mission," Su Jun said.

Cui Ni frowned and moved his eyes to Su Jun, 'She will be mine you little punk!' "What kind of mission would you like? Magical beast core gathering mission or ingredient gathering mission?"

Su Jun tilted his head in confusion, "There are only two types?"

Duan Xi turned her head to Su Jun, "Once you enter the main sect there will be more types of missions for you to choose from."

Cui Ni looked at Duan Xi in shock, "That is right but how did you know?"

Duan Xi turned her head to Cui Ni, "I am from the inner sect, elder."

Cui Ni directed his Qi into his eyes. His face paled and all his thoughts about Duan Xi vanished into thin air. 'I can't believe I almost killed myself! I have to inspect the cultivation bases before I select my targets!' He looked at Su Jun, "What kind of mission do you want?"

"Which ones give more contribution points?" Su Jun said.

"Beast core gathering missions give the most points," Cui Ni said.

Su Jun nodded, "I will take the magical beast core gathering mission then."

Cui Ni nodded, "There are two beast core gathering missions. Magical boar core gathering or magical wolf core gathering. Magical boar core gathering rewards one contribution point per core and magical wolf core gathering rewards two contribution points per core. Magical boars are rank 1 early stage magical beasts and magical wolves are rank 1 middle stage magical beasts."

Su Jun tilted his head in confusion, "What is a rank 1 early stage magical beast and what is a rank 1 middle stage magical beast."

Duan Xi looked at Su Jun, "Early stage refers to ranks from one to three, middle stage refers to ranks from four to six and late stage refers to ranks from seven to nine. But don't assume that if the magical beast is of the same rank as the cultivator they are equally strong. If both cultivator and magical beast have same cultivation level and if cultivator isn't trained in any, body strengthening techniques and if cultivator's cultivation method doesn't increase strength, speed, endurance and vitality and if cultivator doesn't use any offensive skills then the magical beast will be superior in all cases. As for the rank, rank 1 refers to martial mortal, rank 2 refers to martial core and so on."

Su Jun turned his head to Duan Xi and nodded in understanding, "I see." He moved his head back to the elder, "I will take magical wolf beast core gathering mission."

'Su Jun is as strong as a rank 5 martial mortal and if he uses whirling dragon punch and white tiger's palm, he shouldn't have any problem killing any of the middle stage magical wolves.' Duan Xi thought.

Cui Ni nodded, "Very well. The bare minimum is ten cores. Your names?" Cui Ni pulled out a log book and opened it,

"Su Jun," Su Jun said.

"Duan Xi," Duan Xi said.

Cui Ni shivered and cold sweat poured down his back. He wrote down Su Jun's and Duan Xi's names in the log book and pulled out a map which he placed on the counter, "The magical wolves are in the marked zone. You have to come back in a month or you two will be counted as deserters."

Su Jun took the map from the table and hid it inside his clothes, turned around and walked away with Duan Xi. Cui Ni looked down at the table, 'Calamity almost befell on me.. maybe it's a sign saying me to stop?... Or not.. I just need to inspect cultivation's and wait after I get their names before deciding on my targets.' A wicked grin appeared on Cui Ni's face.

Su Jun and Duan Xi walked out of the building and stopped, "How do we leave the sect?" Su Jun said.

"First we need to decide which exit to take, where are those wolves in what direction?" Duan Xi said.

Su Jun pulled out the map from his clothes, "East."

Duan Xi nodded, "Let's go to the east exit then." Su Jun nodded and hid the map back inside his clothes. She led him to the east exit which was a bridge that led downwards. By the bridge stood a middle-aged man with elder clothes. The two walked up to him and Su Jun looked above the man's head.

Bao Han looked at the two of them and said with a cold expression on his face, "Show me your pass."

Su Jun tilted his head in confusion, "Pass?"

"He means the map," Duan Xi said.

Su Jun nodded. He once again pulled out the map and extended it towards Bao Hao. He looked at the map and nodded, "You can pass."

Su Jun once again hid the map inside his clothes and together with Duan Xi walked onto the bridge descending down from the sect. Looking around he realised that the outer sect was a few hundred meters above the ground and his eyes widened in surprise, 'The sect is actually above the ground.'

"Don't be surprised, the inner sect is even higher. It's more than twenty kilometres in the sky and above all the clouds," Duan Xi said, seeing Su Jun's surprise.

Su Jun eyes widened even more, "Really? That's amazing!"

Duan Xi raised the corners of her lips forming a slight smile, "Yeah..I guess it is." They descended down onto the ground after half an hour, "Where do we go?" she said.

Su Jun pulled out the map and pointed in a direction, "It's there. If we walk the same speed as we descended the mountain in, it will take us thirty minutes to reach."

Duan Xi nodded, "That's not surprising."

"How so?"

"Outer sect missions all take place only around the sect while inner sect missions can take you hundreds of kilometres away from the sect."

Su Jun nodded in understanding, "I see."

"We have about five to six hours before it gets dark, let's get this done before that," Duan Xi said.

Su Jun nodded, "Alright," he said and they walked in the direction he pointed in. Not even ten minutes later, they stopped as not too far away they saw a seventeen-year-old youth and a small wolf cub facing each other.

The silver wolf cub had silver fur, orange eyes and was slightly larger than a normal wolf cub.

Cao Ru had blonde hair, blue eyes and held a sword in his hand.

'Should I help him? Or is he fine on his own?' As this thought went through Su Jun's head, the silver wolf cub growled and jumped at Cao Ru. He fell down to the ground, "Get off me you damn beast!"

'If I don't help him that cub will kill him!' Su Jun activated swift crane movement skill and moved.

Duan Xi's eyes widened in shock, 'That's the cub of a silver wolf! Rank 3, early stage magical beast! What is it doing here?! I can't let Su Jun kill it!'
