25 The Four Statues
As soon as Dwarfs appeared, they immediately lined up row after row like soldiers. Their eyes were serious as they looked at the people around them, before they inspected the city as their eyes shined.
"This is wonderful!" cried a Dwarf happily as he looked at the city structure
"Yes it is, the buildings look much better than on those crappy planets we visited before, where a building was nothing better than a tent where those savages were living in." said another Dwarf with sparkly eyes
"Sir Pulse, we are ready to rebuild this city. First, we'll destroy everything that's unnecessary and we'll rebuild it all in just a few hours! If your men have any special designs in their minds, please tell my man and they'll build everything according to your wishes!"
The Dwarf who looked to be like their leader with a bigger stature that reached 1.50M spoke to Pulse very respectuously. It seems like it's not the first time they are tasked to rebuild a city, but to rebuild one as modern as the ones on Earth intrigued them so they couldn't wait to start and learn more about this planet's buildings and expand their boundaries!
Knowing their intentions, Pulse laughed before he waved his hands at the men behind him.
"Let a few of you come with me, i'll need you to build my Potion Shop. Oh, right, humans! If you need potions, just come over to my shop! With enough money, you can even revive a man at death's door as long as you can afford it!" the man with the pointed ears spoke to the humans with arrogance as if nothing beneath the heaven's could beat his potions
"If you guys need weapons, find my shop! I have everything you need, from swords, daggers, hammers to bows and crossbows and much more!"
"If you need armor..."
"If you need ammunition and technological weapons..."
"If you need skill books..."
"If you need amulets..."
One after the other, the Dimensional Merchants scattered across the city each followed by a couple of Dwarfs, not forgetting to advertise their shops which left the humans with a wry smile on their face.
'They left? Just like that..?'
"Okay, Pulse, young man, i am departing as well. If i wait any longer those scumbags are gonna take all the best places in the city from me! If that happens, i will have to settle outside the city again, hmph! Young man, if you ever want to sell that Baby Kikiyaon or you want to buy other beasts or slaves, you can find me! Of course, i will also buy beasts of a good rarity if you can capture, i'll pay a hefty price!" with these words, Butcher turned around before he started running in another direction, hastily pulling the chains with the slaves with him to find a good place to settle his shop
Looking at Butcher, Pulse burst into laughter as he remembered their last planet where Butcher was left with his shop on the outskirts of the city, being attacked daily by savages and beasts. Because he was so angry and brutal in his killings, nobody shoped at his place which ruined his tradings.
After he was done laughing, Pulse turned once more to look at Wang Tao and the people around who were still waiting afraid to move.
"Don't be so afraid. We are here to help you, not to harm you. Of course, if you decide to attack us and steal from us, don't blame us for not going easy on you. Actually, we are doing a great favor to all of you. We are actually here as merchants in a foreign planet which is gonna turn into a massive warzone soon. We are just like you, in danger! So let's all work together and not think of anything else other than you sell, we buy, you buy, we sell, a merchant – customer business where both sides go home happily." said Pulse in a flat tone to the people around as they listened attentively, making him nod his head in appreciation.
At least this planet is civilized and the people understand his words, on the last planet he visited it was basically a planet full of savage people with no brains. The moment they saw their stuff, they greedily wanted to steal them and in turn, the merchants killed everyone that had any thoughts regarding their wares.
'Good, these people are smart. Time to make money money money!' screamed Pulse happily in his heart, his eyes sweeping over all these piggy banks
"I'm the last one that hasn't introduced his shop so far. First, let me ask you a question. You see those 4 Statues over there?" asked Pulse as he calmed himself down
Hearing his question, the people nodded. The statues were just too impressive, even though they were just a few streets away from the place they were in, they were so grand and majestic that everyone could only look at them with sparkling eyes.
"Are they to help us get a specialized combat class?" asked Wang Tao out of a sudden, which startled Pulse, his eyes throwing an appreciative glance at him
'This brat has already figured it out...hmm, looking at all these people, looks like most of them already thought about that. Interesting' thought Pulse in his heart as the corners of his mouth lifted up
"It is so. These statues are a gift bestowed by the Gods. Let me teach you about the four statues.
The first statue resembles the God of War, Ares. That's where you will take the trial that lets you learn a specialized melee combat class.
The second statue is the Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis. That's where you will take the trial for learning to be an archer!
The third statue is the God of Magic, Hermes! That's where the ones gifted with spiritual power can take the trial and learn magic.
The fourth statue is the God of Blacksmiths, Hephaestus . Anyone that does not want to be a fighter and wants to learn how to be a craftsman to create weapons, armor, carpentry and learn how to build, this is your best choice.
Even though my words are not gonna be pleasant to your ears, we, as Dimensional Merchants, won't protect anybody. If you want to survive in this world, everything depends on you! Also, we are not allowed to stay for a very long period of time, we are here because of a promise to a person that we're going to assist humanity for two years! Only two years!
If in two years the humanity won't gain any powerful fighters and blacksmiths, helping you to fight against the invasion of your Planet, you will all die!
This is just a tip from me, but take it to heart. Anything we sell, the price is gonna be ten times more expensive than what you could, yourself, create. If humanity refuses to learn and depend on us, you're not worthy of being his descendants!"
The last sentence of Pulse was filled with immense killing intent as he looked at the gathered people who were excited hearing his explanation of the statues. His change in demenoar startled the people, not knowing what they did wrong. But only Pulse, himself knew.
Others might not know the mystery surrounding that man. But he did. It was two thousand years ago when he last visited this planet as a Dimensional Merchant. This world was still in the Medieval Age when it was first struck by the Dimensional Wars and the humanity finally rose to such extreme heights that in the universe, they could be called one of the greatest races that existed!
But after two thousand years, when he returned, he was greeted by a bunch of kids who knew nothing about the Dimensional Wars, Dimensional Merchants, the Four Great Gods that the statues resembled, nothing!
It's like everything became a legend, the truth hidden in history. Of course, he wouldn't say that out loud, he has already given enough information. He would rather see this race die than to see them humiliating that person and his companions who fought against the greatest people of the universe.
If it wasn't for the promise, he wouldn't even have come to this planet to see the downfall of one of the greatest races that succumbed into such pathetic state, having to rely on a System created by that Great Person to be able to gain spiritual power!
He could sense it, none of these people had any real spiritual power in their bodies! The world was dry, there's nothing left of that great planet from the past. Everything turned into a wastelend full of wastes.
With every thought, Pulse was getting angrier and angrier, before finally humphinh loudly and said "If you want to take the trials, you have to pay 5 Energy Stones to me! I will meet you under the Statues!"
With those words said, the man disappeared in an instant from the place, leaving a confused bunch of people behind. None of them understood, how did they offend this person to send of such a big killing intent on them?
Damn, some of them almost peed their pants!
"What should we do, Wang Tao?" asked Ying Yue and old man Zhang in a whisper behind him
"You two, you should take the trials. Choose the class you want and do your best! Here are some Energy Stones, we have to get stronger! His killing intent was weird, but something must be going on. Getting stronger is a must, we can't delay it any longer!"
As soon as his words left his mouth, Wang Tao started walking towards the statues followed by Ying Yue and old man Zhang along with Kiki and Fire.
The others who knew what Energy Stones are immediately followed them from behind, a small group of people quickly forming around the trio.
"What should we do now?" asked one person that was left behind
"F**k should i know! I wish i could take any of those trials, but i don't have any of those damnable Energy Stones! If i knew it, i would've fought more Goblins to get them!" cursed one man under his breath, clearly annoyed.
He was just an unimoportant small fry who was afraid to fight, now, even in the face of an opportunity, he could do nothing.
"Let's just go and notify the people underground, they must be going crazy already. We've been gone for too long." said another man
"Yeah, let's go! Before we come, i want to play with that girl that kept winking at me that time..."
"Ooo, boss, let me join as well!"
"Sure, hehehe"
The other group of people split up as they went back to notify the people underground of the current situation.
With the increasing danger day by day, the people felt a strong need to get stronger. Some others have already formed small groups, thinking of going on the outskirts of the city to find Monsters and Beasts to kill and farm Energy Stones to take the trials...they had to get stronger. Otherwise, they'll die!
Having such thoughts, the people immediately left the city, aiming to get stronger. Soon, the sounds of fighting began and the cries of beast and man resounded in the gloomy day.
