I Shall Tame the Heavens!

26 Wang Taos Class

"This is incredible!" exclaimed Ying Yue

"Yes, it is. It's definitely a masterpiece by an incredible talented sculptor. The texture, the quality and even the smallest details were captured perfectly. The one who sculpted this must be a genius!" said old man Zhang in appreciation as he looked at the four statues

"It is..but do you feel it?" asked Wang Tao

"Feel what?"

"The aura of a greater being."

As he looked at the statues, Wang Tao was just as surprised as Ying Yue and old man Zhang. Looking at the others, he saw that the others, including the people that followed behind him were not affected at all in the presence of the statues.

For a moment, he even thought that he's thinking too much, but the closer he was to the statues, the feeling of oppression that wafted upon was getting stronger and stronger, as cold sweat started dripping down his forehead like a waterfall.

"You should stay away, young man."

From the distance, Pulse looked solemnly at Wang Tao. Seeing the state Wang Tao was in, Pulse was surprised but a feeling of disappointment has risen inside his heart that gave him a bitter taste in his mouth.

"Is there something wrong with me?" asked Wang Tao panting heavily, but he couldn't help but feel disappointed

All he wanted was to check the statues closer, but now he wasn't even allowed to get close? What a disappointment, he thought!

"Young man, these four statues are the inheritance of the Four Great Gods who have risen in power thousands of years ago. Each of the Four Great Gods was a mighty figure of his time, dominating the Dimensional Battlefields as they fought for humanity until they reached the peak of their power, but no one is an immortal. At the end of their lifespan, the Four Great Gods left these four statues imbued with their own powers to let the future generations inherit their strengths." explained Pulse kindly to the people gathered before him

Hearing his words, the people were shocked as everything they heard fell onto the SCI-FI, Fantasy and Supernatural realm. Gods? Gods actually existed in the past? Then why has nobody heard of anything like this before? You have to know, there were a lot of religions, each that followed a different God. There were hundreds of them! Could it also be..?

Seeing the shocked gazes of the crowd, Pulse sighed inwardly as he knew what they were thinking.

"The Four Great Gods did exist. And its not only them, when i last visited this world in the past, there were thousands of different grand figures that appeared at that time as they fought against invaders for survival. The four statues are a legacy left by these Four Great Gods for humanity to survive and thrive."

Contemplating for a moment, Wang Tao asked "Does that mean that there are other Legacies out there in the world that people can learn?"

"You're smart." praised Pulse before continuing "Yes, there are. You, yourself are an example of that."

"Me? How is it possible?" asked Wang Tao shocked at Pulse's statement

"it's the class you have. Check your system again." answered Pulse nonchalantly

"Beast Tamer..but what does that have to do with a legacy?"

"Are you dumb? Your class is an inheritance of the powers of a god. The strongest gods have left an inheritance for future generations each with a varying degree of power. Perhaps because the Gods foresaw the future of humanity where Spiritual Power was becoming lesser and lesser until it scattered apart and nothing was left on Earth, they left the inheritances through the System that humanity received from your last God. That's why each inheritance is different, where there are Light Mages, Elemental Mages, Swordmasters, Beast Tamers, Archers, Dark Mages and so on." having to explain so much to these people, Pulse was starting to get irritated

Having lived for such a long time, Pulse was really regretful of what the humanity has become. A world without spiritual power basically crippled the whole future of the it's residents, turning them into weaklings that had to walk the path of technology to survive losing all contact with nature and the spiritual world.

The people were now truly shocked out of their minds. Their started muttering to themselves in disbelief, trying to comprehend each piece of information that they received. Honestly, this was totally freaking them out. Just a few days ago they were living a normal life and then everything changed with the apparition of the gates.

Now, not only disaster struck Earth as it changed everything that the former world was, these Dimensional Merchants that were people from another world even told them that humanity truly had Gods and this system they received was a gift from their last God? Then what has happened to their last God, thought they to themselves in their hearts.

A person from the crowd, who couldn't hold it inside him anymore immediately asked.

"Then what happened with our last God? Why isn't he here to protect us?"

Hearing the question, Pulse's eyebrows twitched for a moment as he shot an icy glance to the crowd.

"That's none of your business! Grow stronger if you want to learn more, i said everything i had to say to you according to my contract with the Gods. Now stop wasting my time, if you want to take the test for inheritance you have to pay me 5 Energy Stones! If you are here to waste my time..hehe" as his last words fell, Pulse's hand immediately fell on one of his daggers scaring the crap out of the people

In one second, the whole crowd was bustling with activity trying to be the first to present their Energy Stones to try for a trial, making Pulse's eyes smile in happiness.

'Here comes money!'

—————————

After Wang Tao and his group retreated a few meters away from the statues, he could finally sigh 'a breath of relief as the oppressive aura was gone.

"Have you guys decided which inheritance class you want to get?" asked Wang Tao

"Mhm, i'll go the route of an Archer. We will need a long range attacker in our group and even though technological weapons are good, we won't have access to superior weapons so easily." said Ying Yue after contemplating for a moment

"I'll be a Swordmaster, preferably a dual sword wielder. After i saw the strength of that Hobgoblin as it wielded two swords, the teenager inside of me that wanted to grow and follow into the footsteps of a Swordmaster." said old man Zhang with a chuckle making the others laugh as well

"If that's your choice, here are ten Energy Stones. Go take your tests and we'll meet outside." said Wang Tao with a smile

With a swipe of his hand, the energy stones appeared in his hand before he handed each five respectively.

After bidding farewell to Wang Tao, the both of them approached Pulse before handing over the Energy Stones. Immediately, Wang Tao could see all the people that has handed the energy stones to Pulse get sucked inside the Statues, freezing him on the spot.

'Damnable me.... even that happens these days?' thought Wang Tao in his heart as he had a wry smile on his face

It seems like he still has a long way to go before he can adapt to such things..

Seeing the people gone to take the inheritance tests, Pulse had a wide grin on his face as he satisfiedly weighed the bag full of energy stones in his hand. As he lifted his gaze, he saw Wang Tao looking at him before he coughed lightly returning to his normal poker face before he approached Wang Tao.

"Do you want to know why only you felt such an oppressive power coming from the four statues?"

Hearing the question, Wang Tao was surprised for a moment before he nodded his head. Why wouldn't he want to know more about it? Every bit of information about this new world was incredibly precious! If he could, he would even listen to Pulse rant the whole day long..

"Sigh. It's because your powers come from a fallen Elven Race God."

The words 'Elven Race God' startled Wang Tao. There even existed Elves now?

"Is it bad or a good thing?" asked Wang Tao curiously

"It's a good thing if you think it's good, it's a bad thing if you think it's bad. Your inheritance can be considered to be a unique inheritance, which require different steps to succeed getting. In the past, when you got it, you have probably done something that triggered the Inheritance Trial successfully completing it, thus receiving the inheritance of that God."

Pulse's words puzzled Wang Tao. Didn't he only kill that damned bug? Was it so easy to get an inheritance?

"All i did was kill a bug. How can that even be a trial?" said Wang Tao in confusion

"I don't know if you're dumb or just stiff. How can it be so easy to get a Unique Inheritance? You have probably completed the other steps before that, where killing that bug was the last step to get it, thus receiving the Inheritance." annoyedly answered Pulse, looking at Wang Tao as he was the dumbest person in the world

Even easy things like this were so hard for him to understand?

Ignoring Pulse's weird look, Wang Tao thought for a moment about the things he did before he killed the Mind Controlling Bug. Thinking about it for a while, he finally received his answer. The unique inheritance trial should have probably started before the Gates even appeared, when the animals started to faint and be controlled by these bugs.

After that, with his love and devotion, he volunteered to a Pet Hospital to save even more animals which expressed his love for nature. Then, when he willingly risked his own life to try and save his best friend at the cost of his life to killing the mind controlling bug.

Thinking about all this, Wang Tao finally found the answer. So it's because of his love and loyalty to animals that he received an Elven God's Inheritance.

Humans and Elves in the legends of humanity are like water and fire. Even though the differences between humans and elves are not big, their way of living is. Elves are the protectors of nature and are a peaceful race, but humans are just the other side of the coin, a warring race that grows upon millions of bodies.

That's why Pulse found it weird that a human could actually get his hands on such an inheritance. Normally, elves are prideful and arrogant beings, which clearly shows on the way they view the other races as inferior.

After reaching this conclusion he was finally enlightened.

"So it's because we are enemies." said Wang Tao as he looked straight at him

"Yes, you are. And don't worry, you will have plenty of occasions to fight against them in the future."

"You say.."

"I told you, this world is already a battlefield. This is an invasion by the other races in an attempt to conquer Earth and get their hands on the last God's inheritance. You, humans, will have to work hard."
