24 Ch. 24 - The Outsiders
Magi Class 57 Classroom
"I wonder what's taking the assessment so long?" said Violet Mercy worriedly.
"Worried about your little hubby?" sneered Bruce Presley, causing Violet to blush and glare at him while looking wronged. Bruce instantly felt like a villain, "Hey, hey, I'm sure he's fine right?"
"I am not worried about Casino!" pouted Violet. Bruce felt a slightly chilly breeze as she reached down toward the wand on her waist.
"Woah, woah, wait a minute now! I get it okay! NO need for violence," reminded Bruce Presley as if he was doing Violet a favor. "Sniff..Sniff..hey what's cook..AH!"
Bruce jumped up and ran around like an idiot with fire on his butt. He rolled around on the ground repeated until some cast a Water Ball spell at him. The water ball didn't extinguish the fire so that student begin chanting and magic circle formed above Bruce's body, and then a waterfall completely drenched him.
"Do not forget who else you disrespect when you harass my people," Jim Mercury wore his black light armor as he slowly stepped pass the fatty bruce, approaching Violet Mercy. Violet frowned after he referred to her as merely 'his people'. Ever since Casino showed up she had noticed a shift in her once sweet boyfriend. He was meaner, and more aggressive. He didn't dote on her today at all. Once Jim was directly in front of her face, towering over her, she refused to meet those eyes that weren't looking at her like she was his sky anymore. Jim was discontent as he sneered, "You truly worry for this brat?"
"I worry only for my sister, Jimmy! It's been so long already!" shouted Violet Mercy in indignation, finally looking at Jim. Tears were beginning to swim in her eyes. "Why are you treating me like this?
"Hmph." Jim Mercury didn't buy it for a second. In his mind, this bitch hadn't looked him in his eyes, or called him daddy, or let him take any advantage since the moment she laid eyes on that twerp. Jim thought he had a firm hold on the heart of this girl, but he saw her waver as soon as her fiancé showed up. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea too rely so heavily on the intel that his talent would never make it here. Now that he had, all his careful planning had gone to shit! Jim wore a disdainful face as he swore in his mind, "Looks like I'll have to kill that brat next time he leaves campus."
Jim Mercury pulled out his communication device that looked like a mystical palm pilot, and he contacted someone in private.
"Look, the enchantment is disabling!" said Craig Crack to his friends. Him and the rest of the class quickly gathered around as Magus Hemingway and the seven new students were revealed from behind the previous opaque barrier enchantment.
"Welcome to magic!" all of the students happily cheered together, startling the seven new students who looked as if they had just been through an ordeal into smiling and relaxing their tense nerves. All of which, except the last seat in the class Kenneth Royale who looked especially gloomy.
After all, Casino's talent had broken the Mysticism Revealed Pot before Kenneth had a chance to display his talent!
Somebody was not only making a move on the girl he liked, but even twice had stolen his spotlight. This was something Kenneth found downright unacceptable.
Brazen!
Detestable!
This cool was destined to be his grand stage! Now some upstart wanted to come steal the lead role?
He wouldn't stand for it.
"Okay class. Now it's time for break! Once we're all back together, let us begin with the review of rank 1 magic!"
"Yes, honored magus!"

"My god! So long!" Capital Blacc was stretching his body, as he walked next to Casino Riot towards the AP Dorms, and complained about school. However, Casino could tell that his best friend was in a very good mood, "It's got to be a crime to keep us in school from six in the morning until six at night. First we work out all morning, then high intensity studying, memorizing, experimenting, sheesh! And immediately after that we have to work out again! This is just a boot camp!"
"It wasn't so bad right? It's better than those regular degular classes we've been in until now," replied Casino Riot indifferently, "Yeah, big fun. So much to do. I learned so much today. I even qualified to register a wand."
"Yeah, that's pretty cool." Capital's eyes sparkled, "I learned about wands today too. I never knew that Magi condensed mana into the wand while cultivating. This not only nurtures the wand, but it also works as a storage space for mana!"
"What happened during your test, Capp?" asked Casino casually, but he noticed that Capital stiffened.
"Uh..it sure is a nice day in the neighborhood, a wonder full day in the neighborhood," Capital shamelessly changed the subject in a more than obvious manner. Casino frowned, and then looked amused.
"It seems like you guys had to take an oath too? Who triggered it, you?" asked Casino sagely.
Capital's eyes flashed, as he considered his words, "Well no. Theres a freak in my class. However, who would've imagined that I would turn out to also be a big freak, ahh."
"Oh yeah?" Casino pondered on his word play and then asked a question, "If you had to say who was the new student in the class who caught your eyes the most, who would it be?"
"Samantha Heru!" Capital Blacc didn't hesitate at all once he saw an opening, "The chick's a freak, she's even scarier than you."
"Heru?" Casino Riot was caught by surprise, "She's from the Divine Sun Family? Who would dare to name their daughter after the family legend?"
"Who indeed," said Capital Blacc sagely, "Is there even a need to wonder? Once you've laid eyes on her you'll quickly understand."
Capital and Casino continued to chat about girls, magic, class, and mischief. Before long they were standing the courtyard of a tall and brawny young man meditating with a deep grimace on his face. There were traces of baleful ki in the atmosphere, making Capital cautious and Casino marvel.
"Hey Bravo, is that the Great Perfection stage of the Baleful Fang?" asked Casino Riot while crouching directly next to the mediating Bravo Frenzy. He knew that Bravo practiced the combat art called Berserker King Heaven Art, that he had received from Amenophis. This art had seven styles, and the first was called the Baleful Fang! This was why he was able to identify it at a glance.
"Indeed," harrumphed Bravo as he exhaled a baleful air. He opened his eyes, and was not at all shocked to see these two here. "Come to brag about your test results to this young lord?"
"Something like that," Capital walked over and sat down in front of Bravo, handing him a bottle of origin pop that he had brought over. This alternative to soda was carbonated by origin forces and flavored by spirit fruits. Bravo took it graciously and immediate downed half of the 20 ounce bottle.
Energy!
Flavor!
Bravo suddenly burped and it felt great, "Ahh, nothing like a refreshing bottle of origin pop after a cultivation session. Hey Capp I'm..well. I'm sorry, man."
As Bravo didn't attend Magi class he had a lot more time to himself than the others. He had already calmed down a lot, and even felt bad about their fight. He knew he had some arrogant bias that were trained into himself since birth! He needed to reflect deeply and eliminate that negative mentality.
Bravo glanced at Casino who wasn't even paying any attention to them, he was playing with a broken little cauldron in his hand. Noticing Bravo's gaze via his perceptive force, Casino waved it off without looking.
Bravo realized no words needed to be said between him and Lucky. They had already spoken with their fists. They understood the other well enough.
"Why did you choose to forego the Magi class, Bravo?" asked Capital. Bravo was actually just as talented as himself, and even tougher in build. If he had magic as well, how fierce would that be?
"Do I look like a wand wielding weirdo to you?" snorted Bravo Frenzy to the two aspiring wand wielding weirdos, "I'm not like Mags. My dad has been training me to take over the family since I was a little cub. I know a great many things about magi and even more things about mystics and the fey."
"Mystics and the fey!" exclaimed Casino Riot suddenly, which startled both Capital and Bravo. They felt that outbursts from Lucky were quite rare. Casino didn't mind them and came way too close for Bravo's comfort, "Quickly, tell this young master what you know about mystics and the fey?"
"Piss off, Riot!" Bravo mushed Casino away from his face, which was so close they could of kissed. This was also why Bravo was pissed. Who wants to kiss a man? Not him. He stood up and held his chest out while speaking valiantly, "Listen, its not that I don't want to tell you guys. Merely, I can't until I can use my own name. I took an oath."
"Didn't you already tell us your real name? Yeah, you've used it with us. So then the oath shouldn't effect us right?" asked Casino nonchalant.
"You..that..well," Bravo Frenzy had to admit that Casino's words had a logic to them. He had indeed used his name the other day. According to his oath, there was truly no longer a problem in telling them. Was his heavenly oath so flimsy this whole time?
Of course he had taken this oath as a three year old. They even went so far as to scare him by making a servant submit himself to the heavenly lightning penalty. Bravo could never forget watching the heaven's smite that man. He never dared to speak the things he should not speak of ever since that day.
"Argh, If I die I'm dragging you down to hell with me!" roared Bravo Frenzy.
"Deal!" replied Casino and Capital in unison.
"Come on, let's go inside my dorm," Bravo led his friends into the upper floor of his town house where a bathroom, a bedroom, and cultivation room were located. After entering the cultivation room and activating the room's formation to seal the entrance, he continued speaking, "These cultivation rooms have sound barriers put in place, it's safer to talk. Many human's have evolved into fey, you know that much right?"
"Right!" replied the other two.
"Well what you might not know, is before we begin evolving into Fey, human's were briefly known as the mightiest race in the universe!" said Bravo full of human pride, "There was once a human who studied Devouring Power. He devoured members of the elite races to improve his own life form! After becoming the ultimate life form, he led the human race to prosperity! This man was known as the Draconic Original Mystic Pharaoh."
"The Draconic Original Mystic Pharaoh!" Casino Riot felt like a light had exploded in his brain as many thoughts manifested.
"Correct!" Bravo had reverence and worship in his eyes. "The Progenitor of the Magi Age! He was said to have come from out of no where, thoroughly changing the course of history and sharing with mankind a billion year old heritage that was lost in the dark ages of millions of years ago!"
Lost millions of years ago!
A billion year old heritage!
What kind of concept was that?
"The elders of my Family once told me that this world is not the real world," Bravo Frenzy casually mentioned something that turned his friends world upside down, before he noticed their dumbstruck expressions. He shrugged and scratched his nose in embarrassment, "He said that the only way for me to see the real world is to surpass every Frenzy in the Main Family Household in Acadia, winning a top ten ranking position in the Avarian Wonder Fight Festival, and consequently being excepted into the Plutonian Institute or another Worldly Institute."
"I've heard of the Avarian Wonder Fight Festival!" exclaimed Capital Blacc, "That's the festival for higher level Magi to compete against each other for a chance at winning marvelous prizes! It's even broadcasted every 10 years when it arrives.
"Last year's Festival was badass," Capital nudged Casino with his elbow, "Bravo and I watched it live broadcast, and then again on a mystic image disc."
"There's not just Magi in the competition!" said Bravo impatiently, "There are also Mystics!"
Bravo saw Capp's blank reaction, and Lucky's thirsty eyes, and sighed inwardly before explaining, "Mystics are what you call warrior cultivators who make it past the Hardbody Realm, able to truly utilize mystic energy, whether that be mystic mana or mystic force. The reason why the magi path has become so popular is because humans have weak constitutions.
"To make up for this they just train their energy really well. However, us Fey are different from humans. We basically are no longer human, by the human standard. This is why we're called Fey. It has to be kept a secret because there would be much unrest if the regular mortal humans found out that the world was run by what they would consider aliens. However, the reality is the Fey have been in control for centuries. It's even been discovered how to allow regular humans to become fey over time, like Lucky's new maid."
"Mrs. Mercury? She's an artificial Fey?" asked Capital Blacc full of curiosity.
"Yeah, and the dean is forcing her to honor her bet completely. She has to wear the same slave collar as the rest of the maids on campus. Lucky, I bet you could make her show you her artificial fey features! The collar's registered to you after all." Bravo looked at Casino with anticipation.
"I'll add it too the list," said Casino Riot noncommittally, his face strange. He wore a solemn expression, as he stood up and begin walking to the door, "Something happening."
Bravo and Capital instantly put up their guards and followed him wordlessly.
"Johnny! Johnny where are you!" came Margot's frantic voice as soon as they disabled the room's enchantment. Bravo shot forward and jumped over the banister, landing in front of Maggie with a bang.
"Little sis, what happened, what wrong?" Bravo spoke deep and heroically, like his arrival would automatically yield a solution to the problem.
"Lucky~!"
To Bravo's shock and amazement, the little blonde haired and blue eyed brat had skipped right past him and dove into Casino's embrace. She was currently purring softly as she nuzzled her face into his sturdy bosom.
"What's going on?" asked Casino Riot indifferently.
"It's Tony he's hurt! Some outsiders snuck into the school to look for you and Bravo! They found Tony and I, and then Tony fought them so I could run!" Margot Frenzy suddenly remembered her friend was in danger, and didn't have time to wonder when her brother and her beau had made up, "I came here first because I didn't know if you guys would want to help Tony but..hurry you must help!"
"The outsiders?" Casino Riot and the other two boys exchanged glances and then saw the same conclusion in each other's eyes.
"The Silver Mercury Gang!"
