8 Ch. 8 - Back at Thoth High
"You!" The spear wielding young man was tugging and pulling on his spear but it didn't bunch a single inch. He suddenly felt his heart sink. Never would he have imagined that one of these twerps could be so scary! With this level of strength he had to be on the seventh level, or maybe even the eighth! The young man knew that he had kicked a stone wall this time. Left with no visible alternative the young man chose to threaten, "Release my spear, student! You wouldn't be so brazen enough to challenge the Silver Mercury, would you? You can hide in the school but can your friends or family hide too? You better watch yourself!"
Bravo, Antonio, and Capital all frowned. These clowns were threatening their families and friends! So now they couldn't even defend themselves or they risked their families being retaliated against? Was Nibiru City renamed gangland now?
"Hahaha," to the shock of everyone present Casino Riot actually burst out in laughter. However, his eyes turned cold and a slight killing intent crept into his heart. "You can't do as you please to us, so now you want to threaten our families? Well here's the thing pal, I'm an orphan! No one likes me either! So your threat means absolutely nothing to me but gas!"
Casino pulled on the spear abruptly, dragging the young man along with it. Casino poured his mystic strength into his fist as it collided with the young man's face, crushing several bones and send him flying 10 meters away in a trail of blood. The young man cough up blood twice as he climbed to his feet, using his spear to support himself, "You're dead kid! DEAD!"
The spear wielding young man turned and ran off into the middle sector. Casino was considering catching him and killing him. His bloodthirstiness was increasing by the second, and he almost felt as if he want to drink that warriors blood to strengthen himself. This sensation gave Casino pause, and during that pause Capital places his hand on Casino's shoulder, "I'm glad you let it go, Lucky. We were starting to worry you were turning into a murderous madman like that Bruno Mercury, one of the Co-leaders of the Silver Mercury gang. It should be enough as long as you teach these fuck boys a lesson."
".." Casino Riot didn't speak a word, as he was still ruminating over the previous sensation. Could he really have awakened a murderous desire within himself? Was falling into depravity actually so simple?! The gang continued on their way, uninterrupted. However, they saw many more incidents of Silver Mercury gang members harassing the public, trying to impose their authoritative pressures. They even witnessed several fights. The city has grown rather lawless, thought Casino.
"I disagree, Capp." Bravo Frenzy chose this moment to chime in as the gang begin to make their way back to their school. Casino was secretly astounded by how close Bravo and Capp seemed to have become. It simply wasn't so chummy before yesterday.
Then again Casino's yesterday was over a year ago.
"It would've been better in Lucky had slaughtered that bastard, yeah? The punk tried to attack Mags! She was absolutely unguarded, that fuck boy could've killed her! He got off way too light, and he'll definitely report our appearances to his buddies!" Bravo was visibly upset, his eyes leaking a small amount of killing intent as he spoke in disgust, "They could already have squads looking for us from the earlier incident! Silencing him would have saved us loads of trouble."
"But, of course," said Antonio Bazaar suddenly with dramatic flair. Margot was slightly impressed, but the other three just rolled their eyes. "Without his life, how could it be difficult for us to leave the school in the near future? Now, however, we must be cautious. Truly Lucky, you shouldn't have been so nice."
Casino's initial shock from hearing Tony refer to him as Lucky for the first time in his life was quickly numbed by a startling realization. It wasn't until this moment that Casino realized that this best friend of his, Capital, was rather soft hearted in comparison to most warriors. Of course to him, this was also what made Capital Blacc such an outstanding young man. He had a fair sense of justice, and good morality. Unfortunately, this may also be the reason he lost in a fight against Frankie.
Quite frankly, if he was more ruthless Frankie would have only been able to fight him to a draw at best. After all, he had been practicing the Water God Fist Art.
On the other hand, Casino Riot had never been so nice. He had been bullied since young, and he fought back more fiercely every single time! Life had taught him a bit about the evil in hearts of men. Casino had never been very good with emotions in general, but he was super in tune with anger and aggression. He could identify with these feelings the most. Familial love was second place, while happiness and laughter came as a close third.
All other emotions were a bit foreign to Casino, and he truly had trouble understanding them. It seemed to him as if this aspect of his mentality had been growing more affluent after his blood boiled the first time. In fact, he felt it rather difficult to feel anything outside of anger currently. The moment this anger exceeded a certain boundary his blood would begin to boil again. Therefore, he was either angry or utterly indifferent.
"I can't afford to have my emotions fluctuate too much," thought Casino Riot. This was a rather oppressing feeling. The only exception was when he was laughing with his friends. This seemed to sooth his blood greatly. "Perhaps this is why Grandmaster Amen encouraged me to value friendship more. How bothersome."
Inwardly Casino felt a bit wary towards this, but he still didn't really mind or care. After all, it could be dangerous if he didn't do so. Plus, he had known these guys for years. They really were close.
"Hey Lucky, is there any danger down the west end? For this is the quickest way to school," Tony asked abruptly, dragging Casino out of his thoughts. His friends were accustomed to him knowing a bit more about their surroundings by entering his perceptive force state.
"Wait a minute. " Casino slapped his own forehead. How could he have forgotten! His eyes flashed as the Eye of Horus tattoo appeared on his glabella.
Perceptive Force State!
"Woah.." Casino was shocked to find that his psyche perception had improved tremendously! He also felt unprecedented control over his mental state. Suddenly he felt far more relaxed and light hearted. "Now this is what the sixth level of the Hard Body realm should feel like!"
No longer did he feel like he was on the verge of explosion! He was so happy it was clear on his face. Casino Riot suddenly grabbed Margot Frenzy's hand and spun her into his embrace. Margot's face immediately reddened but she simply didn't resist. Casino looked back at Capital and smiled brilliantly, "The west end's not so safe. I know a better way, lets go."
Casino dashed off down a side street with Margot in tow, and Antonio Bazaar immediately dashed behind them, visibly jealous. Capital Blacc and Bravo Frenzy looked each other in the eye in the back.
"What you think? Really?" asked Bravo Frenzy. "Your the one who knows him best. Is he..very different?"
"I don't know.." said Capital Blacc after a bit of thought. He sighed heavily, "He seemed the same just now but..earlier he was definitely different. More intense. It was like being next to a volcano."
"Mn, I felt it too. Something has changed in him too. Just like us.." Bravo's blue eyes flashed and suddenly became azure and cat like. His body unconsciously released a different level of intensity.
Capital Blacc smiled wryly, "At least you both seem to have some manner of control over your changes. I simply cannot control my own at all."
"That's not even the point, Capp!" Bravo felt exasperated, "Look, it's not just us anymore, you know? Even though Lucky was plenty weird already, at least we don't have to keep it under wraps anymore yeah? It can't be a coincidence if all three of us have experienced these changes related to our blood!"
"I guess we should have told him back there, huh? He told us about what happened to him right?" Capital Blacc crossed his arms, "Well, those fuck boys definitely had my mind distracted. Yeah, we'll tell him once we get to the dorm."
"Okay, let's go Capp," Bravo Frenzy's eyes returned to normal as him and Captital Blacc ran after their friends.
25 minutes later..
From the outside looking in, Thoth Academy was like a luxurious resort covered a radius of 15 miles. It was one of the largest properties, and the premier academy in Nibiru city. Thoth High School was at the eastern side of the academy, separated from the other two schools by a river channel. The walls of the academy were made of a mysterious black steel that was more flexible than aluminum but tough as titanium. This was called mystic steel.
"Halt!"
At the gate of the academy there were guards on duty. They used to be lazy and uncommunicative. However, as Casino and Margot approached the gate, they were immediately stopped cautiously. After all, Casino Riot was now around 6 feet and 1 inches tall and Margot Frenzy was 6 feet tall exactly. They could easily be mistaken for adults.
"Identify yourselves!" said the guard. This fat man with light brown skin was actually vaguely familiar!
"Have you lost your mind?" said Margot Frenzy aggressively. She was absolutely fed up with being spoken too in this manner. She wouldn't stand for it another second, even if it meant coming to blows over it.
"Joe with the bow?" said Casino Riot lightly while wearing a strange countenance, "So you're a guard now? Who would've thought. Where's Susie?"
"Eric's fixing her up for me, she got damaged by a senior student. Damn jerks, always strutting around like they're Silver Mercury or something. As for this..Well, I had to pick up this post for extra credit since I'm only at the fourth level. This way I can earn some extra..wait Lucky?!" Joe only knew one person in the world who called him 'Joe with the bow' every single time they met with a straight face. The renowned trash king, Casino Riot! They were both looked down on last year, so they had formed quite the cordial interaction. Casino was always positive and spoke many motivating words to Joe at time when he needed that a lot. This was why Joe was able to recognize his voice and reacted without thinking. "You grew taller man! Did you reach the fourth level as well?
"Haha, yep. Anyway, let us through bud, what's the deal?" said Casino Riot as he strolled up to the gate. Joe made no attempt to stop either him or Maggie once he confirmed Casino's identity.
By this time Antonio had caught up. Antonio was out of breathe, and shocked by how fast Casino Riot was now. This was while Casino carried his precious Margot!
"Hey Antonio, that Casino's a bit..different yeah? What's up with the tattoo on his head?" asked Joe when Antonio was passing by him.
"Well..you heard those two were out for independent study these last few months, no? Let's just say you'll be surprised by the results of their training," said Antonio in an air of mysticism.
Joe frowned as he never knew how to deal with this guy, ever since they were in elementary school. At the gate Casino and Margot passed through the origin recognition security system and to the other side where they waited for their friends. Five minutes later all five friends were reunited!
After going through the gate and arriving on campus, the five youths were finally back at Thoth High!
